Chapter 3630: More Than Enough
"Hum?" Rifindio’s eyes stabilized, and he found himself back in the arena. However, that wasn’t the same arena he had just left. This one was in another plane, like a different layer of the same space. That’s how the separation happened.
That wasn’t what caught his attention, though. Instead, it was the fact he wasn’t alone. Right by his side, Rean and Roan stood, looking just as confused.
Then, Rifindio jumped back, his heart beating fast. "Fuck! I haven’t killed you guys! Why are you my adversaries?"
"Calm down, idiot!" Rean complained. "You were supposed to fight only one expert, wasn’t it? Roan and I are here, so how could we be your opponents at the same time?"
Rean sighed. "Let’s be honest. If we were your opponents, and we were actually twice as strong than we normally are, you would be dead already."
Rifindio couldn’t say he liked how Rean put that, but he also knew Rean was speaking the truth. The twins wouldn’t need to be twice as strong and appear together. Just a single one of them with their normal strength was more than enough to trash Rifindio. "Then it is really you two? Why?"
Roan walked a little, looking around. "We don’t know. This is different from what Lindiho explained. I don’t think Lindiho was lying, though. Creating problems for us would only be detrimental for himself." Roan also couldn’t detect any lies when Lindiho explained about this place.
Rean shrugged. "Well, this entire opening of the Golden Palace has been anything but normal, right? Many Universes at once instead of a single one. Not to mention, no one seems to know how everything here really works."
"Roan, take a look at your medallion. What does it say?" Rean remembered the medallion that always added new information depending on the region they were in.
Roan took a quick look, but this time, the information had no riddles. It was very direct.
-Defeat your past, and you will be allowed to proceed.-
"So it says..." Roan pointed out.
*Bzzz...*
Suddenly, the arena trembled, and on the other side, space warped as well. In the next moment, three experts appeared, the red color on their chests showing which Universe they were from.
"The Red Garden?" Rifindio immediately recognized those three. One of them was the guy Rifindio felt a connection with. As for the other two, one was Lafanxa, the female demon plant that talked earlier, and the other one was called Lirel, also a Red Glittering Hibiscus.
"Hehe!" Lafanxa laughed a little. On her hand, a Purple Crystal shone with intense light. Then, cracks began to appear all over it, shattering the crystal a moment later. "To think we would find a chosen so fast. Still, that’s weird. We were supposed to have dragged only the chosen, and yet, he came out with another two companions."
Lirel, who was another Hibiscus, shrugged. "It doesn’t really matter, does it? Look at them. Two Elemental Space Realm ants. Even the chosen himself is an ant who is still in the Initial Stage of the Space-Time Realm."
Getty, who was also there, seemed to be the only one confused. "Chosen? What chosen? What are you talking about?"
Lafanxa glanced at Getty. "You don’t need to know... for now."
Rean raised his hand on the other side of the arena. "Hey, friends. Just so you know, we could hear everything you were saying."
"Is that so?" Lafanxa’s smile increased, and she began to walk in the twins’ group direction. "That was a little unbefitting a lady like me. Don’t worry, though. As long as you are not alive, no one will know about this little blunder."
Lirel also followed Lafanxa. In this arena, he knew there was no way out. The only way you could leave this place was by killing your enemy. "Try to not make any meaningless struggle, okay? We are in a hurry, so I promise to give you three a quick death."
Neither Rean nor Roan were the least bit worried. Of course, Rean still tried to extract some more information, pretending to be nervous. "W-We also heard something about this chosen thing. It seems like our friend here is a chosen himself, and your words confirmed it. Unfortunately, we are in the dark at the moment. Could you tell us more about what a chosen is? That way, we won’t die oblivious. Sure you can do this little bit so our souls can pass away in peace, right?"
Rean glanced at Rifindio, who quickly nodded. "Y-Yes, please. I’ve been haunted by this chosen thing ever since I entered the Golden Palace. At least let me die knowing why and what a chosen is, I beg you!"
Rean couldn’t help but shake his head slightly. ’Your acting could use a little improvement.’
’Do I look like someone who intends to have a career as an actor?’ Rifindio complained back.
Naturally, their opponents didn’t hear anything.
"Is that so? Hahaha!" Lirel laughed. "Too bad! Explaining everything would be annoying, so you will have to ask someone else in your next life."
Lafanxa then looked at Getty, who still seemed confused. "Getty, stop thinking too much! The crystal I used managed to put us against these ants. This is a good thing for you, too. To leave this place, we needed to kill them, just like the rules stated. You will find out more about this chosen stuff later."
Getty sighed, nodding. "So be it. We already killed quite a few on our way here anyway."
Rean and Roan, arms crossed, looked at each other.
"And here I thought they would have a slightly looser tongue," Rean felt disappointed.
Roan couldn’t care less. "As if it would change anything."
Rifindio, who was in the middle, felt like a burden. ’Sorry. I don’t think I’m a match for any of those guys. However, they are obviously Divine Demon Plants. If I use my regal bloodline, I can suppress their powers a little. It’s just that the difference in cultivation between us is too big,’ he said through Divine Sense.
Roan snorted in response. "Who needs your help? You and the idiot stay back."
Roan began to walk in the trio’s direction. Two Elemental Intent Scythes appeared in each of his hands, his momentum increasing. "I am more than enough."
