Chapter 1597: Charging The Formation
Rowan’s experience of pain was constantly evolving, and he had long stopped experiencing pain in the sort of ways that most living beings experienced it.
However, he faced diverse and potent sources of energies whose reality-warping energies could cause myriad effects that could create effects far greater than pain.
Rowan could not dodge the second salvo of the Alcion Heavenly Formation, and he was slammed into the ground, his skin and three-quarters of his flesh over his bones evaporating in an instant. It was a good thing that his Origin Land was a part of his flesh, but also not, or the consequences would be more severe than he could imagine.
The pain he was experiencing, however, was… indeed interesting. Rowan had never felt anything quite like it, as it was almost as if every nerve he possessed and multiple others he didn’t have were screaming at him to worship the light or suffer.
And suffer he did. Unending waves of agony that he knew would end if only he bowed down and worshipped the light.
’Ok, fuck that. Now I need to murder these guys.’
On its own, this beam of power was already considered overkill, and the act of adding a level of compulsion to it was extremely aggravating, triggering Rowan’s fury. Killing him was okay, but he could not stand listening to those annoying voices telling him to bow down and worship.
Even his anger he knew was a consequence of the power of the Alcion Formation, and Rowan could have fought against the anger, but he did not, he let it wrap around him like a cloak, and the moment the power holding him to the ground dissipated, he exploded from the ground like a erupting supernova.
His senses instantly showed him the overview of the battle. The entirety of Bahamut’s bodies had been destroyed, leaving large clumps of lightning clouds floating around that were giving out formless roars filled with rage. The Alcion Formation seemed to be particularly devastating to this Primordial Beast as Rowan detected that its mental effect on Bahamut was the most significant reason he was incapacitated.
He logged that weakness in a part of his consciousness.
On the other hand, Primordial Chaos had begun to recover, and it seemed as if this second burst of power from the Celestial Host had not impacted him, but Rowan knew that this was all a lie. Chaos was at the end of his rope, his energy had been burned to nothing, and the body of Caine, filled with the poisonous touch of Primordial Soul, had entered his body.
The Primordial’s eyes were closed as he struggled to stand. On his forehead was a glowing orange rune that was incomplete but slowly getting more defined.
These two, for the moment, were finished. His target was a new enemy.
In the blink of an eye, Rowan was already in space, crossing countless dimensions and broken timelines until he was in the center of this space. He paused briefly before accelerating towards the Celestial Legions.
However, in that brief moment when he went still, six golden eggs, each the size of a star, burst out from his back heading towards Primordial Chaos and Bahamut.
These six eggs began to crack before exploding into six massive golden serpents. Their scales shimmered and turned black, except for the largest among them, Divus, who had a golden crown on her head made from iridescent mist woven from forgotten dreams.
She alone headed towards Primordial Chaos while the other five headed towards Bahamut. If everything went according to plan, there would be a new Origin Ouroboros Serpent whose name would be Bahamut.
Rowan’s size did nothing to reduce his speed, and he changed his shape to suit his needs. Against Bahamut, he needed all the size and mass he could get, but using that strategy against the Celestial Legion was simply asking for a beating.
Ejecting the Primordial Beast from his body, Rowan shrank himself until he was barely larger than a planet. This was the perfect size to take on this army.
His perception could not see through the Legions of the Celestial when the Alcion Formation obscured his sight, and Rowan, using the rage that had been stoked by their attacks, pressed his perception into the Formation.
With the Alcion Formation taking the shape of a massive heavenly blade, the countless Angels within were hidden from sight. Their entire strength was utilized and amplified without waste.
A dark, stormy cloud made from purple lightning and the fury of an Eclipsed Creator pressed upon the Formation, and its top layer was wiped away, but his perception could not dig deeper before it was wiped away by an opposing force.
Nonetheless, Rowan had scraped away the obscuring shields over the formation, and he could finally see the true face of his enemy. He could see countless rows of Angels arranged in different ranks to play to their strength.
Powers were obviously the Shock Troops to break the will of the enemy, Cherubims as Guardians, and Seraphims leading entire Legions. Archangels were the foot soldiers, and their numbers were almost endless. All of these powers by every Angel here being channeled in a single burst would have been phenomenal, but in the two bursts of fire from the Alcion Formation, the Legion here had contributed the bulk of the firepower, but the true killing power in this formation came from two distinct sources.
The first was from a group of seven Celestial Creators. If there were any group that Rowan felt he had a close connection with, then it would be the Celestial Creators due to the fact that many of the powers in his tool kit came from being linked to a Creator, and its influence extended to his Class.
It was surprising that this was the first time he had encountered them for a group with which he was connected. However, he knew that for so long, he had been hidden from the top-tier powers in Reality, and soon, he would be known to all.
Upon seeing them, their names brushed through his perception: Thaleriel, Durakiel, Valandreil, Zukiel, Teophiel, Ravandiel, and Aurelia. There were various Titles that followed their names, which signified their power.
The Golden Song, Weeping Star, Shadow of Mercy….
All of these titles were powerful, but were beneath his consideration, and if not for his conscientious nature, he would never even consider the thought of going through the titles of these Creators, but Rowan did not look down on them.
If there were any Old Ones who might be able to match him, even if it was only for a bit, then it would be the Celestial Creators.
The second and last portion of heavenly formation was a Singular existence, the Archon.
Rowan Destroyer vibrated in his hands, sensing the connection it had with the Archon. Both Destroyers, but his blade was the last of its kind, used in a war that was much harsher than anything this Archon had ever seen, and for the first time since Rowan made his Destroyer, his blade… laughed.
Its voice was deep and mocking, and its ire was directed towards its successor. Between the time he had erupted from the ground before reaching the formation, barely a moment had passed, but another loud hum was growing from the formation as another burst of power erupted from the Legions, and its target was Rowan alone.
Setting his blade forward like a fencer, he attacked.
