Villain Ch 438. Corrupted City Core

Different from usual, once that announcement appeared, everything came to a sudden standstill. An eerie silence settled over the chaotic battlefield. Inexplicably, both players and menacing monsters alike found themselves frozen in place, unable to move a muscle. The relentless NPC inhabitants of the city, who had valiantly fought and struggled, now bore expressions of frustration and despair. Their futile attempts to resist the city's impending doom were evident in their anguished gestures and cries.

Amidst this surreal tableau, Allen and the girls remained unaffected and walked to the heart of the city. At the heart of the beleaguered city, from the middle of a grandiose fountain of healing, a singular artifact manifested itself. This was none other than the city's core, a symbol of Elenoria Kingdom's enduring legacy. The artifact took on the shape of a majestic emblem, a testament to the city's resilience and unwavering spirit. Intricately designed, the emblem boasted elegant, intertwining patterns that paid homage to the kingdom's rich history. It was a testament to the unity and strength of the city's inhabitants.

[The City Core has appeared in the Middle of the city!]

As the players remained immobilized, their eyes were fixed upon the surreal tableau unfolding before them. Allen, the enigmatic antagonist who had wreaked havoc upon the city, and the group of formidable young women, now approached the city's core with an air of determined resolve. The players could do nothing but watch, their gazes locked upon this pivotal moment.

With deliberate intent, Allen extended his hand toward the city's core, the emblem of Elenoria Kingdom. In response to his touch, an announcement materialized before.

[Do you want to claim this city as yours?]

[Yes / No]

'Yes.' Allen chose.

From Allen's palm, a malevolent force emerged, tendrils of darkness spiraling around the once-illuminated emblem. The emblem's radiant glow dulled and warped, shifting into an eerie, ominous shade. The fountain of healing, once a symbol of solace and recovery, was now tainted by this newfound malevolence.

Slowly but steadily, the corruption transformed the once-soothing fountain into a grotesque tower, its twisted form looming ominously over the beleaguered city. At its pinnacle, the dark artifact pulsed with wicked energy, a silent testament to the dire circumstances that had befallen Ront.

For the players to reclaim their city, the source of this nefarious transformation, the corrupted artifact, must be destroyed.

More announcements appeared in front of Allen.

[Which Boss / Mini Boss monster do you want to station here? Maximum 3 monsters.]

[Slime King]

[Gryphon]

[Ghost Master]

[Wolf King]

[Doppelganger]

[Mummy King]

[Lust]

[Behemoth]

[Chimera]

[Werewolf Lord]

Allen sifted through his options, weighing the strengths and abilities of his available monsters. After careful consideration, he decided to assemble a formidable team consisting of the Werewolf Lord, the Chimera, and the Ghost Master. Each brought their unique attributes to the table, creating a well-rounded force.

The Werewolf Lord was the embodiment of sheer melee might, capable of devastating opponents up close with its raw power. Meanwhile, the Chimera added an elemental twist to their arsenal, making them versatile spellcasters who could adapt to various situations. Finally, the Ghost Master's mastery of stealth and surprise attacks would keep their enemies on their toes.

But that wasn't all. Allen knew that to conquer the next city, he would require a different set of monsters. The Doppelganger, Mummy King, Lust, and Behemoth would form the backbone of his main assault force. Each monster had its role to play, from the cunning deceptions of the Doppelganger to the overwhelming strength of the Behemoth.

In addition, Allen recognized the importance of air support, and the Gryphon would be his main asset for aerial assaults. With this carefully chosen lineup, Allen was poised to launch his next campaign, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Soon, an announcement appeared in front of all the players.

[The Devil Emperor has chosen Werewolf Lord, Chimera, and Ghost Master as the guardians of the dark tower!]

Another announcement appeared in front of Allen.

[What monster do you want to put in the tower? Write down three of the types of monsters you have defeated.]

Allen typed. 'Incubus Torturer, Killerfly, Wicked Fairy.'

Yes, again those three types of monsters had good melee and magical attacks. Incubus Torturer for melee, Wicked Fairy for magic attack, and this type of monster had a magic attack element that was different for each individual and was random. And the killerfly was the most annoying monster of all since its agility was the enemy of all classes.

Another announcement appeared in front of all the players.

[The Devil Emperor has chosen Incubus Torturer, Killerfly and Wicked Fairy as the dark tower's guardian troops!]

The girls also prepared to unleash their chosen obstacles and monsters. They had been given the opportunity to design their own challenges, and they were eager to see how these obstacles would affect the unfolding events.

Each of the girls had two chances to make their mark on the battlefield. The first choice was the type of obstacle they wanted to use, a unique challenge to test the players. The second choice allowed them to select the type of monster that would join the fray, adding an extra layer of complexity to the dark tower.

Once they had made their selections and the preparations were complete, the dark tower that loomed in the center of the city underwent a transformation. The ominous flames extinguished, the billowing smoke dissipated, and darkness enveloped the tower. When the NPCs started to return to their designated positions, they wore expressions of sorrow and gloom. Some NPCs even shed tears, their virtual emotions mirroring the tragic state of the city.

The reconstruction of the city was a bittersweet affair. While buildings reappeared, they did so only partially, ensuring that essential locations and rooms remained accessible. Battle scars and scorched marks marred the once-pristine structures and streets, serving as haunting reminders of the devastation that had unfolded.

The sky overhead retained its eerie reddish-black hue, a haunting testament to the city's new ruler, the devil emperor.

[The war event has finished!]

The devil emperor, the girls, and the monstrous horde that had terrorized the city vanished into thin air, leaving behind a city scarred by their presence.

Simultaneously, all the players found themselves in a teleportation whirlwind, whisked away from the chaos and back to the city's gate.
