Chapter 652: Chapter 65: The Appearance

The students around were also deeply moved; Lucas knew that his actions would come with a severe cost.

At best, his future would be ruined; at worst, he might face imprisonment.

As the head of the Mechanical Department and still young with a promising future, no one expected Lucas to take such a hard stance.

In fact, Lucas hadn’t been fully determined to act, but today’s events propelled him forward. If students unrelated to the current situation could fight for justice, how could he, Wal’s father, stand by and watch these students be punished? He had to bear it all.

Today’s events had not only been about Wal’s injury but had shattered Lucas’s long-held beliefs. His values had crumbled, leading to complete despair towards Lucas University, which held extraordinary meaning for him. He had devoted his entire time there and had planned to dedicate his life to its cause.

But now, he had to stand up—for Wal and for those students searching for justice.

“Did we fail?” Lucas looked toward Nilo, who lay on the ground, his last deadly attack blocked by one of his men. It was unclear how Nilo was faring now.

“Take him.” The figure in black Armor spoke coldly, and the armed forces locked down Lucas.

“Dad.” Wal shouted, wanting to rush forward but was held back by Xu Mo; his intervention would be useless now.

“Little Wal, don’t be rash.” A voice came from behind them.

“Grandpa Lu.” Wal called out, and Grandpa Lu walked forward, advancing step by step towards Lucas.

“He’s at least the Dean of the Mechanical Department. Could you let him speak?” Grandpa Lu addressed the leader.

“Grandpa Lu, Lucas has incited a student uprising and committed violence himself. We have to take him down,” the man replied.

“How do you plan to deal with this?” Grandpa Lu asked.

“I can’t decide on this matter,” the man said, and just then, people from the university hospital arrived, taking Nilo and others away for treatment.

“Grandpa Lu, Lucas went too far,” said the newcomer, Institute Director Modi.

“It’s the school’s unjust treatment,” Grandpa Lu said.

“It’s no longer just a school matter; it’s even become a diplomatic issue,” Modi spoke indifferently. “Let the students disperse. Don’t be so impulsive in the future. Take Lucas away.”

“What do you plan to do with him?” Grandpa Lu stared at Modi and asked.

“Right now, it’s not for me to decide,” Modi responded, looking at Grandpa Lu, then slightly bowed and turned to leave, with the others escorting Lucas away.

The surrounding students silently witnessed the scene, feeling powerless against the overwhelming force.

“Dad.” Wal rushed forward.

“Grandpa Lu, please look after Wal for me,” Lucas called back with a request.

“Of course,” Grandpa Lu nodded, holding back Wal who tried to follow.

“Grandpa Lu, what are they going to do to my dad?” Wal asked with red eyes and a fearful voice.

“I will do my best,” Grandpa Lu said, looking at Wal, but internally he sighed, unsure of his influence.

As the others had said, Lucas’s shot had already escalated into a diplomatic incident.

“Let’s disperse,” Grandpa Lu said to the students, but they stood their ground, filled with frustration.

Ize and Carter approached Xu Mo, and Sal gave Xu Mo a look before silently leaving. As an outsider and no longer involved with Xu Mo, he had no say in the rest of the affairs.

Xu Mo stepped forward, joining Grandpa Lu with Nan Xiangyi following, though at a loss for words.

“Xu Mo, please take care of little Wal. I have some things to do,” Grandpa Lu said to Xu Mo.

“Alright, Grandpa Lu, go ahead,” Xu Mo nodded, understanding that Grandpa Lu was probably going to make another attempt.

Grandpa Lu patted Wal on the shoulder and left. Wal crouched down, covering his face with his hands, and said, “It’s my uselessness.”

If he hadn’t been so incapable, he wouldn’t have implicated his father.

“Wal, it will be alright,” Xu Mo said.

“Brother Xu Mo, how will they deal with my dad?” Wal asked, looking up at Xu Mo with bloodshot eyes.

“They wouldn’t dare to mistreat your dad,” Xu Mo said. “I’ll help you.”

Wal was stunned and tears streamed down his face. Although he didn’t believe Xu Mo could assist him, he was still overwhelmed with gratitude and said, “Brother Xu Mo, thank you.”

Xu Mo turned and took a few steps forward, saying to Ize and Carter beside him, “Is everything ready?”

“Everything’s set up, should we really do this?” Carter asked in a low voice, his inner turmoil evident. Was Xu Mo really going to get involved?

“Yes, keep it covert, don’t expose yourself,” Xu Mo whispered.

They both nodded, acknowledging the sensitive nature of the situation.

Nan Xiangyi turned to look at Xu Mo and his companions, her heart trembling slightly as if she had caught something significant.

Xu Mo’s “I’ll help you” seemed… not to be a mere jest.

So, he was going to help Wal?

How to turn the tables!

Did this librarian from Lucas University truly have such Power?

Moreover, Nan Xiangyi realized that everything outside the Library today might have been orchestrated by Xu Mo. Nilo had been beaten because he intended to lay hands on Xu Mo.

Yet before he could even see Xu Mo, he was thoroughly thrashed.
