Luo Ziling made the next move before the men could flank him.
Once more, he kicked up a small rock and sent it flying toward Li Dongjun. Immediately after that, he leaped toward the man he had beaten down twice; he had selected the first bodyguard who had attacked him as the one to take down.
That man was surprised to find Luo Ziling still willing to fight even after Li Dongjun had pulled out his gun.
Bang!
The deafening crack of gunfire could be heard right as Li Dongjun’s bodyguard sailed through the air.
Shortly after, the sound of someone moaning painfully could be heard.
It was Li Dongjun. Luo Ziling had scored a direct hit on his jaw with his rock. Nearly half of his front row teeth had been knocked out and it seemed like his finger had accidentally squeezed the trigger of his gun, which had its safety off, amidst the painful confusion.
Instead of firing toward Luo Ziling, the bullet was sent skyward.
Li Dongjun stumbled backward after being hit with the rock, and because he was reaching up to grab hold of something for support, the bullet was fired in an upward direction.
Luo Ziling nearly jumped out of his skin the moment his ears picked up the sound of gunfire. Even Li Dongjun’s own men were shaken up by the abrupt ruckus.
Still, Luo Ziling regained his senses earlier than his foes. With two consecutive kicks, he brought the remaining man, who remained unscathed, down onto the ground.
All of a sudden, the man who was writhing in pain on the ground pulled out a gun and pointed it toward Luo Ziling.
“What the f*ck, you guys are armed?” Luo Ziling was dumbfounded as he realized that the situation he was in was far worse than he had imagined.
‘Who are these people? Why on earth are they all armed?’
The toothless Li Dongjun struggled back to his feet and pointed his pistol at Luo Ziling, who, at gunpoint, remained as still as a statue.
The gunman then burst out into laughter.
It wasn’t for long though, as pain soon overwhelmed his senses.
Reaching up to his mouth, Li Dongjun’s fingers dripped with blood. Forcefully, he spat out the remaining teeth that dangled in his gums onto the ground.
Realizing how many teeth he had lost due to Luo Ziling, Li Dongjun was so enraged that he was prepared to execute Luo Ziling there and then.
Luo Ziling nimbly darted away from where the gun was pointed at and hid behind Ouyang Huihui’s car.
Just then, a handful of cars pulled up right in the middle of the scene. Luo Ziling had grown familiar with these cars. On either end of the convoy were Mercedes Benz S600s while a long, robust looking car stopped in between. He had no idea what that car was but he could make out a double-stacked R emblem at the front of its hood.
A handful of men, also clad in black, emerged from the S600s before the convoy rolled to a stop.
They all carried weapons, which they aimed at Li Dongjun as well as his gun-wielding men. An order then came for them to lay down their firearms.
The door of the mysterious car then popped open and out came a woman who sported a slick business suit.
That woman whose looks alone could kill, was none other than Ouyang Feifei.
Hopping out of her car, Ouyang Huihui made a dash for her sister.
“Sis, you’re finally here! I thought I was a goner!” Ouyang Huihui said as she tugged on her sister’s arm. “I never thought that they’d be armed. They even fired a shot! Thank God no one was hit!”
Ouyang Feifei ignored her pesky little sister. With a stone-cold expression, she faced Li Dongjun whose face was almost unrecognisable from all the blood.
“Li Dongjun, tell your men to stand down.”
“Why should I do that?” He bellowed, having lost his rational mind. Spitting out a mouthful of blood and spit, he yelled like a madman. “This bastard’s got me beat up like this! I’ll take his life in return! Don’t stand in my way or you’ll regret it!”
Ouyang Feifei turned away from Li Dongjun and issued an order to her bodyguards.
“If anyone moves a muscle, end them.”
Her men then moved forward with their guns still pointed at Li Dongjun and his men.
Being held at gunpoint stunned both Li Dongjun as well as his bodyguards. Never in his life did he ever think that his beloved Ouyang Feifei would do such a thing to him.
Soon, they were disarmed by her men.
“Feifei, who is that man? Why are you saving him?!” roared Li Dongjun as blood spewed out of his mouth.
“You should head for the hospital as soon as you can, Li Dongjun,” replied Ouyang Feifei. “I will handle this matter from now on.”
“This bastard’s been bullying your sister. I’m just trying to stand up for her and I got beat up in the process. So why are you still standing on his side? What is the meaning of this?!”
Li Dongjun had become so overwhelmed with anger that he disregarded the fresh, warm blood that oozed out of his mouth unendingly.
Ouyang Feifei glared at her little sister, and was met by Ouyang Huihui lowering her head in an attempt to avert her gaze.
It took just a few seconds for Ouyang Feifei to deduce roughly what had just happened. Still, it wasn’t the time to give her sister a lengthy lecture. Standing firmly on Luo Ziling’s side, she responded to Li Dongjun’s question.
“The Ouyang family will take responsibility for what this man has done.”
“What?!” Li Dongjun was flustered. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Ouyang Feifei, are you defending this man? Who is he to you?”
Ouyang Feifei stared back at Li Dongjun for quite a while before she finally opened her mouth.
“He’s my fiance.”
This statement shocked Ouyang Huihui even more than Li Dongjun.
It never crossed her mind that her own sister would say such a thing in front of so many outsiders. Could it be? That having gone two days without being in contact with Luo Ziling had triggered her unexplained interest in the man? Had she fallen for him? Did she really think this through?
If that wasn’t the case, she typically wouldn’t even consider saying such a thing in front of so many people.
Ouyang Feifei appeared to be able to detect what her little sister was thinking as she turned back to give her the death stare.
Ouyang Huihui was so frightened that she kept her mouth shut.
Luo Ziling, too, had been given the shock of his life. Not even in his dreams was he able to imagine a scene like this. He clearly remembered turning her down, so why is she calling him her fiance? Just what trick did this woman have up her sleeve?
Li Dongjun was no different. Wide-eyed, he was speechless. Just when did a fiance pop into her life?
There were tens of thousands of men pursuing the “twin pearls of Yenching”. How could he not be shocked to learn that one of them was already engaged?
Without waiting for Li Dongjun to respond, Ouyang Feifei continued. “The Ouyang family remains responsible for what has happened today. As we have an urgent event to attend, we will be leaving now.”
Ouyang Feifei then returned to her car.
The tall beauty who had followed Ouyang Feifei down from the car trailed behind her.
Before she entered the car, Ouyang Feifei stopped and turned toward Luo Ziling.
“Ziling, you ride with me. Huihui, follow us. Give your keys to my men.”
While Ouyang Huihui stood there in dismay, Luo Ziling nodded toward Ouyang Feifei’s men as well as Li Dongjun and his goons before hastily clambering into the seat next to Ouyang Feifei.
