"So, you are the one who managed to avoid detection of the Shadow Lotus Sect. Impressive! But! Your journey ends here!"

Standing in front of the mountain range blocking his way forward, a rather arrogant sound man stepped forward as he said this with a tone that sounded less like an assassin and more like some kind of noble son filled with pride over having outsmarted an opponent.

Is this perhaps some kind of distraction?

Knowing that the group in front of him were assassins who had somehow managed to track him down even without the help of that Shadow Lotus Sect that seemed to be behind the constant attacks he had suffered before spending a week in the underground world, Chu Yang didn't dare let his guard down. Believing that this arrogant tone and the dumb words were merely a distraction to get him to let his guard down.

"No need for all this, let's just kill him and get this over with, I already wasted over a month getting here…"

Not able to keep up the little play that the one who had gone first was doing, a second assassin stepped forward and went directly for the attack, causing the remaining three to react and charge forward as well.

Looks like they are finally taking this more seriously instead of trying to fool me with that dumb play…

Narrowing both his eyes as he thought this to himself, Chu Yang tightly griped his spear with one hand before stabbing forward towards the first approaching assassin, a bulky man twice his size-

Ptsh!

And without any issue, his spear managed to cleanly pierce through the body of the large man before he quickly pulled it back out while allowing the terrifying powers contained in his attack to wreak havoc inside the large man's body.

Using the end the spear to block a small dagger just about to reach him before using the middle section of the spear to block another attack-

Bang!

And with his free hand, he grabbed the head of the last of the assassin and smashed his head into the ground before stomping on top of it with all his might, causing his head to pop like a watermelon being hit with a bat while also destroying his soul before it could escape. Killing one of the four assassins in the first exchange.

"Wha-"

"C-Cheong!"

"…"

Clearly taken aback by the sudden and quick death of one of their companions, Chu Yang took full advantage of this lack of attention to push back the two assassins he had blocked with his spear and once again stab towards the already struggling large man-

Ptsh-!

Piercing his head and killing him on the spot before he could react.

Two down, these guys aren't as strong as I expected them to be…

Thinking this to himself as he had now finished off half of his opponents with relative ease, Chu Yang concentrated the power of his domain on his spear before executing the second move of his Soul Spear Divine Mantra, Mountain Piercer, a technique he had refined through countless battles ever since he had first learnt the move back when he had first become a disciple of his master and had been taught the Soul Spear Divine Mantra. ʀÅƝօꞖĚṡ

Rumble-!

"Wai-"

BANG!

Not a second later, the third assassin was easily killed off. Leaving behind the one who had tried to fool him by pretending to be some kind of arrogant noble master.

Although… Looking at the last remaining assassin that seemed to have wet himself, something he thought unimaginable for someone in the Domain Lord Realm, Chu Yang had feeling that he might not have been pretending earlier…

Oh well…

Ptsh-!

He is dead now. Joining the rest of his team in their futile assassination attempt.

Even then, Chu Yang didn't dare relax his guard, as he understood that there was a high likelihood that his current location might have been leaked.

So, with nothing more to gain from waiting around, Chu Yang rushed into the mountain range separating the Core Region of the Continent from the fallen Sky Empire.

Even if it might be dangerous for him to go through the mountain range without a proper map to follow like he had done the first time he made his way through the mountain range, Chu Yang didn't feel as afraid of encountering Soul Ascension Realm demon beasts like he had been in the past.

With his current strength at the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm, he felt some degree of confidence when it came to facing a First Tribulation Realm demon beast or cultivator.

Not to mention, Soul Ascension Realm demon beasts were still rare in the mountain range and difficult to encounter under normal circumstances.

In most cases, the demon beasts encounter while going through the mountain range would be in the Domain Lord Realm, something he was more than confident in dealing with at his current cultivation realm.

The only real danger was the core part of the mountain range that he would have to pass through at some point.

Although Soul Ascension Realm demon beasts were rare and hard to come by under normal circumstances, the core part of the mountain range was unique in the way that these rare and hard to come by demon beasts seemed too impossible to miss passing through the core of the mountain range unless one followed a specific path.

This was something he had learnt not before or during his journey through the mountain range nor inside the Deep Pit City, but instead in a small town located not too far away from the Deep Pit City that he had happened to pass through after his escape from Deep Pit City.

As for trying to find the current safe path or asking about it in Deep Pit City or surrounding cities for that matter… That was not something he intended on doing with assassins still after him. Especially so now that he knew they had managed to somehow locate him.
