A Day Later…
The elders and servants failed to trace the whereabouts of Kent. The Pool master is in a state of madness and curses every single one to find out about Kent’s location.
Elder Liam felt happy after hearing news of missing Kent.
Meanwhile the Pool Master is spending a great fortune to heal his son completely. Dealing with poison became a headache as Kent’s poison was self made and novice to all elderly healers.
A full day had passed since the pill had entered Kent’s soul. The Mystic Sky Antelope cave was calmer now, yet everyone remained on edge.
Sparky refused to sleep. He lay beside Kent with his tail wrapped protectively around him.
Princess Nyara and the old man stood outside as guards.
Inside—suddenly—Kent’s fingers curled. A heartbeat. His lips parted, and a low groan escaped.
Then… His eyes opened.
Gold and stormlight flickered within his pupils. His chest rose with a heavy breath, and a wave of energy burst from his body, pushing a gentle breeze through the cave. He looked around slowly, confused but alive.
“W-where…?” he muttered weakly.
The silence lasted only a heartbeat more before Sparky screamed in joy, letting out a rumbling squeal. The dragon leapt forward, licking Kent’s face with big sloppy strokes, tears brimming in his golden eyes.
Then came the fox twins, pouncing onto Kent’s legs with squeaky yelps. The stone badger rolled toward him and curled at his side like a boulder of warmth.
“Enough! You’ll crush him!” Antelope Matriarch stepped in but smiled faintly.
Kent closed his eyes again for a minute, this time not in pain—but in peace.
Kent slowly sat up on the soft coral bed, his upper body bare, bandaged with sea silk, wounds still faintly glowing with golden lightning scars. The last memory he had before collapsing was of a great storm, blood, betrayal, and a voice that called him from the depths.
“You’re awake,” came a voice as melodic as it was powerful.
He turned to see her—Princess Nyara of the Naga Clan, standing tall, her serpentine lower body coiled regally behind her. Her long aquamarine hair flowed like water even in the still air, and her eyes shimmered with a strange, celestial wisdom.
Beside her stood an older Naga man who is the grandfather of Nyara, his scales like dark jade, bearing the calm yet crushing aura of an ancient being.
“I am Nyara,” she said, voice like crystal wind, “Second Princess of the Sea Ancestral Temple. This is my grandfather, Elder Sha Drak, one of the Five ministers of the Naga Court.”
Kent slowly bowed his head, wincing at the movement. “Thank you… for saving me. I owe you my life.”
But Nyara only smiled coldly. “Don’t thank me just yet. I didn’t save you for free.”
Kent’s eyes narrowed slightly. He sat straighter, the pain sharpening his awareness. “Then why?”
She stepped closer, a trace of amusement playing at the corner of her lips. “Because I need a favor. And it’s one only someone like you can fulfill. In exchange, you’ll gain strength, knowledge, and perhaps even revenge.”
The word “revenge” made Kent’s eyes flicker.
“What favor?” he asked.
She turned her back to him, her fins fluttering gently. “I’ll explain… on the way.”
At that moment, a blaze of heat rippled through the chamber.
Sparky, now in his humanoid form, leaned against the far wall. His fiery-red skin glowed like molten rock, and his wild flame-like hair danced with every breath. His golden eyes flashed with irritation.
“This is nonsense,” Sparky grumbled. “Why don’t we go back to the Immortal Living Pool Mountain? You never lost that battle against that bastard Lee. You held back, Master! Everyone saw it! You can get all the resources they promised.”
Kent clenched his fists as he looked at Sparky. “That’s not the point. It’s not about Lee anymore.”
“Then what?”
Kent’s voice dropped, calm and cold. “The true culprit was Bu Dong, the Pool Master himself. He allowed his son to act recklessly. He approved the life-and-death match. He set me up from the beginning.”
A tense silence filled the cave.
Kent stood slowly, bare feet touching the cool floor. “For that… he’ll face the consequences. But not now. First, I need to regain my strength. I need a foundation. A direction. A path. More importantly a weapon.”
Nyara turned back to him, her expression unreadable. “Then let’s go. Time is short.”
But Kent raised a hand. “I’ll come… on one condition.”
The princess stopped mid-turn. Her eyes narrowed. “What is it?”
Kent looked straight into her glowing eyes. “Do you know the location of the Muni Naga, the weapon craftsman mentioned by the Dragon ancestor?”
Nyara froze for a split second. It was barely perceptible—a twitch of the eye, a ripple in her aura—but Kent noticed it. She immediately smoothed her expression, nodding.
“I do. And I will take you to him.”
Kent didn’t reply immediately. He stood in silence, looking at the pool of water beside him, his reflection rippling with every breath. His mind drifted through memory—from the King Family, to the Kulu Nation, then to the Immortal Living Pool Academy, and now, here again, on the verge of another journey.
“I’ve been tossed like a used plate,” he thought bitterly. “From one place to another… never stable, never rooted.”
Every time he thought he found a place to grow stronger, someone forced him to flee. Someone made a decision for him. He remembered the sneers of the Kai family, the schemes of the Hua family, and the cold hypocrisy of Bu-Dong.
His blood simmered as he clenched his fists.
“They thought i’m just an easy target. They tried to bury me.”
He looked at his hands—once trembling with weakness, now growing stronger again, bit by bit.
“But I’ll return to collect what is mine.”
His breath deepened, chest rising with the force of the promise he carved into his soul.
“The day will come,” he whispered aloud, “when everyone will bow. For the lies they told… the traps they laid… the homes they burned… They will reap what they sow.”
