Chapter 60: Mysterious Black Space Part 1
Well... Sh*t'
These were the last thoughts Azmond had before he was hit by a dazzling bolt of lightning bigger than anything he had ever seen in both lifetimes.
BOOOOooOoOOoOOoMMM!!
A loud explosion resounded across the area, as Azmond was at the center of the explosion radius!
BOOOOOOM!
He was sent flying from thousands of meters in the sky, followed by a few sonic booms echoing out!
BOOOOM!
Azmond crashed into a giant mountain range that exploded upon impact!
...
A charred figure was visible in the depths of a large pit that looked like a nuclear bomb had found its mark and hit it dead on.
This charred figure started to think to himself. 'Well, it looks like I underestimated the heavens a little too much, haha...'
A self-deprecating smile seemed to form on the charred figure as he tried to lift his arms, but to no avail.
After trying a few times and ending up with the same result, Azmond began to laugh an inexplicable laugh.
"Hahaha!"
Or, at least, he was doing what one would assume was laughing as his incinerated vocal cords were making weird-looking movements as if they were trying to perform a very intense laugh.
...
10 minutes later.
The charred figure finally stopped gurgling on its scorched vocal cords as he put on a contemplative expression inside his head.
'I should be able to heal from this, but it looks like it'll take a while...'
'I guess I should just sit here and deal with the intense pain that feels like billions of termites are crawling through my skin...' Azmond thought to himself with a pained expression that demonstrated just what sort of excruciating torture he was experiencing right now.
Azmond was in so much pain that he felt like dying, but he knew that crying like a baby because of some mere pain was something that he would never do.
So instead of whining, Azmond decided it was best that he start laughing with half of his face no longer connected to his body.
Such an action only made the pain he was feeling even worse, but Azmond didn't feel like stopping, so he just continued to laugh nonstop with a slight smile that was almost made visible on his singed features.
In life, it was best to just laugh if something was unfair...
Just smile and laugh until you make it out in one piece...
....
10 hours later.
'Even with my already fast regenerative speed, I still needed 10 whole hours to be able to heal up fully.'
A once-laughing Azmond leaped up from the deep pit he created, followed by a few sonic booms sounding out as his immaculate figure landed a few hundred meters away from the edge of the crash site.
"Those stupid bastards really had to mess with me like a bunch of fools and waste over 10 hours of my precious time that could've been spent cultivating but was instead used on their silly games," he mumbled with a dissatisfied tone.
"I'm really starting to hate those clowns."
A hint of anger began to emerge on Azmond's chiseled features before they disappeared as soon as they came.
"Whatever, I am just glad that I can finally check out my gains from breaking through to the 15th Stage of Quantum Qi Condensation," he began.
"I wasn't able to inspect the inside of my body with my divine sense the entire time I was within that pit because all my energy was being focused on healing my body."
Azmond's expression turned toward one filled with expectation, as he wanted to look at his gains from the breakthrough.
But, before he could...
"...Hmm?... Wha-?"
Azmond was knocked unconscious.
His chiseled body fell to the ground with a loud thud as the ground beneath him cracked in a spiderweb shape from the sheer amount of weight that was contained within his physique.
...
In a pitch-black space, there was only an otherworldly handsome man with long raven-black hair laying down on the hard black surface of the space.
...
The man woke up with an abrupt movement as he leaned up like he just had cold water splashed all over his face.
"Where am I?? What happened?!?"
A puzzled expression was plastered across Azmond's features as he scanned the surrounding area and found...
Nothing...
The entire space Azmond found himself in was completely pitch black.
He couldn't see a single thing around him, even with his relatively high cultivation base.
Azmond gave up on using his vision to determine where he was and decided to use his hands instead.
He felt around for a while, but only a hard, slick ground floor surrounded him.
Azmond tried everything he could to get an idea of where he ended up, but nothing got him any closer to figuring that out.
It was then that he decided he would use more 'drastic' measures.
...
"I am on top of some weird black surface. Maybe I should try to..."
Azmond's confused expression turned to a cruel one as he took one of his legs and lifted it into the air.
"Let's see if this weird place can be broken then, heh~"
Azmond's lifted leg spiraled toward the ground in a flash as he started chuckling a little.
BOOOOooOOOoOM!!
A loud explosion was heard as the aftereffects of his kick echoed across the entire black space!
But, to Azmond's surprise...
"Huh...?"
He looked down at the spot that should've been destroyed by his full power kick, and yet...
The entire place was left undamaged.
Not a single scratch or hint of any sort of harm inflicted on the hard surface floor of the black space was visible.
...
"What?..." Azmond was completely astonished at this development.
"Although I have just broken through, I should still have the pure destructive strength of someone in the late-nascent soul stage," he muttered.
"So what is this bullsh*t?!? I can't even break a simple black floor with a kick that could be compared to a nuclear bomb and not lose out by much."
Azmond was baffled, to say the least.
But his bewilderment didn't stop him from trying once more to destroy the ground surface.
...
20 minutes later.
"What the hell is this nonsense?!??"
Azmond was left in an absolutely stunned state after he looked at the still unscathed black surface.
"..."
