Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough
Chapter 1550: Saving a Half Dead Senior BrotherContinuing to clash with the oversized rat demon beasts that had been chasing after him for the past few months, Chu Yang smashed through ancient buildings while doing his best to not get surrounded by the oversized rat demon beasts. Understanding that he wouldn’t be able to continue moving around as freely as he was if he ended up getting surrounded by the increasing number of oversized rat demon beasts that appeared around him with each passing second.
At the same time, he kept looking around the ancient city ruins for any signs of a gate that could lead outside the mystic realm. Not at all paying any attention to anything outside of the city ruins, as he simply couldn’t afford to do so for now with all the things he had to keep his attention focused on to avoid getting gutted by one of the oversized rats trying everything in their power to kill him.
Because of this, even when Qing Yi and Chun Hua stepped inside of the ancient city ruins to come to his help, he didn’t notice them until the two of them attacked one of the oversized rats about to bite into one of his legs.
"Huh!? Qing Yi? Chun Hua!? What are you two doing here!?" Filled with shock at the appearance of his two junior sisters, Chu Yang momentarily lost his focus, as he said this.
CHOMP!
"Aaaah!"
Resulting in a second oversized rat demon beast managing to successfully chomp down on his other leg. Biting off part of it in the process.
Although injuries like losing a limb could be recovered at his current cultivation realm, it was still extremely painful and healing back a lost limb to its previous strength would take an extended period of time to complete.
Not to mention, he couldn’t use his domain to fly inside of the mystic realm…
Thump!Meaning that he ended up falling flat on his face after losing part of his leg to one of the oversized rat demon beats.
"Chu Yang!" "Senior brother!"
Seeing this, Qing Yi and Chun Hua rushed forward to block the demon beasts that jumped forward to take advantage of the situation to land a killing blow on Chu Yang-
Roooar!
Bang-bang-bang!
"Ugh! These rats are far stronger than they look…"
Unfortunately, even though these demon beasts were mostly only at the earlier stage of the Domain Lord Realm, their strength was far beyond what Chun Hua and Qing Yi had expected, as they were soon both forced back by them.
At the very least, blocking the demon beasts bought enough time for Chu Yang to get back up and start using his one functioning leg to get out of the way. Allowing his two saviors to retreat in the direction of the light bridge that they had just crossed with Chun Hua grabbing hold of Chu Yang on the way. Caring him along with them, while Qing Yi became the main force to block off the advance of the demon beasts, who were now also trying to kill the two of them instead of just their senior brother.
"Huh!? He fainted!?"
Just at this moment, Chun Hua realized that Chu Yang had fainted at some point. Likely because he hadn’t been able to rest properly for the past few weeks and had been under constant attacks by the demon beasts chasing after him while he had been looking for a way out of the mystic realm.
Even if he had reached the Initial Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Relam, not resting for weeks and being caught up in constant battles during that time was simply far too much… And after being dealt a critical blow by having part of his leg chomped off, he lost consciousness and fainted on the spot. Unable to keep himself awake any longer.
Part of the reason why he fainted also had to do with the fact that he had ended up encountering his two junior sisters and felt a certain degree of safety in them being there to protect him.
Otherwise, he might have been able to forcefully keep himself awake for another few minutes through sheer willpower alone, but even then, he wouldn’t be able to make it out without the help of Chun Hua and Qing Yi. ṛᴀŊŐ𐌱ÊS
After all, even if he would have been saved by the last ditch safety measure put in place by his master when he had first left the sect to go out on an adventure exploring the neutral territory between two major powers in the northern central region, he wouldn’t have anyone to save him after the strength of that power ran out and became unable to protect him any longer.
No matter how much Xuan Hao might have tried to rush back to save his disciple after the last-ditch safety mechanism was activated, he wouldn’t be able to get back immediately and there was still a certain risk of death for Chu Yang if Chun Hua and Qing Yi hadn’t been around to help him out.
After all, it was unrealistic for Xuan Hao to have the ability to always ensure his disciples safety without any risk of death during their adventures outside the sect.
Of course, the safety he provided for them was still far beyond what most other masters could provide.
Even reaching the point where he wondered if he was giving them a little too much help during their adventures outside of the sect, but that was a discussion for the future.
Back to the situation at hand, Chun Hua carried her senior brother along with her as she made it back onto the bridge of light with Qing Yi following closely behind while fending off the demon beasts rushing forward to attack them.
Although Chu Yang had been struggling to fight off these demon beasts earlier with his far higher cultivation realm, it mostly had to do with the fact that he was in an extremely exhausted state and could barely use his power to fight back against them.
On the positive side of things, the weeks he had spent fighting off the oversized rat demon beasts allowed him to get extremely familiar with his new power in the Initial Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm. Allowing him to familiarize himself properly with his new strength during the constant battles, while also making him understand that just because he had reached the Dao Domain Lord Realm, it didn’t mean that he was above being beaten up by other Domain Lord Realm demon beasts or cultivators.
If there were enough of them around, Domain Lord Realm cultivators could easily overwhelm and kill him, something he had ended up learning the hard way.
Not to mention, with so many Domain Lord Realm demon beasts attacking him, it had been difficult for him to focus on one to kill. Resulting in him only killing a little under ten demon beasts during the weeks he had spent fighting them, as whenever one ended up injured or at the risk of dying, they would rapidly retreat and let another one take their place.
In a sense, the fact that he had even managed to kill some of them was a testament to his strength, though those that had died ended up doing so during the first few days of the chase, as he was far too exhausted to try and focus on killing the demon beasts after the first week. Instead, he placed his full focus on defense and wasting as little qi as possible during the exchanges he ended up having with them…
"Finally made it to the cloud… Hm… Never expected I would be happy to find myself back inside this cloud."
"Indeed… But it should be able to provide us with cover and delay the demon beasts chasing after us."
As Qing Yi and Chun Hua made it back into the cloud that had taken them hours to painstakingly feel their way through, both let out somewhat relived sighs as they slowed down to recover some strength while also ensuring they didn’t end up stepping off the side of the light bridge.
"Looks like they aren’t even going to try and chase after us." Looking back in the direction of the floating island they had just fled from; Qing Yi narrowed her eyes slightly as she said this. Clearly noticing that the oversized rat demon beasts didn’t chase them into the cloud.
"Good… At least we will have some time to look after senior brother’s injuries and see if we can wake him up." Nodding her head with a small smile on her face, Chun Hua immediately got to work after learning that the oversized rats didn’t chase after them. Soon starting to examine the part of Chu Yang’s leg that had been chomped off, before moving on to inspecting the rest of his body.
"This… He really is amazing to remain conscious with this degree of injuries…"
In the end, Chun Hua could not help silently muttering this to herself, as she began realizing just how bad the state of her senior brother was.
Although not life threatening, his state was far from optional, as it would at least take a few months for him to recover from his current state even with the help of pills and elixirs.
For now, the best she could do was use what she had on her to stop the bleeding and partially heal the external and internal injuries he had suffered. Stabilizing his situation so his situation wouldn’t get any worse. The rest he would have to recover after he returned to sect, as she didn’t have anything on her capable of helping much more than that.
