Chapter 299: The Elemental Magic.

After naming her new Family Members and playing with them for a little while, Lavinia sat on her knees with her hands resting on her lap, all seven of her summoned Spirits sat beside her in a line, four on one side, three on the other.

Even the loud ones like Pyra, Aqua, and Sparkle were no exception, all sitting on their knees, staring at the Giant Dragon standing in front of them.

Yes, playtime was now over,

It was time for Lavinia to learn Elemental Magic, and the little Spirits were going to help her.

“Lavinia,”

Igni began in a calm, firm voice.

“What you are about to learn is not a spell or a trick,

It is an entirely new System of Magic, something much more advanced than the Human Magic System you are familiar with.”

Lavinia nodded, silently waiting.

“Now admittedly, what I am about to tell you comes to me by instinct, it is a knowledge I do not know the source of, but I do believe it is correct.

But in any case, I am not omniscient, there is a chance that I may be incorrect, if that is indeed true,

I want you all to correct me, is that clear?”

The Dragon questioned as he glanced at the Seven Spirits.

“Krriii!”

Pyra raised her hand and nodded cheerfully.

Sparkle, who saw that, raised her hand as well and,

“Grriiiii!!”

She exclaimed as well, making sure her voice was louder than Pyra. Pyra, who understood what she was doing, narrowed her eyes, the flames around her strengthened, in answer, the lightning around Sparkle became more violent,

But then,

“Silence.”

With Igni’s single command, both Spirits turned silent and sat with their backs straight. The Dragon then glanced at Lavinia and,

“Human Magic teaches you to shape mana from within. You draw Mana from your core, contain it in circles, shape it with runes, and then force it into form.”

Lavinia nodded in agreement.

“It is an efficient way, yes, especially considering the limitations humans have.”

The Dragon praised.

“But in the end, the Human Magic System does have its limitations.”

Igni paused for a moment, his words getting nods from both Kael and Lavinia.

“Forming Circles takes time, even if one diminishes that time through efforts and talent, Magic Circles and Spells in themselves are quite restrictive, it doesn’t give the Mage the freedom that every Mage should be after.

Not just that, your Mana restricts you as well, the amount of Mana a normal Human can store in their Mana Pool is quite limited.”

Again, Lavinia nodded, this time a little slower.

“But Elemental Magic is different.”

Igni began.

“With Elemental Magic, you no longer have to use your own mana anymore. You use theirs.”

The Dragon spoke as he glanced at the Spirits sitting beside Lavinia.

“I use… their Mana?”

Lavinia raised her eyebrow in surprise.

“Indeed, the Elemental Magic allows you to tap into the Spirit’s Mana, a pure, alive, and endless Mana.”

“Wait wait wait, did you just say Endless…?”

Kael, who had been silent all this while, suddenly questioned in surprise.

“Yes.”

Igni nodded. He then glanced at the little Spirits sitting beside Lavinia and,

“These things may look little, but they are physical manifestations of Elementals itself, they are the very Source of Mana, so of course they have infinite Magic Powers.”

At those words, Kael and Lavinia turned towards those little things, and the Spirits laughed in pride.

Kael, unable to contain his curiosity, used [Eye of the Ancient] but—

Nothing happened.

“Huh?”

He frowned.

“It may not work, Father.”

Igni answered, knowing what his father was trying to do.

“Why?”

Kael questioned.

“They do not exist in our reality, the only reason we can see them is because we have an affinity, or a link with them that allows us to see beyond our reality. So unless your Eye has the ability to see beyond reality, it will not work.”

The Dragon explained.

“They do not exist in our reality huh…”

Kael repeated those words, his eyes staring at the four almost otherworldly entities in front of him.

“Does this mean… if I learn Elemental Magic, I will have unlimited Mana?”

Lavinia questioned, but once again, Igni shook his head.

“You will have access to unlimited Mana, as to how much of that Mana you will be able to use,

That depends on you.”

“On me?”

Lavinia tilted her head.

“The Elemental Magic System is all about learning how to use that unlimited Mana.

You do not need Magic Circles, what you do need, however, is your Will.”

The Dragon spoke as he pointed at his own heart.

“Not strength. Not talent.

Will.

That is your conduit.

That is your power.”

He declared in a solemn, powerful tone.

“But… what is Will, really?”

Lavinia questioned with a frown.

“It is the force behind your choice,”

Igni answered.

“It is the reason you stand. The belief that shapes your intent. The clarity of your purpose, even when the world tries to break it.

If your Will is weak, you wouldn’t be able to tap into even the tiniest amount of that endless Mana, but if your Will is strong,

You alone will change the battlefield. Your wildest, strongest of imaginations will come true, you would no longer be a Mage, you will be a creator,

A Creator whose very thoughts will be turned into reality.”

“So I don’t cast spells… I just imagine?”

Lavinia leaned forward, still in disbelief.

And the Dragon—

“You imagine,”

He nodded.

“That is all you do.

You imagine, and if your Will is strong enough, you will be able to tap into the Powers of your Spirit to allow your imagination to be turned into a reality.

Be it a Fireball to destroy a single opponent, or a Fire tornado to burn down an army of enemies, you imagine, and your Will is all you need.

That is the truest form of Magic,

The Elemental Magic.”

The Dragon explained and Lavinia, who heard those words, just couldn’t believe them. Slowly, her head turned towards her little Spirits, and a thought couldn’t help but appear in her mind…

Just what sort of beings had she summoned?
