Chapter 1104: The Inviting Isles

“Hey! Who are you?”

Vicente barely left his ship and heard a loud shout in his direction, followed by a group of 11 locals—something he quickly identified by spotting them and comparing them to the locals moving around near the harbor—approaching him.

His eyes distinguished the 11 Sorcerers in an instant, an unusual sight to see on most of Uzira’s islands.

’This island is powerful. Could it be that I’m on the Inviting Isles?’ He looked around, but couldn’t tell from the information at his grasp if this was indeed the island his group wanted to reach.

The Inviting Isles was not Vicente’s last destination. Previously, he had wanted to pass through the place to learn more about the Nine Paths and strengthen himself before going to the Red Enclave. His journey would continue as far as it took for him to achieve enough to help his family and resolve his old promises.

Other than that, the Inviting Isles was the place where he was most likely to meet Polaris Realm natives and hear the stories and progress of some of these individuals.

Despite the changes in his plans, he still wanted to meet the natives of his plane.

Stopping where he was, he answered with a question the aggressive question of the man who seemed to be the strongest of that group moving to surround him. “Is this the Inviting Isles?”

While some locals walked away agitated, afraid, the group of individuals already surrounding him were between looking at him ugly and laughing at his question.

“Don’t confuse things, foreigner,” said the same individual who questioned his name. “There’s nothing inviting about our nation.”

Vicente looked into the eyes of that individual, a short man, 1.4 meters, with muscular arms like those of a gorilla, a large torso but small legs, with green gelatinous skin and black eyes.

’So this really is the Inviting Isles…’

“But who are you?!” The short man asked again, speaking louder as droplets of saliva flew from his mouth along with his words.

Vicente once again answered with a question, “And why should I answer you?”

“Rascal! You invade our ship and dare to speak to us arrogantly?” The leader of the group took two steps forward, he and his men raising their auras as they threatened to start a fight in the middle of the street.

Vicente, however, was not impressed. Without even summoning his magical forms, he walked forward towards the little green man, acting relaxed.

“Your ship? Where did you get it?” Vicente asked, irritating even more the 5-Star Sorcerer, who confidently thought he had the upper hand in this situation around this human.

“Tsk! You’ll stop talking now and understand who’s in charge here!” the green man shouted as he jumped at Vicente, moving at the same time as his allies.

Shouts from the surrounding area saying how someone would die and how everyone should protect themselves spread amidst the action of the 11 individuals acting against Vicente. But he didn’t lose his calm, feeling the power of the infernal crown acting on him.

Ever since he had acquired this item from Devil Abby and strengthened it, Vicente had felt a calm that was hard to describe. He didn’t get angry easily before, but now he felt like a buddha. For someone to stir him up to the point where he showed irritation, they would have had to go way beyond all limits. At the same time, his thoughts seemed calmer, cooler, his eyes focused only on what mattered.

Even though he felt that these men had done something against Larissa, Rex, and Lyra, Vice remained calm, in control of himself and the situation.

As the men moved to attack him, he didn’t reveal his pentagrams or his magical form to counterattack. Using the shadows and the ambient light, Vicente cracked a smile on his lips, forcing the group in the air to paralyze for an instant as they felt the mistake they had made.

While the onlookers watching the situation unfold didn’t understand what was going on, the 11 enemies saw 5 demons of light and 5 demons of darkness appear around Vicente, staring directly into their souls.

The weakest of them tried to scream in horror, but before they had the chance, they felt the light or darkness of Vice consume their souls, taking them away from life on this plane of existence.

Of the 11 opponents, 9 fell lifeless to the ground before they could do anything against Vicente, while only two of them remained alive.

The 5-Star Sorcerer, leader of the group, fell to his knees on the ground under heavy pressure, while his last companion agonized for a few moments before exploding, spreading darkness throughout the surroundings as if he were a living barrel of corrupt black liquid.

The remains of the last man to die corrupted the places it touched, degrading pieces of wood, steel and even living beings, decomposing them at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Vicente stopped in front of the man who had questioned him a moment ago, forcing him to look him in the eye. “How did you get my ship?”

The man trembled with fear at hearing this question, recognizing not only the strength of this human but also the reason for Vicente’s brutality in dealing with them.

He swallowed his saliva and trembled as he tried to answer, “Pity, s-senior, pity! We d-didn’t know this w-was your s-ship!”

Vicente narrowed his eyes, but didn’t need to repeat his question. “Your c-comrades are a-alive!” The man shouted, afraid of being killed on the spot. “We f-found their s-ship years ago. Then we took i-it and sold its c-crew on the o-other side of the island.”

“Where are they now?” Vicente asked as he bent down and grabbed the man by the scruff of his neck, unable to help but squeeze his enemy a little harder than he should have.

Almost losing his voice, the Sorcerer said with difficulty, “I w-wouldn’t know. But I k-know how to f-find them.”

“Good.” Releasing the man, Vicente revealed a violet pentagram, something unusual even among Sorcerers, enough to make some onlookers widen their eyes as they looked at it.

“Now you’re going to guide me around this island.”

As he finished speaking, Vicente saw his pentagram enter the body of the enemy, taking that creature’s mind under his control, making it an extension of his eyes, ears, and soul senses.

“Take me to the place where you sold them.” Vicente gave his first order.

Then, from where the bodies of the 9 individuals lay, this man’s former subordinates stood up, attracting as much attention to themselves as Vicente’s pentagram.

Local guards appeared in the area, but did nothing, hesitating in front of someone capable of controlling death.

Vicente’s undead didn’t look like ordinary beings, having deformed appearances and, more importantly, negative auras that were hard to mistake.

Vicente just walked past the onlookers and guards, not rushing in front of a group clearly incapable of stopping him.

Even so, he muttered on his way, “I’m not worried about news of this spreading. But if I get into trouble, even in death you won’t have peace.”

While ordinary people were pissing themselves and trembling with fear, even the experts in the area were frozen in their positions, not daring to look Vicente’s way as he left.

He just smiled at their behavior, going on his way, enjoying this new experience.

’It’s good to be strong. Not having to hide and being able to do what I want is really interesting!’

He disappeared with his group into the shadows, leaving the city in search of his companions.
