257 Blood Stained Hands <3>
Lotus couldn’t understand.
She looked at City H that was filled with the smell of death and looked at Petra. “We have to go. A lot of giant mutated animals will come to City H because of the previous battles and others. Our small team would never be able to face so many giant mutated animals.”
Petra nodded with dark face. “We’re leaving.”
“You’re breaking the contract!” the commander yelled.
“So what?” Petra sneered. “Do you still have any energy to deal with us? With this condition, you can’t even provide the reward you promised.”
The commander was mad, but he really couldn’t do anything.
The other teams who came here had already silently left and Petra was also leaving. The military team were all killed in that brutal reverse healing proses not long ago.
City H is doomed.
Lotus looked at the city behind her, her eyes lowered slightly. The reason why she chose to follow Petra’s group was also to stop these tragedies from happening, but she never expected that Kate would have been this strong.
.....
When she heard that Kate was already rank 6, she felt weak on her knees.
She herself was only at the peak of rank 5, almost reaching rank 6. With so many resources she had consumed in order to make herself strong, why can’t she catch up with those villains?
Lotus think it’s unacceptable.
But so what?
She could only accept the fate and worked hard in order to be able to grow stronger and have a say in this cruel world. No matter where it is, the law had never change: only those who were strong had a say in this world.
If she wanted to change her fate, she could only do her best to grow stronger as fast as possible.
She didn’t want to be like this for her entire life.
She wanted to be strong, strong enough to no longer be controlled by the fear of death just like what happened in her past life.
…
<In a hill not far from City H>
Kent and his group was watching the farce and shook their head. Looking at the people who were dying, they felt chills on their back. After all, they understood very well that if Kate had wanted to, she could easily kill them leaving only withered corpses that could be crushed easily.
It was very scary.
Not to mention, under the matter of losing her control like that, it was obvious that they might not be able to keep their lives intact if they were within the vicinity of City H instead of this hill.
Their decision to run away back then was correct.
Even though Kent’s team had lost some people, but many of them were still alive albeit injured. With enough time, they would be able to recover and continue to roam around in this wilderness.
“Boss, this…”
“Forget what you have seen.” Kent took a deep breath. “Not everyone who have power want to control the world and not everyone who had the power will have the chance to realize it.”
The men were stunned.
“We owe her our lives. Are you going to be ungrateful b*stard who didn’t know how to say thanks? The first thing we could do is to shut our mouth and leave. Secondly, beat up whoever dared to spread false rumors.”
“Yes, Boss!”
Kent passed another look to the back and shook his head. The world changed and human’s depravity and fear of the unknown had been pushed to the limit. He didn’t want to be part of this damned play.
City H is doomed.
With so many giant mutated animals rushing towards the city, it would be a miracle for the city to stay intact. He would not help and those who were left would eventually be buried.
Smell of death permeated heavily from the ruins of City H.
It told them the cruel truth:
Humans were indeed very weak.
…
<Alisa’s Group>
After the battle with that rank 7 giant mutated snake, there were a lot of giant mutated animals that came as a horde. Alisa and the people in her team wisely chose to retreat slowly outside the range of City H.
They couldn’t understand why these giant mutated animals were so attracted to City H, but they knew that they should go if they didn’t want to die. The mission clearly only stated that they were tasked to deal with that rank 7 giant mutated animals and not the others giant mutated animals.
Not to mention, it was highly probable that their mission this time would not be rewarded.
Two rank 6 were lost.
Alisa still could see it even from a distance away because the battle there had been extremely clear. With these people yelling about the reverse healers instead of caring about their safety and also the giant mutated animals around, she already had an inkling about what they were talking about.
“How disgusting,” Alisa spat out when she watched their discussion.
“Miss, this matter will be reported to Master. There might be some problems and your training session had to be postponed for the time being.”
Alisa nodded.
She only came out here for the sake of training instead of because of the mission’s reward. She was getting stronger mostly because of those gems that she absorbed along with the crystals that her father provided for her.
But her own battle experience was very poor.
Thus, Alisa agreed to roam around.
But with this incident occurred, she could guess that it would be impossible for her to roam around for the time being and had to stay low.
“They should be the people who followed that madman.” Alisa clicked her tongue. “We’re going back now.”
“Yes, Miss.”
“Also, figure out a way to contact their team.”
The man’s expression changed when he heard what Alisa said. He didn’t think that Alisa will be giving such an order.
“Miss, do you mean the Black team?”
