MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1503 - 1503: Myriad Prodigies: Retaliation“Ahh…”
“It feels so good to be back.”
Allowing the explosion she caused to subside, Erika had a wide smile on her face as she walked out of the opening she made, glancing at the crowd looking back at her in fear.
Having assimilated the dark aura surrounding her earlier to return to her Lesser Sin form, the woman went ahead and sent out a couple of spells towards the crowd, catching some of them unaware as they were immediately turned into her replenishment.
Whoosh!
Unsurprisingly, with how easy it was for her to kill them, the crowd that had yet to fall prey to her attacks went ahead and did their best to get as far away from her as possible, following the directions Julian and the two other arbiters gave them that led out of the amphitheater.
But of course, with her planning to do a second ritual to her god this time around, she wasn’t going to let go of such precious resources that easily.
“[Scarlet Maelstrom].”
Sending a large amount of crimson orbs towards the people closest to her, Erika continued where she left off on her incantation, speeding up the pronunciation of each syllable in the process.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Although many of her targets immediately succumbed to the orbs she threw, a lucky few were still able to either defend or dodge the attack, giving them the opportunity to finally escape from her clutches once and for all.
“…Tsk.” Though she felt slight annoyance at the fact that she could’ve obtained just a bit more resources for the ritual she was planning, Erika did not lose sight of the original goal she had in mind, continuing to chant words as she moved closer to the amphitheater.
“[Sanguine Cataclysm].”
Taking a brief look of her surroundings, she went ahead and conjured a large wave of crimson energy on one side of the amphitheater, its might at least hundreds of times greater than the ones she conjured against the military squad she previously fought.
Feeling like she had finally removed all of the shackles binding her all this time, Erika watched as the crimson wave wreaked havoc, causing her to grin immensely with delight.
However, before the wave could even hit the people on that side of the amphitheater…
“[Aegis of the Pyrrhia Forges]!”
“[Algerie Secret Art: Parting the Seas]!”
“[Burden of Earth]!”
Bang!
Out of nowhere, three large defensive skills appeared before the crimson wave all of a sudden, forming a massive wall that made it difficult for the crimson wave to pass through.
Confident in the Myth-level strength she wielded, Erika infused a bit more energy into the wave she conjured, thinking that the slight infusion would be enough to cause the defensive skills to crumple from its might.
Swoosh!
Yet, contrary to the expectations she had in mind, the skills blocking the wave from moving further remained steadfast, with each one glowing brightly as if they were making a mockery of her attempts.
“…Hmph.” Realizing that achieving the full scale of her planned ritual had now become difficult, Erika went ahead and dispelled the crimson wave without hesitation, allowing those that were about to be hit by it at first to let out wide sighs of relief.
Though, just as they were relieved at escaping the jaws of death…
“[Amaranthine Skyfall].”
A different crimson-colored attack befell upon them once more, only for the same attack to appear on another side of the amphitheater a couple of seconds later.
“[Pyrrhia Secret Defensive Art: Aegis Expansion]!”
“[Algerie Secret Art: Covering the Skies]!”
“[Carving the Mountains]!”
Nevertheless, the ones that cast those defensive skills earlier seemed to have expected her response to their defenses, conjuring skills that covered both sides of the amphitheater before the attacks could land.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Feeling a bit of rage and annoyance starting to well up inside her, Erika slightly began to frown as she doubled down on the cascade of attacks she sent.
At the same time, she yelled out the names of the people that she thought were behind the defenses blocking her.
“Julian! Liam! Eliathaea! Are you really going to stop me?!”
Whoosh!
As if the three had agreed upon it beforehand, Julian and the other two appeared a fair distance away from Erika at the same time, their expressions solemn as they looked at her as if she was their greatest enemy.
“Do we really need to answer that question?” Julian responded, his expression a mix of disappointment and disgust. “You’re just gonna kill everyone here anyway.”
“Has the past couple of weeks not changed your impression of me even one bit?” she responded, their skills still wreaking havoc in the background.
“Ever since the first day of the tournament, I’ve already thought of you as an odd person,” said Eliathaea in return as she faintly shook her head. “Now, you’re not just odd… but also ruthless.”
“…So be it.” Remaining silent for a bit after that, Erika looked back at them before dispelling her attack once more.
Seeing as their fellow arbiter had made the decision to dispel her attack beforehand, the three could not help but inwardly let out wide sighs of relief, thinking that it would be great if the current situation did not escalate any further.
However…
Rumble…
Continuing to keep their defensive skills active for the audience that had yet to leave the amphitheater, Julian and the others gazed at Erika from afar, watching as strands upon strands of crimson energy began to condense above her head.
“…Got any idea on how to defend against that?” Sensing the might of the agglomeration gradually increasing by the second, Julian forcefully took in a deep breath before looking at the two beside him.
“…I don’t think my strongest defensive skill can handle that,” said Liam, his expression grim as he watched the crimson amalgamation grow larger.
“…I think our best option here is to just dodge it,” uttered Eliathaea after that, feeling no hope for any of them to defend the remaining audience from the attack.
Though, just as they began to feel a sense of loss and despair from it…
A certain person made their move.
“[Four Paths Azure Magic Arts].”
“[Four Paths Azure Zenith].”
