Villain Ch 1075. Goddess Guardian

Without stopping his attack, Allen launched into Jane’s impromptu song, though his version was far from cheerful. His voice was deep and menacing, with an eerie, almost murderous cadence to it.

“Grind away, grind away,

EXP for me today!

Kill those monsters, gain that loot,

And level up to slay!”

His voice resonated with his darker side, turning the playful tune into something far more sinister.

Shea, caught off guard by the sudden duet, shook her head in mock despair. “Oh no… it’s a duet now. This is getting worse…” she sobbed.

Larissa couldn’t help but smirk as she flicked her blood tendrils toward the next batch of undead. “A duet in the middle of a battlefield… we really are something,” she said, her voice tinged with dark amusement.

Bella giggled from her position. “We definitely are something,” she agreed, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

But then, the ground beneath them trembled violently, the vibrations deep and ominous.

The group stilled as the booming sounds echoed through the monastery. The air around them felt heavier, charged with the approach of something far larger than the horde they were currently dealing with. Everyone froze, their eyes instinctively turning toward the source of the shaking. The sight that met them was anything but comforting.

Two massive stone statues, shaped like goddesses in armor and wielding swords, lumbered toward them from deeper within the monastery. The statues were towering—at least three meters tall—and their sheer size made the ground tremble with each step. Both statues were headless. One of the statues had no hand, but still gripped a huge sword in one hand. The other had two hands, but its sword was broken.

Their stone bodies creaked and groaned with each movement.

Goddess Guardian <Level 131>

“Uh oh…” Alice muttered as she stared at the massive figures.

Vivian pointed toward the approaching statues. “Trouble, guys,” she announced.

Allen’s sharp eyes scanned the battlefield. The undead horde showed no signs of stopping, still emerging from all directions. Between the relentless horde and the newly arrived Goddess Guardians, they were quickly becoming surrounded. He needed to make a decision.

“We’ve got this, right?” Larissa asked. She wasn’t one to get nervous, but the appearance of these statues added an unpredictable element to the fight.

Allen glanced at the Guardians, their massive forms looming closer, the heavy sound of their stone feet growing louder with each step. They weren’t mini-bosses, but their size and strength meant they would be a problem, especially with the horde still pressing in on them.

He made his decision quickly, his mind racing through their best options. “You guys handle the horde,” Allen announced, his voice steady and commanding. “I’ll take care of the Guardians.” He turned to Bella and Jane. “I’ll leave securing the perimeter to both of you,” he said.

Jane, standing next to Bella, gave Allen a quick nod. “Got it. We’ll hold the line.”

Bella grinned, her fox ears twitching with excitement. “Leave it to us! Securing the perimeter is our specialty.”

Allen turned back to the approaching statues, his sword glowing with dark energy as he prepared for the battle ahead. The Hellfire Rain he had cast earlier was still keeping the immediate area around them clear, but it wouldn’t last much longer. He needed to deal with the Guardians quickly, or the entire group would be overwhelmed.

With a swift motion, Allen unleashed his area skill.

‘Dark Storm.’

The air around him crackled with dark energy as a violent tempest of shadows and lightning erupted from above, spreading out in a wide radius. The storm engulfed both the horde of undead and the two Goddess Guardians, the swirling darkness tearing through the cursed monks and priests.

The immediate impact caused several of the smaller monsters to disintegrate, while the larger ones, including the Guardians, staggered under the onslaught.

The most important part of the skill, however, was the paralysis effect. For a few crucial seconds, the entire battlefield was frozen in place—monks, priests, and Guardians alike locked in a momentary stasis. It bought Allen and the group precious time to reposition.

Without wasting a second, Allen used his Telekinesis Blast to push the two Guardians further away from the safe perimeter he and his team had established.

The force of the blast sent the headless statues stumbling back, their heavy forms crashing against the stone floor as they were forced away from the group. Dust and debris filled the air, but Allen was already on the move.

“Shadow Step.”

Allen teleported across the battlefield, reappearing in front of the first Guardian—the one still holding a sword. He aimed directly for its wrist, intending to sever the connection and disarm the statue in one swift motion.

His sword flashed through the air, striking with the full force. But when the blade connected, instead of a satisfying impact and the shattering of stone, something strange happened. The cut barely left a mark.

[You have cut a Goddess Guardian for 102 HP]

Allen’s eyes narrowed, immediately realizing something was off.

‘102 HP?!’

He was the Devil Emperor, and his attacks should have dealt significantly more damage, especially to a monster that wasn’t even a boss. His attack power should have overwhelmed a level 131 creature, and yet, his sword barely scratched the surface.

‘Is this related to the game mechanics?’ Allen thought, stepping back as the Guardian slowly recovered from the paralysis. He was deep in thought. There were some games where brute strength and power weren’t enough to defeat specific monsters—sometimes he needed to think, to solve a puzzle or understand the creature’s weakness. This fight felt like one of those situations.

The Guardian, now freed from the paralysis, swung its massive sword toward Allen, the blow sending a gust of wind through the chamber.

Allen dodged, narrowly avoiding the strike, but the impact sent cracks spiderwebbing through the stone floor where the sword landed. The force of the attack was immense—if that hit had landed, it would have been devastating.
