Dragon Genesis: I Can Create Dragons

Chapter 306: A choice between Nerissa and him.

Chapter 306: A choice between Nerissa and him.

“Alaric, stop listening to this guy.

Other than a random story, he doesn’t have anything.

Let’s end this.”

The man announced. He then glared at Kael and,

“Why are we even listening to his bullshit?

He has no way to prove his words, and since when were the words of a mass murderer and serial rapist valued?

Alaric, Nerissa is burning her Life Force to keep this monster still. The longer we keep listening to him, the worse her condition will be.

Sacrificing one of the Five Heroes of Humanity for a Demon is foolish.

He is not worthy!”

“A-Alaric, I am fine, don’t worry abou—”

Kael then heard that familiar voice. As the Future Kael turned towards her, Kael’s rage shot up.

‘That bitch…’

He screamed inwardly as he glared at her. Her face, which had now aged considerably, was exactly the same as he remembered it.

She was the one who killed him in his first vision!

“Khwaarrkkk!!”

Suddenly, Nerissa coughed out blood.

Her act enraged Kael even further. What he hated even more was the fact that the woman had everyone around her fooled. Even the Future Kael wasn’t an exception; Kael could sense his worry for this bitch!

“NERISSA!”

One of the Heroes called out as she rushed towards Nerissa. The bitch’s body continued to tremble, gaining more and more sympathy from her comrades.

Then suddenly,

“ALARIC! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT!?”

The man who had constantly been against Kael from the start shouted at the top of his lungs. He grabbed Alaric’s shoulders in rage and,

“Do you want her to die!? What is there to even think about!? It is the choice between Nerissa and that bastard! What’s stopping you!?”

“I…”

Alaric stuttered.

The decision was too important for him to let his emotions get the best of him, but then Kael’s eyes widened in horror as he saw another hunter rushing towards the Gate.

“CAIUS! NO!! STOPP!!!”

He screamed, trying to stop him but—

It was already too late.

Slash

Caius had already swung his sword. The energy from his sword rushed towards the Gate’s Core and…

BOOOOOOOOOM

The Gate was destroyed.

Everyone stared at Caius with shocked looks on their faces, and the hunter just shrugged,

“What? Didn’t you say it was a choice between Nerissa and him?”

Caius then glanced at Alaric and,

“Unlike him, I do not need time to think it over.”

“CAIUSSSSS!!!!”

Kael shouted, his voice turning almost demonic, sending shivers down the hunters’ spines. However, no matter how much he tried, he just couldn’t move.

“RRROOOOAAAAAARRRRR!!!”

The Dragons, who could sense their father’s rage, roared in anger as well. However, their conditions weren’t any better either. The hunters came out of their reverie and attacked them.

The battle began again. The Dragons, with their Father bound, were at a clear disadvantage. Almost all of them lost their lives.

“STOP THIS—RRROOOOAAAARRRRRRR!!!”

Future Kael’s roar turned demonic, his complete anger was unleashed, and together with anger, Kael sensed despair.

Nerathis…

His World…

His promise…

Everything was over…

The Future Kael was in despair as he felt his connection with Nerathis fading aw—huh?

Suddenly, the Future Kael frowned.

The connection…

It was still there!

A ray of hope lit up in his eyes as he calmed down.

Did that mean that the world that was destroyed was not his? Did he make a mistake? Was this not the Final Portal? Was his world still fine? Did he still have a chance to somehow save his world?

“Can you still sense your connection to your world?”

Suddenly, the Future Kael heard a voice.

“Huh…?”

He frowned.

“How di—”

Before he could question,

“Did it get your hopes up?”

Nerissa smiled.

“N-Nerissa…?”

“Yours truly~”

The Hero chuckled. It was as if her pitiful appearance before was all an act.

And just then—

Kael woke up.

He stared at the ceiling above him as the sound of his own breath echoed within his head.

The Vision…

It was over.

And it had revealed too many things for Kael to keep track of. Kael also felt that this Vision in particular was longer than others he had seen before.

“So it happened, huh?”

Suddenly, Kael heard a voice.

It was Lavinia.

The Princess hadn’t slept because Kael told her there might be a chance he would see a Vision today. Yes, she had stayed awake in case Kael needed something.

It wasn’t just her—Kael’s children were the same.

“Father, you look pale.”

Igni muttered in worry.

“Papa…”

Nyrri called out. The not-so-little thing was quite worried too.

“I am fine.”

Kael nodded lightly as he gently rubbed Nyrri’s head.

“That didn’t seem to be the case when you just woke up. Both your heartbeat and breathing were erratic.”

Lavinia muttered, and the spirits around her nodded continuously, agreeing with her.

“…”

Kael stayed silent for a moment. Noticing his reaction—

“What did you see?”

Lavinia questioned.

After a momentary silence, as if considering what he should say, Kael turned towards Vitaria, who seemed to be taken aback.

Kael nodded at her, and with another look that asked ‘are you sure?’ and Kael’s second nod, the Fox nodded back and climbed on top of him.

The rest of the bonds prepared themselves and stared at the Fox. Sensing the change around her, Lavinia frowned.

“What is happening?”

She questioned.

“Hehe~ You just wait, I will show you something interesting.”

The Fox laughed.

“Something interesting?”

Lavinia questioned with a wary look on her face.

She had stayed with this group for more than a month now. She knew what Vitaria’s ‘interesting’ meant, and she had no intention of experiencing it.

“Oh c’mon, trust me a little, will you?”

The Fox complained, but the Princess just stared at her with the same look on her face.

“…tsk.

I knew this world was unfair to the good.

Whatever.”

The Fox snorted as she then turned towards her Father, who had closed his eyes again.

All this while, the little Fox wasn’t just wasting time in Everveil. Even though she wasn’t training seriously and spent most of her time wandering around enjoying the world, she still picked a few things up from the people around her and had strengthened her control over her powers.

The Fox had learned how to project a being’s strongest memories from his mind to reality, and with this power, the Father and Daughter had planned to replay the dream Kael just saw.

And this time, everyone was going to watch it together.
