Chapter 159: Ancestral Awakening Battle! Jiuyin Mystical Water vs. the Flames of the Golden Crow

The black crow grew a third leg. It slowly ascended into the sky, radiating golden light that was dazzling and blinding, resembling a black bird standing within the heart of the sun.

Sensing an extremely dangerous aura, Jiuying hesitated and didn’t dare approach recklessly.

Seeing this, everyone—including its owner, the Golden Crow Divine Son—was utterly shocked!

Members of the Golden Crow Clan trembled as their gazes flickered with disbelief, murmuring in awe.

“Ancestral awakening… this is ancestral awakening!”

“It has awakened the true power of the Golden Crow!”

The so-called Golden Crow Clan merely carried a thin trace of Golden Crow bloodline, enabling them to wield some Golden Crow divine abilities. However, with each generation, the bloodline grew thinner—a drawback of relying on ancient bloodlines.

In their eyes, a true Golden Crow was akin to a god. This crow, originally just a spirit beast kept by the Golden Crow Clan and often seen idly playing on mountaintops, only possessed a faint trace of the Golden Crow bloodline, which explained its strength.

Yet now, it had undergone an ancestral awakening, fully unlocking its Golden Crow bloodline. Its bloodline power had multiplied tenfold, transforming it into a genuine Three-Legged Golden Crow!

Even Saints and Great Emperors couldn’t remain seated, rising in astonishment.

“An ancient divine beast, the Three-Legged Golden Crow!”

“To think such an upheaval would occur in a mere beast duel!”

“Hahaha, an ancestral awakening of its bloodline—excellent, simply excellent!”

Kui Long the Great Emperor beamed with joy. A moment ago, he thought his defeat was imminent, but the tables had turned dramatically.

Now that this Golden Crow had undergone ancestral awakening, what spirit beast could possibly defeat it?

He thought to himself, ‘Sword Emperor, I’ll watch to see how long you can maintain your arrogance. You’re destined to lose this wager!’

Within the arena, the temperature was soaring rapidly, soon exceeding a thousand degrees.

The scorching heat twisted the air, ignited the grass on the ground, and cracked the earth, as if a miniature sun hung above their heads.

“Hahaha! Wonderful!” The Golden Crow Divine Son stood below, unharmed, entirely unaffected by the heat.

But Lin Qi’an and Jiuying weren’t so lucky. Faced with this indiscriminate area-of-effect attack, they had no choice but to muster their strength to resist the terrifying heat.

“Golden Crow Flames!” Ye Yun’s eyes glimmered with fanaticism.

By sheer chance, he had previously inherited a fragment of the Golden Crow’s legacy and gained a trace of Golden Crow Flames.

Even that small amount had greatly enhanced his strength. He was well aware of how terrifying the flames could be. Never did he expect to witness the emergence of a true Golden Crow here!

’Lin Qi’an, your defeat is finally upon you.’ By now, Ye Yun’s mindset had shifted.

In the past, he desperately sought to prove himself and kill Lin Qi’an with his own hands. Now, simply seeing someone else defeat Lin Qi’an was enough to satisfy him.

“How could this happen…” Ran Yuwei’s voice had dropped to a whisper. Her teeth bit down on her red lips, her eyes filled with worry.

What had seemed like an overwhelming victory had taken a sudden, unexpected turn.

“Lin Qi’an, get out of there!” Lin Liuli stood up and shouted.

Staying any longer in the arena would mean being subjected to the indiscriminate onslaught of the Golden Crow Flames.

These flames were powerful enough to overwhelm even a Dao Transformation cultivator, let alone someone at the early stages of the Celestial Layer!

“Your Highness, please leave the arena!”

Voices called out for Lin Qi’an to exit the battleground. Losing this match didn’t matter, so long as his life was safe—that was all anyone cared about.

But the spectators from the Tianhai Dao Domain, along with the Kui Dragon Clan and Golden Crow Clan, had no such goodwill.

“Wasn’t he so arrogant just now? He better not leave!”

