Her face was as pale as paper, Laventia urged her Nightkiss Moths to fly as fast as they could away from the battlefield.
Not wanting to make what they assumed would be an easy mission harder, they held back their main forces to avoid drawing the Wanderers’ attention.
They thought the Bloodfeather Harpies, the Harp Queens, the Venom Wyvern, the two Nightkiss Moths, as well as the giant purple snail, Ossan, would be more than enough to capture two teenage girls in a blitzkrieg operation.
But just as their operation was about to wrap up, something unexpected happened.
The Saintess dove down from the sky and landed on the ground.
Thinking she had given up, Princess Laventia immediately ordered the Harpies to capture her.
Just as her subordinates were about to secure their target, a portal appeared behind Shana, and powerful monsters emerged from it.
Khan, Lord Zorca, and Harahon, as well as their subordinates, appeared out of nowhere and engaged the Harpies in battle.
These monsters were accompanied by four Rank 6 Steel Ape Sovereigns, as well as 6 Rank 6 Feral Monkeys, who focused on protecting the Saintess, alongside the Goblin Emperor and Harahon.
Khan, who was the strongest of the three, charged at the giant purple snail. Zion had the capture of the snail for research purposes.
Lord Zorcan was a Goblin Emperor, but he managed to learn Earth Magic during the years he had been imprisoned inside the Domain of the Apocalypse.
The constant barrage of Earth Spikes forced the Nightkiss Moths and the Harpies to retreat.
In the end, after seeing the giant purple snail getting subjugated by Khan, Princess Laventia didn’t hesitate and ordered her forces to fully retreat.
As they sped back to their base, they hoped their enemy would be too preoccupied with Prince Zorren, giving her time to escape.
Fortunately for her, Thirteen had no intention of capturing her.
At least not yet.
He allowed the Majin Princess to escape so she could spread the news to her cohorts that Prince Zorren had been captured.
Not to mention, after capturing Princess Aracelle, Thirteen wasn’t in the mood to subjugate another Princess.
The thing he wanted the most was to personally deal with Prince Zorren, who had targeted his women.
“Are you sure you want to let her go?” Zed asked Zion through his communicator.
“Yes,” Thirteen replied. “We can capture her at a later time. Secure that prince first and send him to the Domain of the Apocalypse. I’ll deal with him later.”
“How about the Harpy Queen?” Zed inquired.
“Ask Princess Aracelle if she’s interested in keeping it as a pet,” Thirteen answered.
The Princess, who was hovering right beside Zed, had heard everything Zion had said.
She then glanced at the Harpy Queen, which was currently pinned down by Harahon on the ground, preventing it from escaping.
After careful consideration, she nodded her head. No matter what, having a Rank 7 Sovereign as a subordinate for free was a good deal.
Besides, this would weaken the manpower of Princess Laventia, whom she didn’t get along with even in their homeworld of Gomorra.
“I’ll take it,” Princess Aracelle replied.
“Good.” Thirteen nodded. “Send it to the Domain as well.”
Ossan had already been taken by Khan back to the Domain of the Apocalypse, and all the Wanderers that it had taken control of earlier were knocked unconscious by the members of Zion’s monster army.
They would only remember what happened at the beginning of the ambush, and the rest would be handled by Erica and Shana.
“What do you want me to do, Master?” Princess Aracelle asked.
Since she was in public, she didn’t dare to call Thirteen by his name and acted as his subordinate.
“What do you want to do?” Thirteen asked back. “I can return your forces to you, and you can go back to Alcove City to rebuild it. You will then act as a spy for me and keep tabs on the movements of the other Jinns.”
“Master, I heard you were sick,” Princess Aracelle said. “I want to take care of you until you feel better.”
Erica, who was only a distance away from the Princess, couldn’t help but eye the lady whose beauty could cause the downfall of a nation.
