Chapter 3632: Change of Plans

Lafanxa and Getty were frozen in place, not believing what they had just seen. Lafanxa knew that what she was fighting against was definitely a monster, but she didn’t expect this monster to have ten heads, eleven tails, and to breathe fire! That was just too fast, too strong!

Roan then pointed his scythe in Lafanxa’s direction. "You seem to be the one who knows more about this chosen bullshit, and I’m very curious to learn more. That said, wait there while I get rid of this little shit over here first. Don’t worry, I’ll be fast, then I’ll take my time with your soul."

Roan’s eyes then glanced behind, and his body flashed away. As soon as that happened, space warped, and several petal-shaped blades converged at that point. They were obviously used to kill Roan but failed miserably.

"Oh!" On the other side of the arena, Rean looked at Getty while he talked to Rifindio on his side. "It had been a while since we saw someone using Spatial Powers in the Transition Realm."

Getty was even more shocked by that. With their cultivation suppressed to the Transition Realm, Roan shouldn’t have been able to detect his spatial manipulation just now. But then...

*Puft!*

Out of nowhere, a sword pierced through one of Getty’s giant petals, almost cutting it off. That wasn’t a normal sword, but an Elemental Intent Sword instead. Let’s not forget Roan can use any Elemental Intent Weapon he wants.

Roan landed not far away, nodding. "Not bad. I aimed at your core, but even in this flower form of yours, you still detected the shift in space and dodged in the last moment."

Getty understood why. "You can also use Spatial Power in the Transition Realm!"

*Tutututututu...*

Roan didn’t have time to answer that. Thousands of thorns converged and landed on Roan’s body. Roan tried to defend himself, but there were too many. Eventually, they managed to pierce his body, transforming Roan into a Swiss Cheese. Getty wasn’t the only one there. Lafanxa still hasn’t given up, and she attacked Roan, using her second Elemental Affinity and Laws to hide the thorns’ presence, Earth Element and Laws. That’s why Roan didn’t dodge... or, to be more specific, did he need to?

Getty and Lafanxa’s felt even worse. They had their Divine Sense on Roan, and they immediately noticed that what Lafanxa hit was not a real body.

*Kabrum!*

As soon as they noticed that, the sound of lightning echoed once more.

’Red Death, Third Movement Form, Crimson Lightning!’

’Red Death, Death Cross!’

"NO!" Lafanxa screamed, and she moved as fast as she could. Roan wasn’t targeting her. He was targeting Getty, and she couldn’t allow Getty to die. He was their Universe’s chosen. Even if she manages to survive after this, she will be killed by her Universe Owner if she lets Getty die.

*Bang!*

Yet, in that last moment, Roan’s Scythes failed to cut Getty into pieces. In front of him, a golden petal appeared, radiating a powerful energy that stopped Roan in his tracks. Then, the golden petal shone intensely, and a destructive power blasted outwards.

Roan’s Elemental Intent Scythes broke apart, and he was sent flying like a cannonball.

*Bang!*

He eventually hit an invisible wall, a spatial wall that separated this arena from the real plane. Blood came down from his mouth, and several of his bones broke. It was supposed to be even worse, though. Fortunately, Rean’s System Armor showed its prowess, blocking much of the power while almost all its defensive micro runes were destroyed. There was also Roan’s own reaction. The moment he saw the petal, he knew there was intense danger, and he jumped back, allowing the blast power to carry him instead of facing it.

Rifindio looked at that with his mouth wide open. "W-What was that?!"

Rean didn’t look worried at all. "A life-saving treasure. You also felt it, didn’t you?"

Rifindio nodded. "Were those... Celestial Laws?"

Roan used Rean’s Instant Recovery, and all his injuries began to heal, albeit slowly. Roan narrowed his eyes. The Celestial Laws in that petal had entered his body and were making it difficult to recover. "As expected of a Universe Owner, Celestial Realm Experts are on another level."

He ignored the pain and got up again. The Golden Petal was still floating in front of Getty, who looked as shocked as Rifindio. It was obvious that even Getty didn’t know he possessed that treasure. "This... Is this-"

Lafanxa sighed in relief. "Yes, it is senior Ruvic’s Petal." But then, that sense of relief disappeared. "This is not good. This is not good at all. Senior Runiv wasn’t supposed to help you directly. It is against the rules."

Back during the meeting of the Universe Owners and their master, their master mentioned that the chosen ones couldn’t have been helped directly. In fact, they were supposed to grow in a harsh environment, and any help couldn’t be anything big. At most, some training help or such, like what Triaglia did when she pretended to be Rafa and trained Rifindio. The chosen ones couldn’t know they were chosen themselves either.

This petal, however, was absolutely a very direct help. It shouldn’t have appeared, it shouldn’t have salved Getty’s life. Ruvic has just put himself in a very dangerous situation now.

Getty was annoyed seeing that, as he still had no idea what was happening. "Just what the hell is happening here?! Why would the Universe Owner protect me?! And these rules, what rules are that?!"

On the other side of the arena, Rifindio glanced at Rean. ’He truly seems to be just like me, completely oblivious about this chosen thing.’

’So?’ Rean asked back. ’He still intended to kill all of us in this arena. Are you saying now you want to spare that guy’s life or something? I’m not a fan of meaningless killing, but I’m not a saint. That is even more so for Roan.’

Rifindio nodded slightly. ’Save him? I have no intention of saving him to start with. What I’m saying is that perhaps he has something in his body that might be related to this chosen situation. After all, I can still feel his presence somehow.’

’Oh!’ Rean misunderstood Rifindio. Then, he passed those words to Roan. ’That’s what Rifindio said.’

Roan nodded. Even with those Celestial Laws there, they had no one controlling them. By circulating his own Dark Laws and Element, Roan eventually managed to get rid of those Wood and Earth Celestials Laws from his body and completely heal himself. ’That is interesting. Still, capturing him won’t be easy.’

Roan looked ahead, and the golden petal still shone in front of Getty. This place suppressed everything to the Transition Realm or to a power equivalent to that. That said, the Petal actually was A LOT weaker than it should have been.

’Need help?’ Rean asked seriously. The time for jokes was over now that a treasure from a Celestial Realm expert was involved. Those were Celestial Laws!

Roan pondered a bit and nodded. He only wanted to keep Lafanxa alive since she seemed to be the one who knew most of the information. Getty was supposed to have died during the last attack. Now, the plans obviously had to be changed, so Rean’s intervention was needed. ’Deal with the woman. I’ll focus on the chosen guy and that golden petal.’
