Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough
Chapter 1478: Danger Lurking All AroundAs Chu Yang steeled himself for the danger that came with moving deeper inside the desert and began moving past the invisible line that none had dared to bypass out of fear of attracting the attention of the sandworm roaming not too far away, it didn't take long before he drew the attention of the surrounding Domain Lord Realm cultivators who had been searching through the sand like he had done a short time ago.
"Hey… is that guy planning on moving deeper inside the desert?"
"What a fool, he should know how dangerous it is with that sandworm roaming visible from where we are standing! He is probably just unsatisfied with his gains so far and is overtaken by greed knowing that he can gather more of that special sand by moving deeper inside the desert."
"Is that really the case? From what I can sense, he should be around the Eighth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm. Not like those foolish ones wandering into the deeper parts of the desert to never appear again."
"It doesn't matter if he is stronger, it doesn't matter in front of a demon beast in the Soul Ascension Realm!"
"I just hope he won't end up drawing that sandworm over here and cause trouble for the rest of us…"
However, instead of just observing from a distance, the Domain Lord Realm cultivators all started chatting amongst each other, with most of them complaining over the fact that he might end up drawing the sandworm towards them by moving deeper into the desert.
In the end, to make sure that they wouldn't end up getting targeted by this sandworm in case Chu Yang drew its attention and caused it to move closer to where they were, the Domain Lord Realm cultivators all began simultaneously moving further away. None of them planning to take any extra risks by continuing to stay at the edge of what they had deemed the safe zone to search for the special sand.
Only when they saw Chu Yang slowly sneak past the sandworm that didn't pay the slightest bit of attention to him, did the Domain Lord Realm cultivators slowly begin making their way back to where they had been searching for the special sand beforehand. Soon enough forgetting about Chu Yang who had already disappeared deeper inside the desert.
This was not the first time someone had ventured past the sandworm and wouldn't be the last before the secret realm closed, but all of the ones before Chu Yang had one thing in common. None of them had returned after moving past the sandworm. They had no idea what had happened to these cultivators nor did any of them think about following in their footsteps, as it was clear just how dangerous it was to move deeper into the desert from the sandworm that was blocking their path.
Trying to move around the sandworm in front of them wasn't much of an option either, as doing so would only end up with them wandering into another dangerous location they were unfamiliar with or running into a second sandworm in the Soul Ascension Realm.
…
"That was… Easier than I expected…"
Having successfully made his way past the sandworm that had seemingly been blocking the path in front of him a few minutes earlier, Chu Yang could not help whispering this to himself as he looked back in the direction of the sandworm that had now almost completely disappeared beyond a few sand dunes.
Although he had heard about how it was easy to make it past the sandworm from overhearing what other Domain Lords were talking about every now and then, he had never expected it to be that easy and was still feeling a bit doubtful about how nobody had returned after making it past the sandworm after moving deeper inside the desert.
After all, even if he didn't move any deeper from where he was at the moment, he had already far surpassed his gains in terms of special sand from just casually picking up what he gathered along the way. Having reached a little over 20 grains of sand at this point in time.
With that in mind, those who had come before him could have just stayed here for a few days and possibly gathered hundreds or possibly even thousands of grains of the special sand before leaving. ṚἈɴô𝐛ƐŞ
However, none of them had done this seemingly safe and easy thing that would not have them risk moving any deeper into the desert.
Even though some might be overcome with greed and still continue deeper inside the desert at this point in time, everyone inside the secret realm had reached the Domain Lord Realm and had lived for a long time. Especially those wandering cultivators who had lived at the edge of a knife their entire life as they struggled for resources.
For not a single one to have returned, it meant that there was more to it than met the eye and it might not be as safe as he thought to return to the perceived safe zone.
"Guess I will have to try and retrace my steps and see if I can return or not before moving any deeper…" Narrowing both his eyes slightly as he muttered this to himself, Chu Yang began to slowly retrace his steps back in the direction of the sandworm that was only barely visible in the distance at this point in time. Intent on finding out what it was that kept those who had come before him from making their way back out of the desert after they moved past the sandworm.
Rumble~!
However, as he began retracing his steps, one the sand dunes not too far away from him suddenly began moving as he got closer. Soon enough, it revealed a massive sandworm hidden beneath the sand that looked like it was about to wake up from the slightest disturbance.
Suddenly, Chu Yang understood why none of the cultivators who had gone before him had returned, the sand dunes all around him seemed to hide sandworms inside them!
Not just that, but it seemed like walking over them from the direction he had come didn't cause any reaction from them, while trying to leave the desert seemed to cause them to show signs of waking up. Leaving him no choice but to continue moving deeper inside the desert unless he wanted to risk waking up the sandworms sleeping beneath the sand dunes…
