After tricking the Red Demon with Waygates, Damian immediately launched the full-power Gravity Reversal spell on the guy. And it was fucking powerful.. Nearly 500,000 mana points’ worth of mana for this one single spell. The Demon wasn’t even that big, but still, Damian estimated that much should be enough—seeing the similar gravity of this planet to Earth’s—to throw the guy into outer space.
Will he survive? Damian was indeed curious to find out.
All six of his companions launched attacks at their previously chosen targets. Runefather took out his giant hammer, covered in four big glowing runic circles, coated with his aura, and aimed directly at the face of the massive black-furred gorilla. The design of the weapon was Runefather’s; Damian had just inscribed the two similar spells on each side of the giant hammerhead.
One was a set of simple unfixed attraction and repulsion spells—the more mana used, the stronger the hammer would hit. It was on the smaller side of the hammer. On the longer side was a weight adjustment spell—could be swung hard and increased the weight to max on impact.
Droquar’s massive axe had enough time to reach the hammer; the impact sent shockwaves throughout the dark red volcanic region. Runefather, however, did not linger to engage in a contest of strength against the giant muscular gorilla. From behind him came a massive glowing silver figure holding a huge silver sword that caught Droquar off guard. Still, in an incredible feat of speed, the massive gorilla did manage to use the handle of his axe to parry the massive silver sword.
The silver figure was a summoned spirit of Silverspell. It was his skill—he was the original creator of this kind of warrior-spirit summoning spell that many nobles all over Vidalia’s world used. She could become as powerful as the amount of mana Silverspell could spare. And she could be summoned again and again with a cooldown, as long as he was alive. Damian had given 50 Void Step potions to Silverspell so he could stay alive getting away from the monsters instantly and power this incredible spell until the gorilla was dead. The spell was different from golem creation—Silverspell didn’t have to control her, just supply her mana, and she would obey all his commands.
Droquar might have successfully defended against the two attacks, but injuring him was never their goal—the power behind the two attacks pushed the gorilla at quite a speed to crash into the land below. Damian already had four Waygate spells ready to be launched; he positioned one quickly behind Droquar’s towering figure, which was being shot back.
Damian activated it. Droquar didn’t even have a full second to react as he passed through the blue Waygate. Runefather and Silverspell nodded at Damian and followed behind the guy through the Waygate. It led to the empty, barren land where Damian had found Silverspell.
On the side, Worldscribe and Lifewarden were both chanting and launching spells they were already holding. But the witch woman in ethereal, fluttering black-and-red revealing clothes was teleporting constantly—from here to there and somewhere completely random in milliseconds—with her black portal crackling with red lightning bolts. It wasn’t a spell but a skill, Damian could see, and she seemed to be able to spam it continuously.
Down in the distance, Sesha unleashed a whole tsunami of her purple poison liquid. It was vaporizing on contact with the massive giant made of lava, magma, and cursed metals. Powerful pillars of raw lava were being shot out of the ground as Asher was
launching his spells while flying around dodging. Sesha seemed to be moving slower compared to others, and Asher too was continuously dodging weird waves of energy coming out of T’korran’s body.
It was the cursed skill the Demon was talking about, Damian remembered.
Before he could think about what to do, an earth-shaking, monstrous roar resounded in the lava zone. All volcanoes and lava lakes around them, spreading into far distances, suddenly erupted into the air in massive quantities, as if responding to the horrifying roar.
The Dragon King.. Damian realized.
Immediately afterward, a monstrous presence descended on all of their shoulders, crushing friends and foes alike with enormous weight on their bodies. Damian immediately coated his body with mana and stopped himself from being shot down from midair. The Highswords and the Lords could still bear the pressure—with some visible effort.
Thankfully, the Dragon King did not move from its position and was still behind them at some distance.
The T’korran guy was on the land and didn’t seem like he could fly, so Damian opened a massive Waygate covering its whole body. He too sensed it seconds before the Waygate materialized, but couldn’t get out with his enormous body fast enough. Asher and Sesha followed behind the guy.
Damian had sent them to where he had found Sesha before. Hopefully, the difference in temperature helps in the fight—though Damian doubted it would.
Now it was the witch’s turn. But she wasn’t staying still at all, constantly teleporting around. She couldn’t go farther than 20 meters, though, with a single leap, Damian noticed.
Since the Dragon King was not coming to him, Damian decided to play with the witch. He flew closer to Worldscribe and Lifewarden, who were still launching a projectile spell once in a while, but mostly they were just thinking about what to do while keeping the witch busy. Damian had given them some tools, but they still needed to find a good opportunity to use them.
With a smile, Damian powered up all three of his mana cubes and used his intent and hundreds of mana threads to create over 300 mini suns—the same spell the red Demon had used against him. Without even aiming himself, Damian launched all of them. The target was fixed, and all 300 of them had a tracking function to target an individual with noticeable mana in the general direction of their path.
All three of them had their eyes wide open as they saw bright, condensed spheres of fire being shot in the witch’s direction. Swallowing hard, the witch—Zenthari—used her portals to the limit of her skill, putting a strain on her mana, and still, the 300 suns never left her alone.
At last, they caught up, and a massive explosion happened in midair, shaking the whole lava region once again.
