Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough
Chapter 1549: Chu Yang’s Search For a Way Out~Going back in time by a few weeks to when Chu Yang first emerged from the secret cultivation room where he had successfully broken through to the Initial Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm, he wasted no time in testing out his new strength in the empty ancient ruins. Only stopping after feeling satisfied with his control over his new strength.
Of course, what he hadn’t noticed when he had been testing his strength was the fact that he had accidentally ended up hitting a critical point in the structure of the formation that had been sealing off the maze he had made his way through to reach the secret cultivation room not too long ago.
Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t have been any cause for concern, as even if he ended up attacking a critical or weak point in the formation with all his strength, he would stand no chance of damaging it with his current strength.
However, the critical point in the formation that he ended up accidentally hitting while testing out his new strength just so happened to be connected to the weakened part of the formation, he had seen inside the small room with the maze hidden inside of it.
Essentially, the only real weak spot in the formation that had developed over countless years of slow decay without anyone showing up to help maintain the formation and ensure that the demon beasts inside of the maze couldn’t break out and cause harm to the ancient city outside.
Crack~!
Because of this, the already weakened part of the formation started showing signs of breaking apart under the outside pressure added on by Chu Yang’s careless testing of his new strength.
Roar? Roar!
Roar-!
Roar~!Resulting in countless demon beasts inside the maze, unknown to Chu Yang, flocking towards the direction where the crack appeared in the formation. All of them eager for an opportunity to leave the maze, as none of them willingly stayed inside of the maze. Especially so for the stronger demon beasts that had developed a level of intelligence no less than any human.
Bang-bang-bang!
In the end, some of the more eager demon beasts soon rushed towards the crack in the formation to try and squeeze themselves through it before the formation had any time to respond and redirect other parts of the formation towards sealing the small opening that had appeared in the formation.
"Huh? Tha-That is!?"
While the first few demon beasts managed to successfully squeeze their way through the hole in the formation and leave the maze. Entering the ancient city ruins. Chu Yang discovered what he had ended up doing, as he quickly stopped what he was doing. Allowing the formation to quickly repair itself and seal the opening that had been created by him by accident.
ROoooar-!
Roar!
ROOOOAR!
However, this was not done before hundreds of demon beasts had managed to successfully escape from the maze, as their happily roared out loudly in response to seeing what they presumed to be the outside world for the first time in their life. All of them filled with excitement at the freedom that they had managed to obtain. No longer having to live in fear of accidentally stepping inside the territory of an exceptionally powerful demon beast and ending up dead as a result.
If anything, there was one positive thing about what had happened… And that was the fact that the hole in the formation had been too small to allow any demon beasts in the Soul Ascension Realm to cross through and escape from the maze. Meaning that most of these overjoyed demon beasts were only in the Domain Lord Realm.
Now… On the not so bright side of things, most of these demon beasts seemed to be part of the same clan or race. Resembling what could only be described as oversized rats. Likely due to the hole in the formation having been next to the location of their nesting place inside of the maze.
Although he had just broken through to the Initial stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm and was far stronger than he had been before his breakthrough. Faced with hundreds of oversized rats all in the Domain Lord Realm, Chu Yang could not help feeling a shiver run down his spine. Understanding very well that he was currently in an extremely dangerous situation.
If he wanted to get out of his current situation alive, he would have to avoid these demon beasts before they realized he was there.
Luckily, they were far too preoccupied with celebrating their recent escape from the maze to notice his presence for now. Allowing him to recollect himself before slowly starting to make his way in the direction of the closest bridge of light leading off the floating island with the ancient city and also being one of the bridges of light he had originally been planning to travel along as it looked promising when it came to potentially leading to another large island that could have a passage out of the mystic realm on it.
Crack~
However, before he had time to even reach the bridge of light he had been planning on escaping through, the already decaying stones underneath his feet cracked. Creating an ever so faint sound that echoed across the ancient city ruins. Instantly drawing the attention of some of the nearby oversized rat demon beasts that had been celebrating among each other-
Roar? ROAR!
And not a second later they came rushing over towards him filled with killing intent. Making Chu Yang almost certain that they were somehow related to the demon beasts he had experimented with before entering the maze in the past.
Maybe they might even be the same demon beasts. Only the restriction to strength they faced this time around was far more lenient compared to the first time around where he had been able to easily catch them without any effort.
At this kind of time, he really felt that it was unfortunate that he couldn’t fly inside of the mystic realm, as if he had been able to do so, he would have been able to leave the ancient city ruins with ease. Never running the risk of cracking some of the ancient stones and attracting the attention of the oversized rat demon beasts…
Smiling a bit wryly to himself as he thought about this, Chu Yang noticed that more and more of the oversized rat demon beasts noticed what was happening before they similarly came rushing over towards him filled with what could only be described as a familiar killing intent.
He could only say that some of these oversized rat demon beasts did indeed look a bit familiar when he looked at them a bit more closely.
However, even if part of him wanted to stay behind and test out his strength after his recent breakthrough, he understood very well that doing so would be nothing more than a death sentence.
This was not just one or two Domain Lord Realm demon beasts, but hundreds of Domain Lord Realm demon beasts!
Even if he reached the Soul Ascension Realm in terms of strength. Fighting so many Domain Lord Realm demon beasts would only mean death once he was surrounded by them. Not to mention, he couldn’t make full use of his abilities inside the ancient city ruins on top a relatively small floating island that barely seemed to have enough space for the demon beasts that now filled every corner of said island with their large bodies.
Outside that, there was also the risk of him getting knocked off the island in the battle, something he wanted to avoid at all costs considering he was well aware of the danger that lurked in the dark waters below.
Whoosh-!
And so, it was with this a chase that was going to last for the next few weeks officially began, as Chu Yang desperately escaped across one of the bridges of light onto another floating island with a horde of demon beasts following closely behind him.
However, given that he would still have to search these islands for a gate out of the mystic realm he found himself trapped inside of, while also dealing with other demon beasts lingering on the floating island along his escape path, it was impossible for him to make use of his greater strength to constantly stay ahead of the chasing oversized rat demon beasts.
Thus, as the days continued to pass, his condition continued to worsen with the continued clashes with local demon beasts and the ones chasing after him. Resulting in the bloodied and aggravated state that Qing Yi and Chun Hua saw him in when they first encountered him clashing with one of the oversized rat demon beasts that had managed to catch up with him during his search of a new ancient city ruin. Looking for a potential path out of the mystic realm.
Rendering him completely unaware of just how close to a way out he actually was, as he continued clashing with the oversized rat demon beasts.
