While Lin Mu knew it was nowhere near enough to fully charge the Four Faceted Nebula, it was at least a 0.1% increase, which was far greater than the 0.001% increase he had achieved before.
"And this is just the passive gain. If I increase my proficiency with Space, I'll be able to actively increase it too. The speed would be a lot faster," he mused, understanding the implications.
Lin Mu didn't feel the absorption through his body, as the Spatial Qi simply slipped through the space itself, directly consumed by the Four Faceted Nebula. This was why he hadn't noticed it being absorbed before.
This was precisely what he had been looking for, and now he had a clue about how to charge the Four Faceted Nebula.
"Considering the fact that the absorption sped up in the Great Void, it means that as long as there is a higher supply of Spatial Qi in its surroundings, it can continue to do this," Lin Mu thought. "And it doesn't necessarily have to be the Great Void. Any area with a high concentration of Spatial Qi should work the same."
He began pondering what other places might have a high concentration of Spatial Qi.
"There are treasures that naturally hold Spatial Qi, as well as certain minerals and crystals. But all of them are far too valuable to use for this," Lin Mu reasoned.
If he found such a treasure—such as the Spiral Flake Crystal—he would prefer to use it to absorb the Spatial Qi himself or at least improve his comprehension of Space.
During his travels, he had encountered several such materials, but most were either suited for crafting Spatial Storage Tools, offering no real benefit for his understanding of Spatial Qi, or were far too weak, usable only in basic formations.
The Spiral Flake Crystal was the only material strong enough to help him improve his comprehension of Space. Even in the Bridge Plane, the number of high-quality Spatial Materials he found useful numbered fewer than ten. Each of these cost over a hundred million credits, illustrating their rarity. While a Celestial might have access to more, Lin Mu suspected there was a reason only a few of these materials had appeared on the rewards list during the celestial trials.
Spatial materials could influence the structure of the Bridge Plane. If a capable Formation Master—or a Spatial Master like Lin Mu—obtained such materials, they might manipulate the space enough to create gates or exploit loopholes.
Allowing these materials to circulate freely would be akin to handing a thief a crowbar in a jewelry store.
The Celestial was wise to limit the Spatial Materials in circulation to those suitable for crafting tools and arrays, rather than those capable of destabilizing space itself.
This led Lin Mu to consider another potential source: Lady Kang.
"The Great Kang Auction House would likely have some materials like this in stock or be able to procure them. I should order a couple to test and see if they work on the Four Faceted Nebula," Lin Mu thought.
As he considered this, he realized how heavy the demands on his resources had become.
"I consume endless resources for the Omnicore Ascendancy. I have to eat for the Nameless Technique of the Lost Immortal—and for my stomach—and now I also have a Dao Embryo to feed," Lin Mu thought with a wry smile. His once-massive fortune might not sustain him for long at this rate.
"It was a good decision to set up some business ventures with Lady Kang. At least I'll be able to offset the costs through that," he muttered to himself.
"Hmm… If you want something with raw Spatial Qi, there is a place you can get a lot of it," Xukong's voice suddenly echoed in his mind.
"Oh? Where is it, Senior? What are they?" Lin Mu asked, his excitement evident.
"Some barren worlds damaged by Spatial Collapse, or those under the influence of Turbulent Spatial Energy, can sometimes condense Void Essence Crystals.
These contain raw Spatial Qi. You can think of them as Immortal Stones for Spatial Qi," Xukong explained. "However, acquiring them won't be easy. Most of the time, they are buried deep within the cores of destroyed worlds. Even with Phase, it would take a long time to reach them.
And digging for them might not even be possible."
"Hmm… I'll just have to keep an eye out. There are many such worlds in the Void, aren't there? Old planets that got sucked into it, like the Great Ocean World we saw in the void of the Xiaofan World?" Lin Mu recalled. řἈΝö฿Ёṣ
"Indeed. There were likely a few of them in that Great Ocean World, but you would not have been capable of retrieving them with your past abilities.
Even now, you would need to be extremely cautious in handling them. These crystals can emit random bursts of Spatial Qi, capable of tearing through flesh and bone as though it were paper.
Your Meld technique would be the safest method of capturing them," Xukong advised.
Lin Mu understood that his master was looking out for his safety, which was why he hadn't mentioned this earlier.
"Oh, there's another place where they are guaranteed to exist," Xukong suddenly added, his tone carrying a hint of mischief. "You might even find them on the surface."
"And where is that?" Lin Mu asked, intrigued.
"On the surface of stars," Xukong said in a rare teasing manner.
Lin Mu blinked in surprise, trying to gauge whether his master was joking. It was rare for him to do that and before this he had only joked about his tendency to get matchmade by the elders.
"Senior! You know that's not possible for me." Lin Mu felt like his entire excitement was doused by the spider's teasing.
It was rare for the spider to act like this, so it was also a bit refreshing on some level showing that the Great Void Weaver Spider was still not above some jokes.
I'm back home now, end of vacation. ಥ_ಥ
