MY WEREWOLF SYSTEM

Chapter 1212 - 1212: Don't Give It Your Best

Gary was feeling nervous as he saw Austin step up into the center. The fighting area wasn’t extremely large as there wasn’t much open space in the woods.

Maybe it was the same size as a boxing ring, but not so constrained by having four corners. So it would force them to fight.

It wasn’t that Gary was worried that Austin would lose, even against a five-star hunter he believed Austin would come out on top, it was if they were to get caught out for being what they really were.

‘Limit your strength Austin, don’t show them that you’re an Altered, and at the same time, be skillful enough for them to consider you.’

Pluto stood opposite, drawing out his single sword, and held it in front of him.

While Austin wasted no time as he started to swing his chain in his arms. The swings were heavy, blowing the leaves around him, and just skimming the ground.

Austin was the first to act, as he swung it out from the chain form the side.

Pluto raised his sword, and hit the chain in the center. The concentration on his face remained as he had been hit by the heavy blow.

Then Pluto was ready to bend his sword at a certain angle, but before he did, Austin had pulled at the chain, and pulled it back, swinging it again from the other side.

Quickly, Pluto lifted his sword and hit the heavy end, this time deflecting the attack.

‘So he knew what I was planning to do,’ Pluto thought. ‘I was going to tangle his little weapon so it was useless. Either he knew, or he just has good instincts, either way both of them are fine.

‘On top of that, he has quite the strength. The others, their arms would be feeling numb if they were to block this many strikes.’

Austin continued to swing the chain, trying to hit Pluto from whatever angle he could, and he was doing everything he could not to go full force.

‘Man this sucks,’ Austin thought. ‘I really hate fighting with weapons. Using fists, feeling when you’re hitting the person, is a lot better. I can sense the danger of when someone’s going to attack and need to think fast.

‘Here I’m just aimlessly swinging this thing trying to hit this guy…this really, really sucks.’

As Austin continued to swing the heavy chain. The Altered hunters and Pluto were impressed.

For one Pluto could tell that the strength of the swings were still just as strong as when they started.

Even though he had been swinging the heavy object for some time now. So not only did he have strength but he also had stamina.

Pluto continued to block the hits, trying to tangle the chain, but Austin was just a little too fast for him to do so.

‘So you have strength, stamina, and have quite the natural instincts. It seems he is quite the expert when it comes to using the weapon. This will come in handy for us.

‘But there is one thing I still need to test out and see before we accept you.’

Pluto tightened his grip around the sword, he poured a particular energy into the weapon, and swung down right at the chain.

This time, he didn’t try to tangle the chain up, instead the chain had been cut right in half.

Half of it had flung to where Trixie was who had lifted her leg and stomped on it stopping it from hurting anyone.

Right after Pluto had cut through the chains, he dashed forward, and then thrusted his sword, ready to hit Austin.

As the sword went forward, Austin had managed to move to the side, and at the same time he felt his foot get caught on a root on the floor, causing him to trip and fall on his back.

‘He cut the chains…and it looked as if he really tried to hurt me with that strike. What the heck does that guy think he’s doing, was he trying to kill me?’ Austin thought.

It was making him a little angry, and he had half a mind to just get up from where he was, and charge right toward Pluto, until he saw the man placing his sword right back in his sheathe.

“This person has passed the assessment,” Pluto claimed. “He has a strong robust body, great stamina, and is skilled using his weapon.

“Most importantly, even after his weapon broke, he didn’t lose the will to fight. I can see the fight is still in his eyes, and he managed to avoid my last strike.

“It is my belief that he will be a great addition to the group.”

Hearing this, the Altered hunters all around started to cheer in succession as they were pleased with the results.

Pluto didn’t help or look at Austin though as he went back into the same position as he did before. While Austin had decided to walk back to the others.

“You did a good job,” Kai said. “I was worried there for a moment. I thought things might get a little bloody.”

“It’s a good thing I never thought about using the weapons in the first place. I was a bit distracted, but him cutting the chain did take me by surprise,” Austin replied back. Wondering how he did that.

Sure he could snap a chain apart by pulling them, but he was an Altered and the person in front of them were meant to be human.

“Alright…so who should go next, alright you, the one who is clearly overcompensating for something, picking a weapon that’s obviously far too big for your size, come forward,” Saiber said pointing at Gary.