“Haha, who was mocking us earlier for losing two-on-one? Now it’s our turn! Come on, say something!”

“Please, beg your Crown Prince to stay in the arena. He looks so impressive right now!”

“As expected of the Crown Prince—he’s even enduring the scorching flames of the Golden Crow! Let’s hope he keeps holding out!”

The jeering and sarcastic remarks filled the air, their triumphant attitudes on full display. They had been holding in their frustration for too long.

Arriving in such a grandiose fashion, losing the first round was bad enough. If they lost the second round despite a two-on-one advantage, they wouldn’t know where to hide their faces!

Winning this round was essential to boost their morale.

Lin Qi’an shielded himself with his Nine Yang Divine Flames, but even so, beads of sweat formed on his forehead. He knew that as time went on, his defenses wouldn’t hold.

“Your Highness, please leave the field!” Even the host, a Half-Saint elder, couldn’t help but advise him.

Lin Qi’an could leave the battlefield, and the duel would continue, though at the cost of some face. Avoiding the edge of the Golden Crow Flames wouldn’t be considered too humiliating.

After all, the Crown Prince had essentially won before this unexpected development. There was no way anyone could have predicted such a turn of events—it was simply bad luck.

“Still not leaving? Looks like you really can’t bear to admit defeat, Lin Qi’an!” Jin Lingkong laughed heartily.

Bathed in the Golden Crow’s radiance, he felt invigorated, his body brimming with heat and vitality. Even his cultivation was improving!

Meanwhile, Jiuying stirred.

Despite being scorched by the intense flames and lying prone on the ground in pain, a faint white glow emerged around its body.

This glow enveloped Jiuying, steadily expanding. Its injuries had unexpectedly accelerated the digestion of its stored energy, which now coursed through its body, strengthening it.

The Golden Crow Flames, which had burned it so fiercely, had ironically become a catalyst for its growth.

Sensing the aura of the ancient Golden Crow, Jiuying’s own ancient bloodline began to awaken.

When the white light faded, Jiuying’s transformation left everyone speechless.

Its snow-white body had grown several hundred times larger, returning to its original massive size.

Yet its power was on a completely different level than before.

Under the scorching flames of the Golden Crow, Jiuying now stood tall and unafraid, all nine heads raised high.

The connection between Jiuying and the Golden Crow wasn’t just a coincidence. According to ancient myths, Jiuying lived in the Fiendish Waters and could spew water and fire.

During the time of the ten suns, the Fiendish Waters boiled, forcing Jiuying to leave its home. Rampaging across the land, it devoured anyone it encountered.

After Hou Yi shot down nine of the suns, he turned his bow to slay Jiuying. Thus, sensing the aura of the Golden Crow, Jiuying’s ancestral awakening now seemed almost fitting.

“This… this Jiuying has awakened its ancient bloodline too?”

“What the hell?!”

“Are you kidding me? Since when did ancestral awakening become this casual?!”

The audience erupted into chaos. This was supposed to be a simple beast duel—not some apocalyptic battle. Did it really need to escalate to this level?

Now, everyone stared, slack-jawed and speechless, at the center of the arena.

Jiuying moved and this time, all nine heads opened their mouths, aiming at the Golden Crow in the sky.

Streams of water shot forth, shimmering with a crystalline glow like moonlight cutting across the air.

“That’s… Taiyin Mystical Water?!” An elder suddenly stood up, his voice trembling with excitement.

“What is Taiyin Mystical Water?”

“The Golden Crow Flames can’t be extinguished by ordinary water, but the Taiyin Mystical Water can!”

“This Jiuying can spew Taiyin Mystical Water? Unbelievable!”

Nine streams of water transformed into water dragons in mid-air, coiling around the Golden Crow.

A loud cry echoed as the once-blinding light of the sun dimmed. The oppressive heat began to dissipate, and the temperature in the arena dropped.

The Three-Legged Golden Crow fell to the ground, motionless.

Jiuying… had won.
