The last thing I expected was to be accosted by the HOA… Err… I mean the GMA.

Why the hell do you even need a GMA here? Who the heck created this? Was it them? Is this even legal? Hello?

I looked up at the buff woman in front of me and handed the pamphlet back to her, “We’re not interested.”

The woman scowled at me, “You aren’t in a position to reject, girl. Participation is mandatory. You will see that this is the best choice.”

“I don’t see how this will make it better. Don’t we already have the Guild? Why do we need another group to manage the Guild within the Guild?”

“Of course we do! It’s because the people here don’t even know proper manners so we have to teach them! Look here!”

She snatched the pamphlet from me to point at one of the rules there, prompting me to squint my eyes at it.

‘Everyone in the group is equal and members have to obey the governing members.’

Does anyone not even see the irony in that single statement alone?

Scratch that, I’m pretty sure the others do but do this group of women see it? Because I have a feeling they don’t.

I narrowed my eyes at her, “I’m going to assume that the ‘governing members’ are people that you approve of or are in your circle?”

“Naturally!” She answered without a beat of hesitation. “Without people to guide, things will just dissolve into anarchy and morals will crumble! That’s why we have this rule too!”

Her finger slid down to stop at a specific line.

‘No public sex.’

Ok… Honestly… If this was back in our original World, this rule would have actually been normal and I would have no problems with it…

But right now we’re not in our own World and this is something that everyone is used to doing… It’s not only part of their culture but even their religion too.

Yet these people really think nothing about trampling on them, huh?

I suppose the only ‘good’ thing is that they aren’t the only ones to try and force our old World’s culture and morals on the people of this World… Which just means that this level of obtuseness isn’t that rare amongst the Off-Worlders…

I looked back at her, “You… Do realise that this is something that is the norm here, right?”

She frowned, “Just because something is the norm doesn’t mean it’s good and should be kept around.”

“I would agree with you in some cases but that’s after you have understood the reasons and significance behind why such a thing is the norm in the first place. Do you even know why it is like this for this particular thing?”

“What? What do you even need to understand to know that such a thing is bad?! Are you someone with no morals?! This is exactly why we need this!”

“And what happens if we don’t abide by the rules?”

“Hmph! Every rule you break is a fifty dollar fine!”

I blinked at her, “Dollar?”

“Creas, whatever. Stupid name.”

Woman… Fifty Creas is about five thousand dollars if converted to our old World’s money! You don’t even understand the value of the money here?! How long have you even been in this World?!

I was still in the midst of wondering how out of touch these people were when Ather joined me by my side.

“And what happens if we refuse to pay?” The Comissar asked with an emotionless face.

I was honestly expecting her to start threatening Ather or something but unexpectedly, the larger sized woman paused as though she never considered the possibility of someone just outright refusing to follow the rules.

“That… That… We’ll call the police!”

Both Ather and I stared at the woman in disbelief.

I thought about pointing out to her that the guards wouldn’t even help her enforce any of her rules since they were all just frankly bullshit but Ather moved before I could.

She grabbed the pamphlet out of the woman’s hands before ripping it into half slowly.

The gasps that came from everyone else in the hall could have sucked a dragon out from the sky.

Ather wasn’t even done yet as she combined the two halves together just to tear it up again.

That seemed to be the breaking point for the woman as she let out a roar and raised her fist, clearly intending to strike at Ather.

I was going to move to intercept her but Ather pushed me back before she ducked her head, letting the woman’s fist fly over her.

Ather’s pistol appeared in her hand again and, in one smooth motion, she straightened herself and pointed the pistol at the woman’s knee.

I winced even before she fired the gun, the bullet busting the woman’s kneecap and sending the larger sized woman falling onto the floor.

“AHHHHH!!! MY LEG!!!” The woman screamed, clutching her leg while rolling on the floor.

Ather then nodded at me before walking towards the door, stepping over the woman she just shot.

That’s cold…

I decided not to stick around as well and followed after her, leaving the Guild staff to deal with that woman instead.

I half expected an angry group of women to be waiting outside for us when we stepped out but surprisingly, they weren’t there.

We moved even further away right before the Guild members that had been in that building started filing out as well, most likely expecting more problems to appear if they stayed there any longer.

Even from here, we could still hear the shrieks coming from that woman inside the Guild and I swear I wasn’t imagining the entire building shaking.

Ather let out a sigh, “This is annoying…”

“You mean those Off-Worlders?” I asked.

She nodded, “I’ve met other annoying ones before but it never occurred to me that even these types of people could be walking around in this World.”

“I mean… Everyone was given a chance to move to another World after all… So even people like them would be given that opportunity…”

“That’s not what I meant. I expected these types of people to die within the first week of coming to this World, either because they get eaten by monsters or they pissed off someone who kills them in some back alley.”

“I would say this group in particular lucked out because they actually made themselves strong enough to fight?”

“Indeed,” Ather muttered offhandedly.

Katsuki then bowed her head, “Mistress, shall I take care of this group?”

“Eh? Wait… What are you planning to do to them?”

“I can relocate them somewhere else if Mistress would like me to do so.”

I blinked at her, “Relocate them? Like… Convince them to leave this city?”

“Something like that, Mistress.”

“Err… I mean… I don’t really think that’s necessary anyway… Since we won’t be staying here for long. And I would feel bad for pushing them to some other Guild too…”

“In that case, does Mistress prefer a more permanent solution?”

“Like what?”

Katsuki simply brought up her thumb to drag it across her neck.

Oh geez… I guess I should have expected a solution like that to come from Katsuki…

Ather immediately turned to nod at her, “If you intend to do so, count me in.”

That surprised me.

“I would have expected you to stay out of something like this since it has nothing to do with your painting.”

“It has everything to do with it. Don’t you know that these people have the capacity to cause the most amount of damage?”

“Err… I dunno about that… I thought they might just be annoying, that’s all.”

“That’s only because they don’t have the strength to carry out what they want to do. But now…”

Ah… With their boons, they are clearly stronger than even the elites in this Guild… So it would take quite a lot to stop them if they actually intend to go through with their threats…

I sighed, “I don’t know about this though… It feels like it’s going to be more trouble than it’s worth… Also, isn’t murder illegal?”

Ather gave me that same expressionless look on her face and told me in a monotone voice, “No one will notice if there is nobody to notice.”

I’m not even going to comment on that.

I waved my hand, “Whatever… We’re only going to be here for a day or two at most so if they don’t cause any trouble with us, let’s not do anything either, ok?”

Katsuki bowed, “Understood, Mistress.”

Ather did not say anything and merely looked away which I assumed was her losing interest in the topic.

I couldn’t help but let out a sigh again.

All we wanted to do was to turn in a Request and register Ather as a party member… So why did we just have to meet some other unhinged Off-Worlder?

Are all the Off-Worlders here all just crazy?
