Ethan and Vincent reined in their family members, to prevent any fights from breaking out.
In the end, Vincent had no choice but to come forward. After all, this entire affair was his idea.
“Alright, I’m sorry,” Vincent apologized. “But aren’t my daughters very beautiful? They are my pride.”
“They are indeed very beautiful.” Ethan nodded in agreement.
Vincent noticed Valeria’s slightly disappointed look on her face and sighed in his heart.
His daughters had been studying in one of the magic academies in Midgard and rarely had time to visit home.
But whenever they did, Zafira always traumatized Joanne due to her straightforward and unrelenting personality.
Because of this, Vincent decided to not let them come back home and simply let them stay in the academy during their vacation.
That way, his pitiful niece wouldn’t have to go crying back to her father, Lleu, who would give Vincent a good nagging and beating back in the Lands of Saraqael.
“Also, you should use this time to apologize to Joanne, Zafira,” Vincent patted his daughter’s head. “See? Even now, your cousin is still terrified of you.”
“Fine.” Zafira nodded before looking in Joanne’s direction. “Joanne, I’m sorry about the times I bullied you. Let’s get along well from now on, okay? Look. I even brought you a doll!”
The young lady then took out a scary-looking doll from her storage ring and presented it to Joanne.
However, instead of being afraid, Joanne actually liked the doll that her cousin had brought her and even asked where she got it.
Although she was still feeling fearful, Joanne did her best to accept her cousin’s apology because she looked very sincere.
Also, since Ethan and Princess Ramona were there, she was certain that she wouldn’t be bullied by anyone anymore.
Fortunately, Zafira really wanted to make up for the trauma that she caused the younger girl and even gave her more souvenirs that she had brought back from Heimdall Academy, where Zafira and Valeria studied magic.
Two hours later, Ethan’s two cousins went to visit their nephews, which melted the hearts of the two young ladies.
“Um, cousin, I know you said no earlier, but can you think about it more?” Zafira, who was holding Zach in her hands, asked. “I want a baby as cute as Zach!”
“No.” Ethan shook his head firmly. “Go find someone else, cousin.”
Zafira sighed before swaying her body side to side, singing Zach a lullaby.
The baby boy slowly closed his eyes and snuggled close to his Aunt. Half a minute later, Zach was sleeping peacefully, making the young lady smile faintly.
“He’s a really good boy,” Zafira said to Lily.
“He is.” Lily nodded.
Valeria, who was holding Zayne in her hands, imitated her sister and got the same results.
Soon, the two babies were brought to their cradle, where they slept side by side.
The two ladies stayed in Atlantis for two more weeks and did their best to get along with their future in-laws, who would be marrying their cousin in a year or two.
When it was finally time to bid farewell, the two ladies regretted that they couldn’t stay longer because they had already become good friends with Ethan’s lovers.
Also, it was very hard to talk to people within their same age group because most students in Heimdall Academy were intimidated by their father, Vincent, who usually visited them twice a month.
“Let’s meet each other again soon,” Zafira said.
“Yes,” Chloe, who surprisingly got along well with Zafira, said. “Take care and make sure to write whenever you have the time.”
“I will!” Zafira nodded.
Valeria, on the other hand, hugged Joanne and patted her head. “We’ll visit you in Brynhildr Academy soon. If anyone is bullying you, don’t hesitate to tell me their names, okay?”
“No one will dare to bully me, cousin,” Joanne replied. “After all, they will have to deal with my brother first.”
Valeria chuckled and nodded in agreement. “Indeed. Who would dare to bully you when your brother is so valiant?”
Valeria then crouched down to whisper something in Joanne’s ear, making the latter nod her head.
“All good things should belong to the family, right?”
“Yes!”
Ethan, who now had superior hearing abilities, pretended that he didn’t hear what Valeria had whispered to his sister, Joanne.
“Let’s meet again soon!” Zafira waved her hand before jumping out of the bubble of Atlantis.
As soon as her body touched the water, a mermaid tail replaced her legs, allowing her to travel faster in the sea.
Valeria had a similar transformation, surprising Joanne, who never thought that their cousins could do that.
“Actually, you can do it, too,” Ethan said as he rested his hand on his sister’s head. “Our Grandfather is the Tidebringer, so with a bit of practice, you can also transform your legs into a mermaid’s tail. You should ask Illumina on how to do it. I’m sure she will help you.”
“Okay.” Joanne nodded. “Brother, our cousins are good, aren’t they?”
“Yes,” Ethan replied. “Are you no longer afraid of Zafira?”
“I’m still a little afraid, but it’s better now,” Joanne commented.
“Good,” Ethan said before crouching down to whisper something in his sister’s ear. “Forget what Valeria told you. That’s not going to happen, okay?”
Joanne coughed lightly, feeling awkward that her conversation with her older cousin was heard by her brother.
But since the man himself said that she should forget about it, she decided to let bygones be bygones and once again returned to her best friend’s side, who always stood up for her.
“It’s good that you only have two cousins,” Illumina said in a teasing tone. “If you had more, it would have become troublesome.”
“I agree.” Ethan nodded.
Nicole watched this scene from a distance before returning to her room.
The young lady then looked at the full-body mirror and sighed softly.
“Are you sure that we shouldn’t tell Ethan about it?” Nicole asked.
The reflection of Nicole’s image in the mirror nodded in reply.
“This is my problem,” Baradiel replied. “I don’t want to involve ordinary people in it.”
“You sure are prideful, Baradiel,” Nicole commented. “Have you forgotten? Ethan is going to be your future Daddy. He’s not an ordinary person.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Baradiel insisted. “This is something that we must do on our own.”
“Fine.” Nicole shook her head helplessly before lying on the bed.
Several hours later, just as the clock was about to hit midnight, Nicole snuck out of the Royal Palace and teleported miles away to a place that Baradiel once called home.
