Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1096: How To Use A Sword

"Ha, ha, ha, ha!" Mechanical laughter had exploded in the room of silence, all of it coming from one person, Harvey.

He had been longing for this moment. He had prepared the stage on the global level of Alterian to attract the most attention. When he saw the general public on the ground and seeing their faces broadcasting this moment, he knew he wanted it to be a tale for everyone to know.

And just enough time had passed for news stations, among other broadcasters, picking up what was taking place, and now, the whole of Alterian had heard it. They had heard him say those words that he was the Dark Magus.

Those on the ground felt their feet shaking, their lips quivering as they heard the robed man mention those forbidden words, the words that hadn't been spoken of too much these days, the Dark Magus.

"All of these people learning Dark magic, the Dark Guild they spoke of, it's because of him, it's because of the Dark Magus."

"It can't be him; it has to just be someone using his name. It makes no sense; he can't be here right now."

"If it is him, though, Azbeth won't be enough. This is a man who annihilated entire guilds on his own, and now, he has his own guild filled with all of those that know Dark Magic as well. What is going on?"

Right now, Raze was using quite a large amount of magic. He had a robe, but not a special enchanted one since he used his Blazer most of the time when fighting. Not wanting to reveal what he really looked like to those in Alterian, to keep his identity a secret from those it really mattered from, he conjured a special type of robe using his Dark magic.

It spewed out of his body constantly over his robe, making it flicker and constantly move even though he was standing still, as if Dark flames were attached to his robe. Equally, Raze was using the same Dark magic to constantly shift in front of his face.

"The Dark Magus, do you think I'm a fool!" Azbeth shouted as he swung his sword, and lightning struck out, hitting the floor in front of Raze.

"The Grand Magus killed the Dark Magus; the world no longer has to fear that name! You think you can fool the entire world into fear? Now I understand what you are doing."

"Shut up!" Harvey shouted. "The world is corrupt, and the only way to heal it is to start anew. Do you think there wasn't a reason why we, the Dark Guild, chose you?"

"The Orian Guild didn't rise to its position justly. When guilds of lower status discovered new portal locations, you forced them to hand them over. If they didn't comply, in some instances, Mages would end up going missing during portal outings."

"When these reports would come to light, you would bribe officials, and dealing with the Cerebus guild. There's a reason why you're so connected to the Grand Magus's guilds, and the corruption only starts here, going all the way to the top of the Grand Magus itself."

"The whole world follows a fake truth, and we, the Dark Guild, along with the Dark Magus, will take it down and reveal a new one."

"I've heard enough," Azbeth claimed. "I will take down this fake in front of everyone, so nobody has to live in fear!"

Azbeth charged forward and swung it down to strike right at Raze. It was fast, and lightning came hurling down along with the sword strike. When it went to hit the robed man, a sound of metal clashing on metal rang through the room.

Now being held in Raze's hand was a sword itself, thin and had a slight blue tinge to it.

"You think you can use a sword on a magic swordsman?" Azbeth claimed.

He moved from side to side, moving to strike at Raze. The sword was hitting nothing but the air as it swung down, and the darkness that was covering Raze's body was deflecting the electrical sparks. ṘαƝǑ฿Εš

'In this form, I can't use Qi... but everything that I have been through, and this body is not the same as it was before, when I was the old Dark Magus. This body is strong; it's fast as well. I've fought countless fights with the sword.'

'I've swung and met master swordsmen throughout the entirety of Pagna!'

As the sword strikes came close to Raze's face, he started to hit and deflect the strikes. With each deflection and knocking it to the side, Raze would activate his own Lightning magic. The two would clash, and Azbeth could feel his sword flinging to the side completely.

'What is going on... it feels like he's using less power than me, his magic is no stronger than mine, so why is he able to parry all of my strikes?' Azbeth thought.

Azbeth swung at the hooded man's face; the blow missed, and the sword instead was seen thrusting right at his face, grazing his cheek and causing blood to pour.

"What is this!" Azbeth asked as he quickly moved back, with his wind creating distance between the two. "What type of magic are you using?"

"Magic?" Raze replied back, holding onto his sword. "What I'm using is not magic. It's just that I know how to properly use a sword. If you want to see magic, then let me show you

magic."

A thought started to form in Raze's head. On Alterian, there were mages who were able to fight as Pagna warriors. They were able to supplement their mana for their Qi. They were just unable to have both.

Which meant they had to choose to either use magic or Qi; they couldn't use both at the same time. So while Raze was in this state in Alterian, what about him, could he not do the opposite? Could he just supplement his mana for Qi instead?

Raze shifted his feet and burst forward, moving at an incredible speed, and swung his sword. As Azbeth struck back, the sword was broken in half, and he felt a heavy strike right at his

neck.

Right there and then, Azbeth fell to the ground. "That is how you use a sword," Raze

exclaimed.
