The Flame Valley wasn’t a place Kent was familiar with, so he merely followed the map to the location. However, upon reaching the place, he was greeted with a rather scorching sight.

Flame Valley was a vast and treacherous expanse of molten rock, volcanic fissures, and smoldering ash fields, situated between the jagged peaks of the Crimson Mountains and the ash-choked forests that bordered the Elven and Half-Elf kingdoms.

His enchanted eyes were only able to give him a little, but at least he knew the Half-Elf Kingdom was situated in the northern part of the Flame Valley, which could be reached without having to go through the Elf Kingdom.

He appeared in the southern part of the Flame Valley, meaning he must traverse the torturous expanse of vast, scorching land to reach his destination.

Of course, there was a red warning attached to the information he gathered.

⟦Danger: Entering the Inner and Core area of the Flame Valley is prohibited if you value your life⟧

Kent held a grin on his face as he read the message.

“Do I value my life?” he asked himself, and then, using Chaos’ voice, he answered himself.

“Probably not… But I better not die.”

“Since this sounded harrowing, I might as well use this time to strengthen my Chaos Soul Flame. This way, I wouldn’t pale in comparison to those snotty kids who think they can measure up to my greatness.”

After ensuring his life was precious and shouldn’t be taken for granted, he decided to brave the danger. Three days—that was a long time to go around the Flame Valley through the west if he wanted to reach the Half-Elf Kingdom.

But now, he wanted to go through the thick and thin, which was bound to be dangerous by all standards.

Just like that, Kent entered the scorching landscape fraught with jagged stones and spiked earth. The patches of what remained of the forest looked even eerier, considering the trees stood with their leaves burning.

The domain of flames had transformed everything, including the very process of growth. Naturally, this means bad news for Kent since everything is almost guaranteed to kill him.

However, there was a silver lining to it.

Despite its dangers, the moment Kent found himself in there, his Eternal Draconic Jade Body started to adapt to the flame.

⟦Intense Flame Energy discovered. Your Eternal Draconic Jade Body has started Adapting⟧

⟦Your Flame Resistance grows Stronger⟧

This means the deeper he went, the higher his chances of climbing the charts of flame resistance. Of course, in flame elemental cultivation, there is Flame Comprehension and Flame Resistance.

Comprehension is the act of learning how to use the flame element as a whole, while Resistance is how to resist and defend…

Having a high comprehension of the flame allows for more flexible handling of the flame element in attacks, while resistance provides a more robust defense against it.

Comprehension: Weak ↠ Medium ↠ High ↠ Super ↠ Perfect ↠ Transcendent ↠ Harmony ↠ Perfect Harmony

Resistance: Weak ↠ High ↠ Super ↠ Perfect ↠ Immunity ↠ Perfect Immunity

So far, Kent had started walking the Resistance path, but that was all he could do, as his comprehension would come about when he acquired a flame art and started mastering it.

As Kent moved deeper into the valley, the heat became unbearable, but after a few minutes, his body would adapt, and he would continue to move forward.

After moving about four miles deeper into the domain of fire, he encountered his first flame beast.

⟦Name: BlazeFang Wolf⟧

⟦Bloodline: None⟧

⟦Realm: Root Ascension (Lvl 4)⟧

⟦Flame Spirit: None⟧

It wasn’t that impressive, considering it had no bloodline and also wasn’t a flame spirit he could feed to his Chaos Flame. The beast was also just too weak for someone like Kent.

However, when it moved, Kent was taken aback by how fast it reached him. It was an instantaneous dash that brought it close to Kent, claws moving for a swipe.

Kent was quick, though, so he dodged effortlessly, causing the attack to land on the ground, creating a scorching shockwave.

Before Kent could move in for an attack, the ground where he landed burst open, sending him flying up. He was caught off guard, but thankfully, he was able to stabilize early to handle the third attack from the wolf.

“Damn, this beast is more ferocious than even the spiders me and the girls killed in the dungeon,” Kent found it fascinating how the BlazeFang Wolf was fighting.

It first attacked with a claw mimicking the attack of a FlameClaw Wolf, then it followed with a tail attack, taking the classic move of Lava Serpents, who love to attack using their tails.

Those attacks mostly involve exploding the ground or throwing fire at their opponents. Then, when those two attacks were executed flawlessly, Kent found himself a few inches away from two piercing fangs of the wolf.

Many have fallen to this attack since, if care is not taken, the first two attacks would overwhelm you, and then your head becomes dinner for the cunning wolf.

However, Kent was no easy target, so he merely grabbed one of the fangs and yanked it out. Then, with a precise attack, he drove the fang through the neck of the wolf, ending it.

“That was dangerous to some extent,” Kent couldn’t deny. He had nearly fallen victim to a cunning attack from a level 4 Root Ascension stage wolf, and that was just too shocking.

“Tower, how do you explain the battle just now?”

⟦The master had just experienced what it felt like to fight a beast located in one of the most hostile environments.

Depending on the environment you find yourself in, you learn to adapt… the BlazeFang Wolf adapted and even learned to wield the skills of different beasts.

It wanted to survive, so it learned, adapted, and hunted until it met you. However, that doesn’t mean it would have fallen if it had met someone weaker.

Just as you and your legion are growing beyond your limits, many others are also growing, adapting, and seeking greater strength.

So heed my warning and take a detour; trust me, it’s for your own good. But if you want to keep going deeper, then be ready to take every battle seriously, else you will learn it the hard way⟧

“No need to worry about me, though… but thank you for warning me. I will handle things according to how they appear.”

Deep within, Kent was pumped for danger. He wanted his life to be in danger… he wanted to push his strength to the limit, and he wanted to know what it feels like to fight a life-and-death battle.
