Chapter 1090: 1090 Silvana
Priya stared at the woman in shock. She introduced herself as the daughter of Queen Sylvan, the founder of the Sylvan Coven, where Priya and a few of the others present had grown up.
If she chose to take it up, the leadership of the Sylvan Coven was hers by birthright. Though, after all this time, she might choose to step aside and let the younger generations lead while she advised and reintroduced the old ways that the Rebel Witches were working toward.
Power surged, and her aura flared as the rest of the circle transferred power to her to begin the cleansing.
Her mana control was precise and refined, and the cleansing was drawing much less than Wolfe had expected, while blowing away the corruption on the undead with a gentle breeze.
She was doing them all at once, most likely so that anyone who had become a zombie didn’t attack the first to rise. But it felt nearly effortless, until she began the healing portion.
With hundreds of undead bodies to heal, her capability to channel the circle’s energy was being strained to the maximum. Her body was only Rank Five, and her aura was still unstable from her own resurrection.
Wolfe placed his hands on her shoulders.
“You can use me as a conduit if you need. My body can take significant amounts of mana transfer.” He explained.
Silvana didn’t hesitate and redirected the mana she was controlling to flow from the circle through him instead of through her, and then she began to increase the flow for the healing spells.
“Tell me when you are reaching your limits.” She reminded him.
“We’re at less than one percent of my limits now. The thirteen of you can’t push enough to reach my limits.” Wolfe whispered in her ear, making her shiver.
She seemed to take that as a challenge, and focused on getting more mana every second until the entire horde of undead was surrounded in a Saint Rank healing glow that was practically vibrating with power.
In a matter of seconds, they were beginning to look like proper Witches again instead of undead.
Within a minute, they were all looking around at their surroundings, trying to understand what had happened to them.
“Sisters, welcome back to the land of the living. These are the Pentacle Members of Patriarch Noxus, who came to get us as promised, though it was his successor, as the original fell during the final battle of the war.
As promised, the slaves are free, everyone in the world has the chance to be a citizen of their home, but much has changed.
I don’t understand myself, but these Saints have assured me it’s for the best.” She declared.
The Witches slowly made their way out, and Wolfe noticed that they were all younger, Rank Three and Four young women, with only the one Rank Five Witch among them.
“What happened to the Magi? I can tell that he’s a Magi, but that mana flow, and his aura reeks of blood and death.” One of the witches, a tan skinned, black-haired girl in her mid-teens, asked.
Wolfe patted her on the head and smiled gently. “Getting things in order was not easy, so the pacifist ways of the Magi were set aside for the moment. But soon, the world should be peaceful again.”
A witch with eyes the same vibrant orange as her hair leaned forward to examine Wolfe.
“His mana cores look and feel like he’s from the Lowest Planes, perhaps Pandemonium or Tartarus. But if you ignore his mana, and whatever he did to the mana flows in his body, he’s all Magi.”
The others seemed to have forgotten that there were other people around, and Risa chuckled at Cassie with a meaningful look at the scene.
“It never changes, does it? He does something insane, and everyone gets so curious about it that they forget we exist.” Cassie whispered to the big demon.
It wasn’t quite low enough, and some of the Witches turned to give them apologetic looks as they finished examining Wolfe. They had never seen anything like his mana configuration before, but they had seen Witch and Magi Saints before, as well as Demons of various sorts.
“I think he’s in the final preparation stage for forming his ninth mana core.”
“That has to be it, right?”
“He’s about to become the next Magi King of the Noxus Family.”
“Well, they made him Patriarch in advance, so he must have some potential.”
Wolfe laughed. “You’re all right to some extent. All that’s left for me is to form the final mana core.
I have a detailed method from the ancestral house, though I’m not certain this method has been used by Magi before.
I’m ready to do it anytime, but it was more important to deal with this issue before I finished.”
Risa snapped her fingers, getting everyone’s attention.
“That’s right. That was our original reason for coming with him today, wasn’t it? So that we were present to keep things from going wrong when he made the advancement.”
The revived witches looked around at the destruction.
“I don’t know how to tell you this, but all the protective spells that used to exist here for Saint Rank advancements are gone. Not even the buildings they were laid upon still stand. I don’t think that it will matter where you do the advancement now.” Silvana, the first to be revived, reminded them.
Risa patted her on the head. “Don’t worry, little Princess. This is still a good spot. The mana of the world still has a favourable flow here.”
“Should we at least set the witch side of the defences again? So that the advancement doesn’t cause a mana tide? Where is the closest city?” Silvana asked.
Wolfe extended his mana sense to see where the nearest group of living things was.
“Four hundred kilometres nearly straight North there is a human city of about two hundred thousand.” Wolfe informed them.
“What about the mountain nation? There should be nearly two hundred million people within a hundred kilometres of here.” Someone asked quietly.
Wolfe just shook his head.
“Oh.”
There wasn’t much more that could be said about that. Nobody they knew from before the war was still alive now, and even the nation they grew up in was gone. Not just the nation, but the actual cities and even the mountains that they were built on might not be there anymore.
