136 One Day, I Will Go There

(Jane’s PoV)

Ever since I was in High School, or maybe ever since I started to observe more around me, I noticed something far away in the mountains that surrounding my hometown. After the day grew dark, in the Northern mountains, I used to wonder why there would be lights on it. It was like a bright light lit the whole parts of Northern mountains area. I thought it was where the miners were digging golds, but after an incidental investigation, the area where people dug for golds was the Eastern mountains area.

So, what happened to the Northern part?

Of course, I didn’t say it to anyone, not even to my parents, until one day during my last year in High School, my friend was sending me home. As the night had started for around three hours, I noticed the light was getting brighter. So, I asked my friend whether she saw it or not.

To my surprise, she didn’t see anything. Even though the light was brighter and created a warm halo on the mountains, she didn’t see anything.

Luckily I was smart enough to stop asking her that question. When she asked me what I meant by that, I told her that I saw it wrong. It was nothing.

Up to that point, I was curious. But, I forgot to ask about it to my father. Only when I saw it again that I remembered I did feel curious about that warm light.

Now, after I had fully embraced my own ability, my eyes sparked when I saw the truth behind the light.

All this time, the thing that created that warm halo of yellow light was a big wall. It looked like Great Wall of China from afar, but with bright warm light emitting from it.

.....

Now I wanted to go there!

But, of course I wouldn’t go alone. Maybe I should wait for Sanji to get better and take him there.

“Siji.” I called out without taking my eyes off from the massive building.

“Here, Milady.” Siji appeared beside me.

“What’s there?” I nodded to the direction of the big castle.

“If I’m not mistaken, that is a hidden kingdom, but I’m not sure about the name.” Siji replied.

“Hidden kingdom?” I looked at him with a frown. “You mean, it’s like the Hidden Village my father visited before?”

“Not quite the same. The Hidden Village your father visited before was built by humans and there are humans living there as well as souls like us. But, that hidden kingdom, judging from the color of light surrounding it, it was built by the citizens in my dimension. Even though there are humans inside, it will probably not more than ten.” Siji explained.

Ah, so it was like that. “Can I visit it?”

“You want to go there?” Siji was looking at me as if he was looking an idiot.

I frowned. “Why do you look at me like that? Can’t I go?” I scolded him.

“You can. Why not? But, are you sure you want to go there? What if you can’t come back? The place where the ones inside are the citizens of astral world is quite dangerous. When they sensed a human entering their zone, they won’t attack directly. Instead, they will be extremely hospitable to you, making you feel comfortable with them when in reality, they will make the time ran slower in their dimension, yet so fast in humans’ realm. Have you heard about a wife was persuaded to follow one of my kind and when she came back, two weeks had passed? She only felt that she only went for two hours, but her family said that she had been missing for two weeks. That’s what happened when they trapped you inside.” Siji explained seriously.

“Do I have to worry with you guys around me?” I asked ignorantly.

“They will ignore us, but not you. Among the citizens of astral world, there is nothing like how you fought with Shadows or evil forces. If I get into a fight with one of the citizens of astral world, it’s no different with how humans fight with each other. However, it is different if you are the one who get into a fight with them. As two different entities, the fight will never be usual. So, honestly, we can’t do much if you’re not strong enough to protect yourself in our dimension. As I said before, as long as you grow powerful later, our power as your army will increase, too. At that time, no one can mess around with you.” Siji stared right at me seriously.

After hearing his explanation, I kept my mouth shut. Even though I acted like an ignorant little brat, I knew how serious it was regarding matters about their dimension. I was sure I didn’t want to offend ‘anyone’ from their dimension. Once they were offended, their retaliation was not something a normal human could see or protect from.

Offending them was like a never ending nightmare. They knew no bound, time, distance, and condition when they struck. Never mind, I was sure one day I would go there.

Without saying anything, I started the scooter and continued my trip back home. Of course I could still see the majestic sight of the big wall and I still had a desire to go there, but I needed to hold that desire. I would wait until I became powerful enough to walk into astral world openly.

After parking the scooter inside the garage and locked the gate, I opened the door to my house. The lamps on the wall started to lit up by itself the moment I stepped into my house, lighting my way into the house. I had turned off all the main lamps before I went out, and activated these small lamps with motion censor. I rarely activated these small lamps, actually, even if they were actually pretty cool and with the right lamp to turn on and the right angle, the picture taken in this spot would turn out beautiful.

The reason was pretty simple. Since the stairs to the second floor was placed in the opposite corner, it meant whenever I would come down and the house was still pretty dark, I had a direct view to this corner.

What if I saw the lamp was lit one by one while there was no one near it? So much for being a horror lover.

Ever since my father made a small renovation and installed these lamps, I had always thought about that. Therefore, even when I regained my ability to see them, I still didn’t want to use these lamps.

I walked hastily towards where the switch was and planned to brighten up the whole room for several minutes.

But, before my hand could reach the switch, I was stopped with a familiar voice calling out for my name.

“Jane.”

Instinctively, I turned around and what caught my eyes first was... the motion censor lamp right in front of the door was still glowing and two lamps didn’t show any reactions towards motions, which meant...

Something, or someone, was standing in front of the door.

Who? Why couldn’t I see anyone? If it was ghost, why couldn’t I see it?
