Chapter 756
Bear-san Goes to the Desert Town
We were standing in front of the Bear Transfer Gate.
“Please come again.” (Sakura)
Sakura seemed a little lonely.
“I wish Sakura could come with us.” (Noa)
“It’s too sudden. Also, I can’t be away for days without preparations.” (Sakura)
Sakura had other plans, so she couldn’t come with us.
She said she changed her plans to be free for a day yesterday.
“I’ll come again with everyone.” (Yuna)
“Yes, I’ll ask Yuna-san to bring us again next time.” (Noa)
Noa and the others looked at me.
“I am fine with bringing everyone, but only if you get permission to go out properly.” (Yuna)
I couldn’t let them stay out for days like this time without prior permission.
“So, it’s fine if it’s just a day trip, however.” (Noa)
Indeed, if that was the case, they didn’t need to make an excuse.
“Ugh, I’m jealous of Noa-san and Fina-chan who live in the same town as Yuna-san.” (Misa)
Misa lived in a different town, so she couldn’t just come to visit them for a day trip.
“You’re welcome to come visit Crimonia anytime. You can even live here.”
“Living away from mom and dad…” (Misa)
Misa was still only 10 years old. She probably wouldn’t want to be living away from her parents.
If she did go to school in the royal capital like Noa’s sister Shia, only then would she have to leave their town and live in the city.
So she wouldn’t be away from her parents until then.
“Well, you can always come and join us when everyone gets together.” (Yuna)
“When that happens, come to my place too.” (Ruimin)
Ruimin also lived alone in a different place.
“Yes, I’ll come then.” (Yuna)
I opened the Bear Transfer Gate and connected it to the elf village.
“Well, it was fun meeting everyone. See you again. Visit me also, Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear.” (Ruimin)
“Kuuuuuun”
Ruimin stroked Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear before passing through the door and waving. Sakura and the others waved back at Ruimin.
And then I closed the door of the Bear Transfer Gate.
“Well then, shall we go?” (Yuna)
I opened the door to our next destination.
“Yuna-san, please let me know in advance when you come here again. I’ll clear my schedule. Everyone, it was fun. I’d like to come to your town next time.” (Sakura)
“When that happens, I’ll show you around.” (Noa)
“Of course, I’ll join as well.” (Misa)
“And Shinobu?” (Yuna)
“Please don’t look at me like that. I’ll cry.” (Shinobu)
Shinobu pretended to cry.
But making a promise here would be troublesome, so I looked at Kagali-san and changed the topic.
“Well, if we needed someone to guard Sakura, I would ask Kagali-san to do so.” (Yuna)
“Me?” (Kagali)
“I can trust Kagali-san.” (Yuna)
“Yuna, do you trust Kagali-sama that much?” (Sakura)
“After all, Kagali-san has taken care of me, and she’s an adult.” (Yuna)
Kagali-san might look like a little girl, but she is a reliable person.
Shinobu was always smiling, so it was difficult to tell what she was really thinking.
That was not to say I couldn’t trust her. But if you ask me if I could trust her 100%, I wouldn’t be able to answer right away.
“Fufu, that’s fine. The last time you went, I was just lounging around. Leave it to me. Shinobu, you can leave guarding Sakura to me.” (Kagali)
“Don’t say that!” (Shinobu)
Everyone laughed.
“Hugging Bear-sama, Swaying Bear-sama, please come visit as well.” (Sakura)
“Kuuuuh”
Sakura hugged Hugging Bear and Swaying Bear and said goodbye.
Next, I passed through the Bear Transfer Gate, followed by Hugging Bear and Swaying Bear.
I closed the door while watching Sakura wave her hand.
…
“Sakura-san and Ruimin-san are both good people.” (Noa)
“Kagali-san is a mysterious person.” (Misa)
“Shinobu-san is, how should I put it, difficult to grasp.” (Noa)
Apparently, everyone else felt the same way as I did about Shinobu’s character.
“So, Yuna-san, where are we?” (Noa)
Noa looked around the room.
But she couldn’t tell where we were.
“We are in the desert town, Desierto.” (Yuna)
At first, I thought about the dwarf village, but it wouldn’t be fun to take young ladies there.
So, in the end, I chose this place because I thought it would be more educational to observe a slightly different culture.
“Desierto, the desert town…” (Noa)
“I’m sure it’s a town south of the royal capital, right?” (Misa)
“It’s a town that doesn’t belong to any country.” (Noa)
Noa and Misa answered from the knowledge they have.
“You two are very knowledgeable.” (Yuna)
“They don’t have any connection with Crimonia, so I don’t know a lot about that place, but I do have some basic knowledge about it.” (Noa)
“Yes, me too. But I’ve heard it’s an important town for the country.” (Misa)
Even so, I think it was remarkable for them to know about Desierto at all. It meant that they had been studying diligently.
“I’m looking forward to sightseeing there.” (Noa)
“I know. You can ride birds there.” (Shuri)
Noa and Misa tilted their heads at Shuri’s words.
Shuri was also impressive. Just from the name of the town, she knew which town it was. It meant she had a good understanding of the places she visited before.
