With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1074 - 1074: Appraisers from the Adventurer’s Guild

Yue Lan didn’t question this in the end since she had no idea what was happening on the other side.

Only that wasn’t the case with Rokuko.

At the very least, she kept her questions to herself until they were through the portal and they were back on the magic continent.

“Where did this portal come from?” Rokuko immediately asked the moment that they were back from the cultivation continent.

The look on her face made it clear that she wouldn’t accept anything other than an actual answer. After all, this was just too shocking for her to not ask anything about this.

She had been worried the entire time about a way to return to the cultivation continent and now Lin Fan had brought out the solution easily without even telling her anything.

It would be strange if she didn’t actually have any questions about this.

Lin Fan looked like he was hesitant over something, but eventually he said, “It’s just something that I had up my sleeves.”

Rokuko immediately narrowed her eyes to look at Lin Fan after he said this, but he still didn’t say anything else.

After all, it wasn’t as if there was anything else that he could say.

This was something that was related to the one thing that he still hadn’t told anyone about.

This was his final secret, so he couldn’t just reveal this that easily.

Rokuko continued to stare at Lin Fan for a long time, but eventually she gave a sigh.

It was one that was filled with defeat and a trace of disappointment, but she didn’t do anything else after that.

After all, she was already used to Lin Fan and knew that if he wasn’t going to say anything, there was no way for her to force this out of him.

The only thing that she could do was accept that he wouldn’t say anything and move on.

“What now?” Rokuko suddenly asked.

Lin Fan looked around the room before saying, “We wait.”

“Are you sure that there’s a new dungeon in this place?” Ryan asked all of a sudden.

“It was what was reported to the guild, so it’s our duty to verify this. Stop complaining, this is a part of the job.” Sophia said in a stern voice.

The two of them were inspectors that had been sent by the Adventurer’s Guild after they had received a report of a new dungeon. As per the rules, it was their jobs to see what kind of dungeon this was and to see what grade this dungeon should receive.

But Sophia also couldn’t help feeling a bit doubtful.

After all, they had been trekking in these woods for a while now and it didn’t seem like there was a trace of the dungeon.

These woods seemed like there were no traces of humans at all.

At the same time, it seemed like there was nothing else that indicated that anything had changed here.

This place seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere.

Still, it was their job to investigate the area and they couldn’t go back before they did that.

As for why Sophia was taking this job so seriously, it was all because this was a job that came all the way from above. This was a job that had come from headquarters and was even said to come from the president, so they had no choice but to take this seriously.

If they made any mistakes, there was no doubt that there would be consequences.

Ryan knew this as well, but he couldn’t help complaining.

Or he would have complained again if not for what he saw in front of him.

Both he and Sophia immediately stopped in their tracks when they saw what was in front of them. After all, the thing that appeared was just too hard for them to believe.

It was as if they had entered an entirely different world.

That was because they had gone from the middle of nowhere to the center of civilization.

They had gone from the woods into what seemed to be a village.

There were several different buildings that were in this clearing that they walked into and it was very obvious what these buildings were for based on the features that they had.

It was just hard for them to believe that someone would build all of this in the middle of nowhere.

They still hadn’t come back to their senses when they heard a voice rang out.

“Are you the ones from the Adventurer’s Guild?”

However, they did recover when they saw that someone was approaching them.

Both Ryan and Sophia raised their guards when they saw this person approaching, but they didn’t treat him with hostility since they could see that he didn’t have any hostility towards them.

Instead, Sophia asked, “Are you one of the residents of this town?”

With a faint smile, that person said, “One of the only two residents actually.”

Sophia and Ryan looked at each other with surprised and confused looks after hearing this.

Seeing them do this, that person said, “I was the one that reported the dungeon to the Adventurer’s Guild and the one that built this place while I was waiting.”

There were strange looks that appeared on Sophia and Ryan’s faces when they heard this, but they didn’t say anything about this.

Instead Sophia just said, “Alright, since you were the one that called it in, then you must know where the dungeon is. Can you show us the dungeon so we can take a look at it?”

That person raised a brow in surprise before asking, “Are you sure that you want to take a look right away? It must have taken a while for you to come all this way, so I’m sure that you would want to rest a bit first, right?”

Ryan’s eyes lit up when he heard this, but Sophia just said with a stern look on her face, “We’re here to do our jobs. I hope that you’ll allow us to explore the dungeon as soon as possible.”

Ryan looked deflated after hearing this, but the fact that he didn’t say anything made it clear who was in charge here.

After looking at them for a bit, that person finally said, “Alright, if that’s what you want.”

Then without any further questions, that person led the two of them to a set of stairs leading down into the ground.

Both Sophia and Ryan were not surprised to see this since they worked for the Adventurer’s Guild. They were both familiar with dungeons like this and recognized it as the entrance to a dungeon right away.

With that, the two of them headed down into the dungeon.

It was already dark when they came back up from the dungeon. At the same time, they were completely covered in dirt and grime by the time that they came up.

Once they came out, the person who had been waiting there said, “Are you alright?”

Sophia just raised her hand to stop that person from coming over before saying, “We’re perfectly fine, we’re just a bit tired from diving in the dungeon.”

There was a bitter smile that appeared on Ryan’s face after she said this.

The look on his face was as if he was saying, “A bit tired? That’s a bit of an understatement.”

But of course he didn’t say it out loud.

That person just gave a nod before saying, “Do you want to rest up first then? I’m sure that you wouldn’t want to trek through the forest in the middle of the night.”

Ryan’s eyes lit up, but he didn’t say anything as he looked at Sophia.

He knew the temperament of this partner of his and she was technically higher ranked than him…

Sophia didn’t have the same stern look though.

There was a look of hesitation that was on her face this time.

After all, no matter how dedicated she was to the job, it was hard to remain dedicated in this state. She also wanted a good rest, some good food, and to wash off the dirt and grime that covered her.

After a long moment of silence, Sophia finally said, “Alright, we’ll accept this invitation.”

By the end of it, both Sophia and Ryan had shocked looks on their faces.

After all, they certainly didn’t expect hospitality of this level in a place like this.

“These are the baths? They’re so big!”

“These clothes are so luxurious, where did you get them?”

The coup de grace was dinner.

“This…This is the most delicious meal that I’ve ever had!”

When Rokuko brought out the food, they were completely focused on it rather than her who had appeared in front of them for the first time. The way that they were eating, it was as if they had been starved for a long time.

When it was finally over, Sophia asked the same person from before, “Are you the one that built all of this?”

“That’s right. I figured that there would be people coming to raid the dungeon once it was reported back to the Adventurer’s Guild, so I wanted to build this place up before that happens. Since you are my first guests, I was hoping that you would be able to give me your thoughts about this place.”

Sophia shook her head and gave a sigh before saying, “You’ve got good insight. With the dungeon and this place, there’s no doubt that you’ll earn quite a lot.”

Then after a pause, she added, “What did you say your name was?”

“Lin Fan.”
