Chapter 1106: How Do You Know?

Upon entering the town where his companions were supposed to have been sold, Vicente and his group did not go unnoticed.

At the entrance to the city, they had already caught the eye of some guards, although the ordinary locals paid no more attention to them than they would to any large group like his passing by.

Few could notice the magical fluctuation of such strong specialists and even distinguish their strength in comparison to other local warriors. But even without the close observation of the local population on them, the group had to deal with guards watching them all the way to the center of this city.

The town wasn’t as big as the Light Cay’s cities, which made it easy to cross in a mere 10-minute walk. But even though the place seemed as technologically advanced as the towns in Earth’s western movies, Vicente noticed the long-range communication of the members of the local police force.

Looking off to the side, he could see some guards talking quietly ’to themselves’, while sound waves carried information from afar. Naturally, with his electromagnetic powers, he understood everything that was being communicated between these men.

Not surprisingly, the entire local police force was already aware of their presence in the city, their numbers and even possible places of interest.

’I imagine I’ll be running into some important figures in the next few minutes.’ He thought to himself just before his guide stopped in front of a peculiar building.

Looking at the apparently ordinary warehouse on the other side of the cobbled street, Vicente identified the place where his companions had been sold.

“Is this where you passed through?” He asked to confirm, receiving a positive nod in response as soon as he questioned, pointing toward the building.

’This looks like a common place to sell everyday items. Do they sell slaves along with fruit and work tools?’ Vice wondered as he walked towards the large doors of this establishment.

His undead and the guide followed silently behind him, not bothered by those around them looking at them strangely or even those simply going about their daily business.

Undead were excellent underlings for stressful routines. They were 100% efficient in carrying out their orders and would never change their purpose midway. Vicente had already proven this in a few actions over the last few days, having noticed how good they were at getting in and out of cities.

Unlike living beings, who had their different and difficult personalities, undead were basically weapons made for specific purposes. If they were to invade a city, they would do so and then hold their ground. Living beings, on the other hand, could range from delaying or even not invading the place to even deviating from their function by acting against locals and many more.

Vicente had therefore taken a liking to the undead and was already planning ways to use the undead to his advantage and, if possible, if necessary, create his undead kingdom.

But just as they had their benefits, they also had their drawbacks. Entering with a group of undead anywhere would hardly happen without alerting locals and those interested in staying away from necromancers.

A group of individuals from inside that market appeared in Vicente’s path, promptly erecting a barrier for him to enter that space.

“Senior, what do you intend to do?” A blond man dressed as a butler asked, standing in front of the other men and looking at Vicente cautiously.

Vicente looked through this group, noticing that they weren’t the only ones in his way. Inside that market, at least three peak 9th stage experts, much stronger than these low and mid-level 9th stage men, were looking in his direction.

’Waiting to see if I’m worth it?’ Vicente quickly interpreted the situation, seeing that this could lead to trouble or quick answers.

Smiling slowly, he raised one of his hands in the air, making everyone pay attention to it. But instead of something emerging from his hands, the shadows inside the establishment changed ominously, with the surroundings seeming to leave the surrounding world and become a dark dimension of their own, with different rules and mechanisms from reality.

Vicente said, “I’m after three individuals sold in your store, a Flaming Lion, a human, and an elf. Tell me where they’ve been taken and I’ll leave.”

Vicente didn’t say this to those in his way, but rather one of the three individuals waiting to see if they should intervene.

But with his action, there was no doubt that this was a matter for them to deal with.

When Vicente stepped forward, the men in his way lost their will, letting him pass without him even needing to use his powers.

“Who are you?” Asked a monkey-looking man with a very red mouth and a big yellow nose, one of the three strongest around.

“My name is Vicente Fuller. The three I’m looking for are my companions, sold out by these idiots.” He indicated to his subordinates, showing them the undead and the group’s guide, who was still alive, despite having lost his soul.

It only took the three experts a glance to understand the situation of these individuals and also this man’s powers.

As well as having a power over darkness powerful enough to take over their market, Vicente was also a rare necromancer.

They were silent for a moment, considering the strength and potential this young man showed. Vicente was not yet a high-level Sorcerer, but necromancers usually fought far above their level. Considering this and the extra skills he might have, the three preferred not to go against him for no stronger reason than to protect client information.

One of them nodded to a subordinate frozen in silence and said, “Bring the book of business for our visitor.”

Vicente smiled as he lowered his hand again, making the darkness in the surroundings diminish noticeably.

“By the way, Senior Fuller, where do you come from? You’re not from any of the islands of Anicane, are you?” Asked one of the three, a gaunt man, thin in appearance but carrying absolute strength, evident to anyone who looked at him.

Vicente looked this individual in the eye and nodded positively without saying more at the moment.

“I see. My senses are not mistaken. You smell similar to some old acquaintances.” Murmured the creature, attracting the gaze not only of Vicente but also of his two companions. “Let me guess… You come from Polaris Realm?” He asked, to the surprise of Vicente and the two high-level Sorcerers next to him.

“How do you know that?” Vicente took two steps forward as his expression changed entirely.
