The terrifying swarm of mosquitoes summoned by Lin Jing had subdued a top-ranked Genius Rankings cultivator, leaving the Dragon Palace team utterly stunned. Even Wang Xiao, who had been on the verge of challenging Lin Jing, swallowed his words and stared at the mosquito swarm in disbelief.

“That’s... one of the Ten Terrors of the Cloud Sea, the Cloud Sea Mosquito Beast!!!”

“How could there be so many of them here?!” Xu Zhizhi exclaimed in shock.

“Isn’t that the Myriad Beast Circle I gave him?!” Gao Sheng recognized the artifact Lin Jing had used to unleash the swarm.

Lin Jing chuckled, “I happened to tame these fierce beasts along the way, thanks to Brother Gao’s artifact. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so easy. Now, this mosquito swarm will join us in soaking in the blood pool!”

He glanced at the Demon Emperor’s Blood Pool—it would not go to waste. For him, the Pine Leaf Mouse, and the Dragon Carp, the pool was of limited use. The bloodline of the Dragon Carp was already highly pure, and the blood here had been diluted extensively to accommodate Foundation Establishment cultivators. As Lin Jing sat cross-legged above the blood pool, Dragon Palace members soaked contentedly below. Fang Shilin of the Everlasting Spring Valley arrived, looking bewildered. Seeing the unconscious Chu Ren tossed aside, he accepted Lin Jing’s polite invitation to the pool.

However, this privilege was exclusive to Dragon Palace members. Any outsiders attempting to approach were immediately warned off. Although some veteran students were initially furious, the sight of the defeated Chu Ren and the eerie mosquito swarm quelled their anger.

“Brother Wang, why not join us? You’ve been watching me for quite some time now. Even if you’re not part of Dragon Palace, you’re one of us in my heart! Xu Zhizhi told me about your heroic support for Dragon Palace earlier,” Lin Jing said to Wang Xiao.

Wang Xiao remained silent. “I have the Heavenly God Physique, and my companion beast has a king-tier bloodline. This resource isn’t particularly beneficial for us.”

Though he stayed to observe, Wang Xiao had no intention of challenging Lin Jing. He wanted to further assess Lin Jing’s abilities. The mosquito swarm was simply too formidable.

 

As Wang Xiao watched, another formidable figure arrived—a man with three natural pupils and a commanding presence, accompanied by a group of followers.

“The creator of the Eye Alliance, Liu Yu.”

Unlike Chu Ren, who relied largely on his family background, Liu Yu was a true genius. Wang Xiao observed him carefully.

“Cloud Sea Mosquito Beasts…” Liu Yu’s gaze lingered on the subdued Chu Ren, the blood pool, the Dragon Palace members, and Lin Jing.

Lin Jing, calmly toying with the Myriad Beast Circle, met Liu Yu’s gaze with interest. “Finally, a big fish has arrived,” he thought. He wondered whether the combination of the Pine Leaf Mouse and the mosquito swarm could defeat Liu Yu.

“Brother Liu, long time no see. Is the Eye Alliance interested in this Dragon Blood Medicinal Pool?” Lin Jing asked. “However, since Dragon Palace defeated the demon here, you’ll need to pass me first if you want a share.”

Liu Yu smiled faintly. “I was wondering what kind of treasure created such a commotion. Turns out it’s just a pool of blood.”

Sensing no strong desire to fight, Liu Yu turned to leave but paused to remark, “I underestimated you. Taming these mosquitoes is impressive. But guarding this pool seems shortsighted. Lin Jing remained unmoved. Having gained the mosquito swarm and the blood pool, he was already satisfied. Besides, leaving to pursue another opportunity could lead to the mosquito swarm losing control. Its ferocity was still largely unrefined, and only Lin Jing’s presence kept it in check.

He summoned the Pine Leaf Mouse.

“Pine Leaf Mouse, go and investigate. If there’s treasure, bring it back. With Brother Liu’s generous invitation, we shouldn’t decline.”
