MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1502 - 1502: Myriad Prodigies: Pandemonium“Hmm…?”
Noticing Erika stand up all of a sudden, Julian began to slightly frown as he recalled the warning Valyr had given to him about her.
At this point, the three arbiters were more privy to the fact that a couple of participants were cooperating with Lunarossa to apprehend Erika.
Considering that the chosen participants needed to have a decent level of strength should the need to fight her arose, the three weren’t surprised to hear that both Valyr and Ataraxia were the ones cooperating with the director on the matter.
Of course, it was also because of that arrangement that Julian heeded Valyr’s warning seriously, asking Erika in a slightly inquisitive tone. “Where are you going?”
“The restroom,” Erika replied, her tone aloof as she began to make her way down the platform arranged for the arbiters.
However, rather than accept her response at face value, Eliathaea looked back at her with slightly narrowed eyes as she asked, “Do you want me to come with you?”
“…No need.” Remaining silent for a bit, Erika eventually declined the offer, looking back at the woman with a slightly annoyed expression. “I can go there by myself.”
“Er…” Wondering whether they were just overthinking things after hearing Erika had sacrificed close to 200 people, the three looked at each other for a bit before letting the woman go the restroom.
Nevertheless, although they didn’t say anything else after that, the three still arranged one of the military squads assigned to her to trail her from behind, making sure that she was indeed heading where she told them to.
“I sure hope we’re just overreacting,” muttered Julian as he watched Erika’s silhouette leave his field of vision.
Nodding in agreement to his words, both Liam and Eliathaea watched her disappear from their fields of vision as well, only to then return their focus back to the main platform where Valyr stood.
Not long after, Julian did the same thing as the two, feeling a hint of anticipation for the fight that would unfold between Valyr and his opponent.
Yet, for some reason, he could not help but feel a bit of worry.
…
“…Are all of you really planning to follow me into the women’s restrooms?”
Stopping just a few steps away from the restroom entrance, Erika turned to glance at the military squad trailing her from behind, looking at them with a slightly annoyed frown.
“We will not,” replied the squad leader, taking a step forward as he looked back at her with a serious expression. “However, we’ve been tasked to keep an eye on you at all times.”
“An eye on me at all times, huh…?” murmured Erika in response, letting out a sigh as she faintly shook her head.
“Have you ever given it the thought that it might just be a tad bit annoying?”
Bang!
Just as those words left her mouth, an agglomeration of crimson energy surrounded the squad leader’s head, causing it to burst into chunks as Erika clenched her fists.
Though the remaining squad members felt their blood run cold the moment they saw such indifference towards the loss of life, they still reminded themselves of the task they were assigned to accomplish, charging forward with the hopes of stopping Erika in her tracks.
“…You really think that’s enough to stop me?” Watching the people before her force themselves into formation before charging, a look of amusement briefly appeared on the woman’s face as a slight tinge of black began to color her aura.
With her complexion gradually turning ghastly pale, Erika then waved her arm at the charging squad, causing a wave of crimson energy to appear from the ground and engulf all of them.
Swoosh!
Although half of them weren’t able to react the wave of crimson energy in time, the remaining half were still able to escape from the crimson wave’s might… albeit not in the best state to fight.
“Hoh? You were even able to survive that?” Glancing at the remaining half with a mix of both interest and amusement, Erika let out a slight chuckle as she conjured yet another wave of crimson energy, faintly imbuing it with the same black aura that covered her body.
“Since you’re so resilient… that settles it.”
“You guys are my first batch of sacrifices, then.”
…
Whoosh!
Although most of Valyr’s attention was on his opponent, the young man still could not help but sneak glances towards the arbiters every once in a while, feeling a slight hint of dread at the thought of something bad going on.
“What’s wrong, Mythslayer?” His opponent asked him, laughing as he sent a flurry of blades at the young man. “Worried that you’d lose to me without even putting up a fight?”
“…” In response, Valyr remained silent, focusing part of his attention towards the arbiters as he decided to retaliate against his opponent.
Swoosh!
Returning himself to peak condition by reactivating all his buffs, the young man swiftly closed the gap between them and peppered his opponent with a series of spells.
Being forced to block all of the spells out of the might they contained, the opponent eventually lost track of where Valyr was, mostly due to the fact that the latter decided to use his stealth skill all of a sudden.
Having watched Valyr’s fight multiple times since then, the man knew that the most likely place where the former would end up was behind him.
Thus, without hesitation, the man proceeded to turn around and send a downward slash… only to find no trace of the young man whatsoever.
“Hm?” Although he was slightly bewildered not seeing Valyr behind him, the man continued to remain vigilant towards his surroundings, eventually finding the young man standing near the edge of the main platform.
“…Are you giving up?” Sensing his opponent look at him, Valyr turned around and asked this question to the former.
“Not yet,” the man replied, gripping his blade even tighter as he thought about how the young man basically toyed around with him with just a few spells here and there.
Yet, just as he was about to unleash another one of his attacks at Valyr…
Bang!
A large explosion occurred from the right side of the amphitheater, sending the crowd there into chaos as those directly hit had mostly succumbed to the explosion’s might.
Taking note of the crimson strands making up the explosion, Valyr’s expression turned solemn as he glanced at his opponent for a bit, who’d understandably stopped his actions after seeing the proceedings of the tournament veer off course.
Giving his opponent a faint nod, he then shifted his focus towards Julian and the others, who immediately got to work moving the audience away from the amphitheater as fast as possible.
Understanding that it would take some time for the entire audience to evacuate from the premises, Valyr steeled himself for what was to come as he sent a message to Lunarossa regarding the unexpected situation.
After receiving a reply that she was already making a move on her end, the young man closed the screen he brought up before asking his current opponent a question.
“Hey…”
