Epic of Ice Dragon: Reborn As An Ice Dragon With A System

It took some time, but we found her.

Amethyst!

And it just happened that she was about to freaking die.

What is this luck of mine?!

Always arriving barely at the moment someone I need is going to freaking die.

“Dad!”

Benladra cried to me, but I had already seen that.

“Yeah, I can see, don’t worry.”

We arrived barely in time, Fuyu floating above the dark skies.

It was already night too; we underestimated the distance we had to travel to get here for sure.

Amethyst was down there, barely alive, encompassed by endless miasma and black sand.

RUMBLE!

There was a massive monstrosity pushing her down, and I could also feel another presence down there, constantly trying to protect her.

It was shining the brightest, probably attempting to save her somehow, their energy was about to explode, were they trying to sacrifice themselves?

That’s no longer necessary!

“Let’s go! Hurry!”

We jumped down without hesitation, as I quickly transformed Celestia into Muramasa without hesitation, attacking the hordes of monsters and the creature.

And I started with a bang.

“{Limitless Path: Heavenly Ascension}!”

FLAAASH!

There was a nasty formation around the girl, so I destroyed it with a single slash of my sword, which then multiplied into dozens of blinding slashes of light.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

The entire formation shattered into pieces, and then the beast fell not long after, as I unleashed a barrage of attacks which it could not even retaliate against.

“GRYYYAAEERRGH!”

The beast roared, its giant claws trying to tear me to shreds in the last second, but I didn’t stop moving, spinning around and transforming my techniques into the illusion of a blossoming lotus.

“You’re already dead.”

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

A storm of slashes engulfed it completely, each slash exploding into pure light and spreading rainbow frost that also broke down into tiny pieces.

And then, through the sheer accumulation of damage and energy…

BOOOMMM!!!

The entire thing exploded.

Its pieces fell to the ground one by one, slowly turning into ashes.

I quickly targeted them, devouring them through the power of Muramasa, which contained Gluttony and Orochi as parts of its ingredients.

The taste was quite peculiar, and above all… there it was.

That strange Curse that had once affected Emerald’s wings, it was there.

The bastard isn’t even here personally, but he most likely came after Amethyst.

Umbral, the Dark Dragon that had become a Demon King in these lands…

I could feel his presence; a connection was momentarily made.

Using my power as the Dragon King over the Draconic Records, and the Curse belonging to him which I just devoured.

I was able to see him, and he saw me as well.

Two giant crimson eyes glared at me sharply, his eyes widening for a second.

“YOU…?!”

“Umbral, it has been decided by the Dragon Mothers that you will be punished for your sinful acts, you have brought shame to the Dragon Family, and we won’t forgive you. As the Dragon King, I shall take responsibility and slay you personally. Prepare yourself for my arrival.”

“HAHAHAHAHA! YOU THINK I’M AFRAID OF YOU?! COME! I’LL GLADLY RECEIVE YOU, DRAGON KING DRAKE! WE’LL SEE WHO WILL BE SLAYING WHO!”

As I heard his wicked laughter, the connection that was momentarily created was broken, as I sighed, looking down at the floor where Amethyst was.

There was a ghostly, divine entity floating by her side, constantly trying to keep her alive… it seemed to be made of golden sands.

And it possessed immense Divine Power.

She was most likely Jord, or a fragment of her!

The explosion caused the rest of the Undead to explode into ashes as well, as the shiny jewel dragon down there, most likely Amethyst, slowly started falling asleep due to her exhaustion reaching her limits.

It seemed she had done her best to survive, and I can’t help but want to congratulate her for that, but she would likely not even hear me.

“I’ve finally found you, Amethyst. It has been a while, right? Don’t worry, everything is okay now. Just sleep and rest for now, we’ll take care of the rest.”

She fell asleep at that point, as I used my Healing Magic to cure her as much as possible, but some of her wounds required more specialized healing.

At the same time, I saw her, Jord, looking at Amethyst with relief, and at me.

“W-Who are you? You came out of nowhere with your allies, and saved us…! We… we are grateful…” she muttered, looking rather awkward.

She resembled the figure of a beautiful, tall woman made of sand, with glowing yellow eyes, she seemed rather timid as well, she had a hard time talking with strangers.

“I’m Drake, the Dragon King. I’ve been looking for Amethyst everywhere,” I said. “Good thing I decided to hurry up and prioritize finding her above all else, or I wouldn’t had made it in time.”

“T-The Dragon King?! Wait… Drake? I remember you! You were that young and promising Ice Dragon that fought Amethyst in the Earth Dragon Tournament?” she asked. “I remember you weren’t alone, you fought with a few other people, right?”

“Yeah,” I nodded. “I am the Dragon King by the way, crowned that way and chosen by the Primordial Dragon and Mother of All Dragons, Tiamat.”

“T-That so?! Oh my… so much has happened out there, while we’ve been mostly doing the same ever since then…” Jord sighed. “Amethyst… she has gone through a lot of things. I’m really grateful that you’ve come here to help her! I don’t know what I would’ve done if she died…”

“I noticed you were going to sacrifice yourself… blowing yourself up would have probably made enough power to destroy the formation, but even then, she was already about to fall unconscious, I doubt she would have survived,” I said. “Well, that doesn’t matter now… You’re Jord, right? I know your sister Aegir and your brother Logi; both have been recently revived.”

“W-What? What are you even talking about? That’s…!” Jord’s eyes widened, as she saw Aegir flying towards her, realizing that what I said weren’t lies.

“Sister Jord! It’s really you!”

“Aegir?! Aegir!”

Jord and Aegir quickly hugged, sands and water mixing a little, creating some mud-like divine essence, which seemed to show just how much they loved one another.
