WALKER OF THE WORLDS

Chapter 2720 Arrival Of New Parties

2720  Arrival Of New Parties

Despite the fact that the immortal Qi fluctuations coming from Lin Mu seemed to be weak, at the Third Tribulation Stage, they knew it was just a facade. 'No way a Third Tribulation Stage immortal can do this.' The First High Elder thought. 'He's pretending to be a pig to hunt a tiger.' The Grand Elder understood. With such individuals, the Grand Elder knew that fighting would not be easy. Not to mention, they were already at a disadvantage, having lost so much. Engaging him in battle would bring no benefits and would instead push them deeper into an abyss. SIGH Knowing this, the two men let out long sighs, their expressions growing somber as the weight of their years settled on their faces. "Why… did you do this? What did we do to deserve this…" The Grand Elder couldn't help but ask, his voice tinged with exhaustion and disbelief. "Hah?" Lin Mu let out a sharp laugh upon hearing that. "You ask what you did? From threatening helpless commoners to hunting me down just for interfering? Are these the actions of a righteous sect? Hell, I even spared Chijin Ou and Jilin Tu. I gave you two warnings first. You ignored them. The third time, you sent assassins after me, so I gave you a severe warning. And yet, I still let your Elder live. But to try again? Even the Demonic Sects are smarter than that! At least they reassess their risks before acting out so foolishly. Did you all grow dumb from being in seclusion all this time?" Lin Mu mocked them mercilessly. Now that the Grand Elder and the First High Elder were hearing everything from Lin Mu's perspective, they couldn't help but feel a growing sense of unease. "Wait, what?" The Grand Elder's brows furrowed in surprise. "Impossible. We were told otherwise." The First High Elder's eyes narrowed. Lin Mu raised an eyebrow in incredulity. "You mean to say you were unaware of the actions of your own sect's members?" He shook his head, a cold smirk on his face. "My, my… even mortal sects are better organized than you." "How… did we end up falling into this?" Even the Grand Elder couldn't help but wonder aloud. "Now that I think of it… Why were the disciples and the elders so high-handed? I had my suspicions before, but I didn't think the Patriarch himself would be misled." The First High Elder muttered, realization dawning on his face. Lin Mu observed the two elders carefully, searching for any falsehoods in their words, but he could see that they were genuinely perplexed. A deep frown appeared on his face as a few thoughts ran through his mind. He recalled Xukong's words from before and wondered if there was truly an external factor at play. "By any chance… did the sect start taking some new substance? Whether herbs or pills? Or perhaps practice a new technique?" Lin Mu asked, his voice carrying a sharp edge. "I don't think so… why do you ask?" The Grand Elder responded, clearly puzzled. "I have a suspicion that something has been affecting the minds of your members," Lin Mu stated bluntly. "Is that even possible?" The First High Elder turned to the Grand Elder, his face full of doubt. "I don't know. There hasn't been anything like that in the sect," the Grand Elder admitted. WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH Before they could dwell on the topic any further, the sound of a large group of people approaching at high speed filled the air. Lin Mu sensed them first and saw thousands heading in their direction. Feeling their auras, he immediately knew they were coming for a fight. His grip on his swords tightened. The two elders also spotted them and were momentarily alarmed—until they recognized who they were. "The Teng Clan is here to support the River Bending Axe Sect!" came a booming declaration. "More fools," Lin Mu spat, raising his swords without hesitation. "Wait!" The Grand Elder pleaded. "I can handle this." He didn't want the situation to spiral further out of control. "Fine." Lin Mu relented. "But if they try anything, Ram Orchard City will have one less noble clan by the end of today." His voice carried a bone-chilling certainty. "Of course!" The Grand Elder quickly assured him. POOOOOOOOOOOONG! Before he could even address the Teng Clan, a deep, resonant horn echoed across the battlefield. At first, everyone assumed it was from the Teng Clan. But then, they realized the sound had come from another direction entirely. A second group of people became visible on the horizon. They arrived in a grand procession, bringing multiple carriages, chariots, and a troop of mounted beasts. Their banners billowed in the wind, proudly displaying their affiliation. "The Ten Petals Company?!" The Grand Elder's eyes widened in shock. "Why are they here?" The Patriarch of the Teng Clan's expression twisted in confusion. 12:54

GONG! "AMITABHA!" A loud gong reverberated, followed by the rhythmic chanting of a hundred monks. A golden light emerged from yet another direction, growing stronger with each moment as the chants intensified. "The monks of the Buddhist Temple?" The First High Elder turned in disbelief. "Why are they here too?" The Teng Clan Patriarch muttered, growing increasingly unsettled. "Did they come to assist the sect?" "Patriarch, did the sect have such strong ties with them? How did we not know?" an elder beside him questioned. "I don't know." The Patriarch's face darkened with unease. A sense of foreboding loomed over him. With three new factions arriving, the remaining members of the River Bending Axe Sect were at a complete loss. The tension in the air became suffocating as the various forces sized each other up. Lin Mu, however, had a faint smile on his face. He recognized a few of the figures among the approaching groups. SHUA! The Teng Clan's forces moved in closer, halting at a distance of 200 meters. "Lin Mu! Surrender yourself for the crime of harming the River Bending Axe Sect!" The Teng Clan Patriarch demanded, his voice full of self-righteous fury. My new book, 'Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World One Death At A Time' is now out!
