The Extreme Alchemist of the Mighty Cauldron
Chapter 1686: 1783: Tracing the True DragonChapter 1686: Chapter 1783: Tracing the True Dragon
Everyone within the three sects knows that the Spirit Martial Chess Sect possesses an incredibly powerful Protective Sect Array capable of repelling even Immortal-level combatants, but few are aware that the massive chessboard beneath the Spirit Martial Chess Sect is also an Array Plate.
Above this Array Plate lies the Spirit Martial Chess Sect’s second Formation.
As the Great Elder of the Spirit Martial Chess Sect, along with several strong experts from the sect, presided over it, the Ancient Heavenly Array was activated, and the second array appeared outside the Spirit Martial Chess Sect, blocking the flames released by the Ancient Lamp of Flame God.
With this development, the experts within the array finally sighed in relief. If there had only been one array, they would have felt uneasy deep in their hearts, constantly worrying about when the single Formation would be breached.
“There’s actually a second Formation? Still, it’s nothing but the tactic of a coward. Staying on the defensive won’t do you any good.” Fang Lin sneered, appearing directly behind the eight Ancient Lamps of Flame God and lightly tapping with his fingers.
A fiery flower condensed into form, quietly blossoming under Fang Lin’s control, and descended upon the newly activated Ancient Heavenly Array.
With a deafening roar, the Ancient Heavenly Array trembled violently, its light barrier flickering incessantly, attesting to the tremendous power of the previous strike.
Yet the Ancient Heavenly Array remained unscathed and extraordinarily solid, clearly not something that could be easily broken.
The purpose of the Ancient Heavenly Array was to sustain the Protective Sect Array within, allowing it to recover its strength. By then, even if an attack equivalent to Immortal-level forced its way through again, it could still be resisted.
At this moment, the second titanic spirit warrior painted by Master Liu rushed out, aiming directly at Fang Lin and seeking to prevent his continual strikes on the array.
Fang Lin did not even glance at the spirit warrior; Jian Angxing had already darted forward, blocking the titanic spirit warrior and ensuring Fang Lin’s assault went unhindered.
Master Liu furrowed his white brows at the sight but continued his strokes, starting to sketch out the third titanic spirit warrior.
“Attack together!” An elder from the Return to Sea Painting Studio shouted, and just like Master Liu, he began painting as well.
In an instant, numerous titanic spirit warriors emerged from their brush strokes. Although they weren’t as formidable as the ones drawn by Master Liu, their strength lay in numbers, contributing to the fight.
“Trying to win with numbers, huh?” Zhen Yangzi chuckled softly, patting the Nine Palace Bag at his waist. Sheets of yellow talisman paper scattered into the air.
The Taoist Sect Secret Skill — Scatter Beans into Soldiers!
The talisman papers radiated golden light, transforming into countless Taoists wielding Peach Wood Swords, all charging toward the titanic spirit warriors emerging from the array.
For a moment, the sky grew lively, as talisman Taoists and titanic spirit warriors fought fiercely. Meanwhile, Fang Lin continued using the Ancient Lamps of Flame God to bombard the Ancient Heavenly Array below, while Jian Angxing and Fu Yue Vajra dealt with the two strongest titanic spirit warriors.
The battle was fiercely contested, yet the momentum was gradually tilting toward Fang Lin’s side.
“This can’t go on. The Ancient Heavenly Array will eventually be breached, and even if the Protective Sect Array regains full power, it will still end up in a passive position,” Master Song said gravely.
“Why haven’t reinforcements from the Sea Saint Institute arrived yet?” Master Liu asked while sketching.
Master Song gritted his teeth with a hint of frustration on his face. “They won’t come at all.”
“What?” On hearing this, Master Liu’s expression immediately soured.
Master Song continued, “The Sea Saint Institute has long dwindled in numbers. Even if all of them came, it wouldn’t make much of a difference.”
“If the Sea Saint Institute won’t come, what about the Taoist Sect? If our Confucian Sect falls, they will be next. Surely they can’t just stand by and do nothing, waiting to be destroyed one by one!” Master Liu exclaimed.
Master Song shook his head. “I’ve inquired multiple times with the Taoist Sect, but their responses remain vague. Whether they will come to aid us is still uncertain.”
“Those damned Taoists! When fighting over territory and resources, they’re bold and arrogant. But now that calamity is at the door, they shrink back like cowards!” Master Liu spat angrily, though his brush strokes never paused. The third titanic spirit warrior was finally completed.
This third spirit warrior advanced toward Fang Lin, and at this pivotal moment, it seemed no one could stop it from reaching him.
Fu Yue Vajra and Jian Angxing were already locked in battle with two titanic spirit warriors, unable to get free. Meanwhile, Zhen Yangzi’s constant use of Scatter Beans into Soldiers to counteract numerous spirit warriors left him equally occupied.
Apparently, only Fang Lin himself could face this third titanic spirit warrior.
Yet Fang Lin remained unmoved, seemingly oblivious to the approaching threat right before him.
Suddenly, a black shadow appeared out of nowhere, blocking the path of the titanic spirit warrior and punching it away.
This shadow was none other than Fang Lin’s long-unused Demon Puppet — the Devil Dragon in the Air — of the Dragon Family.
Seven years ago, Fang Lin perished across the Seven Seas, and the Demon Puppet was brought back to the Nine Countries by the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.
Because the Demon Puppet was crafted by the Old Dried Corpse Jin Zhulong, it remained in its puppet state even after Fang Lin’s death. Adding the Great Sage Equal to Heaven’s suppression, the puppet had no chance of regaining consciousness.
After Fang Lin was resurrected, he regained control of the Demon Puppet, but he seldom used it, preferring to refine his own abilities.
Now, Fang Lin saw no need to conceal it anymore. If it could be utilized, it would be.
The Demon Puppet possessed Great Longevity peak-level cultivation, just one step shy of Fu Yue Vajra and the others. It was more than capable of handling the titanic spirit warrior, even if it couldn’t win outright immediately. At the very least, it could stall it.
Seeing his third spirit warrior stopped, Master Liu’s frown deepened as he resumed painting.
This time, he didn’t paint another spirit warrior.
“When I was young, I once saw a True Dragon image by chance. Although it’s been thousands of years, I still remember its appearance. If I replicate it now, perhaps it could retain three or four-tenths of the True Dragon’s aura,” Master Liu thought silently, closing his eyes to recall.
After a brief moment, Master Liu opened his eyes and began painting again, his movements completely different from before.
With each stroke, the Dragon’s roar grew!
The oceans surged, winds howled, and clouds gathered!
Fang Lin let out a quiet “Oh?” and glanced toward the array, where he saw Elder Liu surrounded by what seemed to be True Dragon Qi.
“Such divine strokes. Does that old man truly attempt to recreate the shadow of the True Dragon?” Fang Lin murmured with a smirk.
A moment later, Fang Lin burst into laughter.
“A mere mortal attempting to replicate a True Dragon? How reckless of you!” His voice thundered like a storm, shaking hearts and minds.
Master Liu cast a glance at Fang Lin but remained unmoved and continued his painting.
“Then watch closely. This is what a True Dragon truly is!”