“You can ride a bird?” (Noa)
“Yeah, a big bird.” (Shuri)
Shuri used her small body to try to explain the size of the bird to Noa and Misa.
Fina added her own explanations, thinking that Shuri’s explanation wouldn’t get the point across.
“Well, there is a bird big enough for a person to ride. I rode on it with Shuri the last time we came here.” (Fina)
“A bird big enough that a person can ride…” (Noa)
“I’ve never seen such a bird.” (Misa)
It appeared that even Noa and Misa didn’t know about it.
“And then there’s the big lizard.” (Shuri)
“A big lizard, you say?!” (Noa)
Shuri was telling them things she already knew.
Every time she said something, Noa and Misa were surprised.
The big lizard Shuri was talking about was called a Lagarut. In the desert, you ride on one instead of a horse to move around.
It was a monster, but it coexisted with humans.
I sent back Hugging Bear and Swaying Bear, and took Fina and the others out of the house.
“Ugh, it’s hot.” (Noa)
“The heat from the sun here is strong…” (Misa)
“Even so, it’s cooler inside the town, because of the water barrier.” (Yuna)
“Water barrier?” (Noa)
“So it’s even hotter outside the town.” (Misa)
My bear suit regulated my temperature, so I was comfortable in the desert.
I tried taking off my bear hood outside the town before, and the heat was intense.
“Your house here isn’t a bear house, is it?” (Noa)
Noa turned around and said, looking at the house.
“I bought it because a bear house would stand out.” (Yuna)
We walked through the town.
“Yuna-san, what is that!?” (Noa)
“It’s a big lizard.” (Misa)
“Maybe that’s what Shuri was talking about earlier.” (Noa)
“Yeah, it’s a Lagarut.” (Yuna)
“There’s really someone riding it.” (Noa)
“It’s like a horse.” (Misa)
Noa and Misa looked at the Lagarut curiously.
“Want to ride?” (Yuna)
“No, I don’t…” (Noa)
“Me too…” (Misa)
Noa and Misa refused.
Maybe they were not good with reptiles.
Well, I was not good with them either.
“Why, it’s fun.” (Shuri)
Shuri wanted to ride alone.
Perhaps she was at an age where she was full of curiosity.
“But it’s not fluffy, you know.” (Noa)
“If I were to ride, I’d like to ride on Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear.” (Misa)
If Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear had heard that, I think they would have been pleased.
Well, if I had a choice, I would also choose Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear over that big lizard.
For now, since we weren’t interested in riding a Lagarut, we walked around the town, sightseeing.
“As expected, we stand out because we’re dressed differently.” (Yuna)
“Everyone is staring at us.” (Misa)
Noa and Misa said as they looked at their clothes, but I think it’s because of me. Here and there, I heard the words “bear…” and “bear!” and “bear?”.
If I were in a town where I was rarely present, I usually get this kind of reaction.
“Then let’s buy some clothes and get changed.” (Noa)
“Do we have to go that far…” (Misa)
“Noa and Misa are dressed like ladies, so they’ll stand out.” (Yuna)
We just wandered around the town, and when we found a clothing store, we bought some clothes and got changed.
The clothes we all wore were changed into garbs similar to those worn by Carina, an acquaintance of ours in this town.
“By the way, do you know anyone in this town?” (Noa)
As I was thinking about Carina, Noa asked.
“Yes, I do.” (Yuna)
Carina was the daughter of the lord of this town.
She was the girl who accompanied me when I went to conquer the pyramid.
“By the way, just to confirm, is that girl?” (Noa)
“You got it right.” (Yuna)
Noa looked surprised when I said that.
“Do you know that girl, Fina?” (Noa)
“Um, yes. Her name is Carina-chan.” (Fina)
“Are you sure you don’t want to go and see her?” (Noa)
“Carina doesn’t know about that Gate.” (Yuna)
“I see.” (Noa)
Noa and Misa looked a little happy when I said that.
“But I think Carina-chan would be disappointed if we didn’t go and see her after coming here.” (Fina)
Fina answered with Carina’s feelings in mind.
If I went to see her, it wouldn’t be just seeing Carina. I would also have to say hello to Carina’s parents, Balma-san and Listil-san.
I was a little worried about that.
“Yeah, but we’ll be returning soon, so no one will know I’m here.” (Yuna)
“Yuna-san, I doubt that’s possible.” (Noa)
Noa looked around.
People passing by stared at me.
“Your clothes really stand out, Yuna-san.” (Noa)
“You should have changed clothes with us.” (Misa)
No, if I took off my Bear Outfit, I would not be able to protect Fina and the others if something happened, so I couldn’t change out of it.
Well, I couldn’t tell them that.
“That’s right. I’ll come and see her again when I have the time.” (Yuna)
“I’ll come join you at that time” (Noa)
“You want to join?” (Yuna)
“I’m curious what kind of girl Yuna-san helped.” (Noa)
“Well, she’s just a normal girl.” (Yuna)
“I’ll check that for myself when I meet her.” (Noa)
I wondered what she wanted to check.
Anyway, while looking at the townscape, we headed to the place where we could ride birds on the lake at everyone’s request.