She wasn’t sure if it was because her fiancé’s charm was too strong, but the Princess was acting like a newlywed still basking in the honeymoon phase.
Thirteen didn’t answer right away. Instead, he closed his eyes and pondered whether agreeing to Princess Aracelle’s request would disrupt his plans or not.
After a minute had passed, the teenage boy asked a question.
“Is Siri there?” Thirteen asked.
“Yes,” Zed replied, eyeing the young lady who was still mounted on top of her Greater Bird of Paradise.
“Call her over. I want to talk to her,” Thirteen ordered.
Zed nodded and approached Siri, allowing the two to converse.
After two minutes of discussion, Siri agreed to take Princess Aracelle to Casimir City.
“That is my original intention,” Siri replied.
“Did your mother order you to do anything else?” Thirteen inquired.
“No.” Siri shook her head. “My mother is taking an off-handed approach when it comes to me. She wants me to make my own decisions and deal with the consequences that follow them. Ah! I almost forgot. She wants me to pass a message to you.”
“And that is?”
“She said it will be best if you do not bully Princess Aracelle too much.”
“I see.” Thirteen nodded. “Very well. Take Aracelle to these coordinates. I’ll send Cristopher and a few members of the 69th Battalion to pick the two of you up and escort you back here in Casimir City.”
“Okay,” Siri replied. “But there will be no danger to her life, right? I’m sure when the Cygni Coalition hears that she’s back, they will definitely come and try to take her away for interrogation.”
“Don’t worry about them,” Thirteen said. “I’ll deal with them if they ever make a move.”
Siri’s mother had told her to keep an eye on Princess Aracelle because she would play an important role in the Jinn Invasion.
This was why she couldn’t allow her distant cousin to be taken away by the other humans, who had malicious designs for her.
“Erica, will you and Shana continue to go to Myrtle City?”
The teenage boy had sent a separate message to the Sorceress to ask her about her plans.
“I want to return to Casimir City as soon as I can, but Shana and I need to continue our duty and meet with the soldiers in Myrtle City,” Erica replied. “I’m sure they have noticed the commotion by now. Maybe they already sent forces to investigate what happened.
“It will be best if we assure them that we have managed to repel our kidnappers to prevent panic from spreading in the front lines.”
“A good decision,” Thirteen commented. “I will send Rocky later to escort you girls when you make a return trip to Casimir City.”
“Thank you, Zion,” Erica said with a smile.
The rings her fiancé had crafted with so much effort, to the point of working himself sick in the process, had played a crucial role in keeping her and Shana from being captured. Without them, both of them might have already been dragged back to Prince Zorren’s lair.
She was certain they would be subjected to unimaginable kinds of humiliation and degeneration, which would satisfy the Prince’s lustful tendencies.
Even from afar, she could feel how deeply the teenage boy cared for them, warming her chest with the thought of being protected by the one she had chosen as her lifelong partner.
“What do you plan to do with Prince Zorren?” Erica asked.
“Put him to good use,” Thirteen replied in a casual tone. “And once his value has been squeezed to their very last, I’ll feed him to the fishes.”
However, Erica could tell that her fiancé’s eyes were filled with murderous intent.
Clearly, he had no intention of letting the Prince of the Skavari Race live, especially after what he tried to do with his women.
“Understood.” Erica nodded. If you are going to torture him, can I watch?”
“No,” Thirteen replied in a heartbeat.
“Eh? Why?”
“Because you won’t like it.”
Thirteen had many ways of torturing someone, and he didn’t want Erica to see any of them.
He didn’t want her to see him torture the Prince not because he didn’t want her to witness the Prince’s suffering.
No.
Zion didn’t want Erica to see his “inhumane side.”
He didn’t want her to suddenly be fearful of him, which might put a strain on their current relationship.
Seeing how firm the teenage boy’s stance was, Erica reluctantly took a step back from the discussion and no longer insisted on watching as he dealt with the Skavari Prince.
