Chapter 1091: 1091 Coordinated Effort

“One thing that you should all know is that there have been changes to how the Witches do magic. Once the Magi were gone, there was a severe lack of Elemental Magic that was needed to keep the survivors going, so the Witches taught their daughters to use a modified version of Elemental Magic control.

At least the ones on this continent did. The ones on the other continents mostly descended from the One World Army, and they stayed reliant upon nature magic and curses.” Wolfe began to explain.

Silvana nodded. “I know that part, we developed the technique for using Elemental Magic for the settlers. They wanted to teach it to their descendants in the colony world, and to a world of humans. So, at least we’re not behind, as we can all use at least a little Elemental Magic.”

“Oh, that saves a lot of explanation. Alright, we can start to rebuild the protective spells if you would like. If not, then having fifteen Saints here should be enough that they can prevent a mana tide without any permanent arrays.” Wolfe agreed.

One of the witches patted her tattered robes, then huffed in annoyance before fixing them with her magic and taking out a small crystal.

“I have the blueprints for the city with me. I pocketed a copy when the bombardment started. If Saint Noxus would like to recreate the welcoming tower and the advancement arrays that were on it, I have all the details.”

Wolfe smiled. “Does that have the spells on every building in town?” He asked.

“No, just the three government buildings, but it’s got the full map and the details for the spells on all the common areas. The private homes were customized by their residents, so I only know a few of them personally from visiting them often.”

She handed over the crystal to Wolfe, and he looked through the records of the public buildings.

One of them was where the undead had exited the underground, one was here, and the final one was on the far side of what remained of the pillar. It used to be next to a park at the edge of town, but now it would have a cliff front view.

“Alright, I can see the design, and the Array that was used to build the tower, so if there are no objections, I can rebuild it. Or, if you would prefer, we can leave everything exactly as it is, as a war memorial.

This was the site of the last battle of the great war, and it feels somehow wrong to be tampering with it.” Wolfe suggested.

The witches gathered to confer about the suggestion, leaving the rest of Wolfe’s group just waiting patiently again.

After a few minutes, Silvana stepped away from the group.

“If you don’t mind, we would like to cast a preservation on this place, to seal the condition both of the surface and the underground areas to exactly how they are today. The last known survivors of the Mountain Nations have been rescued from an eternity as undead, and we have agreed that this place should be sealed and preserved.

We can cast the spells to safely allow the advancement on the surface, and then erase them when we leave before sealing the area.” She announced.

Cassie smiled. “That works well for us. If someone else wants to come advance here, we can create a floating platform over the surface for the spells, and then they can benefit from the location without altering anything.”

Silvana nodded. “The top of the tower was actually the focal point of the mana flows, that was why there was a tower built exactly here, so it would be best to do this advancement in the air as well.”

Wolfe looked up to where the top of the tower would have been. The difference was minimal, but it was slightly better for mana flow than where he was standing at the bottom of the tower.

“Ladies, would you kindly join us over here? I will make a platform to lift us to the optimal position, and then make it permanent and fixed in place with Gravity Magic.”

The witches came over to join the group, and Wolfe lifted them all, then began to make a floating stone platform under their feet to carve the spells into.

Once he had it fixed in place with gravity magic and a mana gathering array to ensure it didn’t fall on the city,

“Is this large enough for all the spells that you need to ensure the safety of an advancement? I will try to keep things under control as I create my final mana core, but Every time I do, there are some side effects.” Wolfe asked.

Silvana shrugged. “I think that it should be. We just need room to stand outside the protective circle around you, and that doesn’t have to be particularly large. Stopping the mana wave closer to your body won’t make it any more difficult than if we did it five metres away.”

They got to work setting barriers with Witch Magic, while Wolfe created a protective array inside the spell circle that the Witches were making.

They had to use their magic to refresh a number of their ingredients, as the stasis spells on their storage bags had expired while they were undead, but there was still enough for whatever they had in mind.

It smelled quite pleasant, and gave Wolfe a feeling like chewing mint gum. If that was their plan, to just make him more relaxed, so the mana flowed more smoothly, this might not be bad at all.

The array that he had made was intended to reflect mana back at himself, designed not to let any surges of power escape, while still allowing mana to flow in and out. If anything, it should be a constant stream, which would just increase the ambient mana in the region.

He had been cautioned that there might be some side effects from having the Pentacles already formed, but it shouldn’t be too serious. They had already experienced the resonance between the Pentacle members during the Witch Saints’ advancement.
