The Primordial Record

Chapter 1291: Break Your Ego (Final)

The next words from Gothran'Inul confirmed these thoughts passing through Rowan's mind, and he knew that he had placed a slight chink in the armor of this creature,

"You are young, but that should not excuse your ignorance," the titan said, "I once had Primordial Essence flowing in my veins so I understand the ramifications behind this power, you cannot tempt me with your words when my memory carries more weight. You should hurry and complete your Ascension... Rowan, I still have a pact to settle with the Eye of Time. Your Fate has already been sealed, you shall die here, and no matter how many waves you throw up by your actions, that Fate will never change, and there is no need to dig your grave faster by stoking my fury."

"If that is the case then observe, perhaps your assessment of the powers of Singularities would change."

The six books were now so bright that even the eyes of a lower-order immortal would turn to ash before that light suddenly vanished, taking the books with them.

Outside in reality the heads of the six sirens swallowing the blue fog suddenly shrunk as if they had been mummified, their laughter ceased and a palpable aura of death radiated from their shrunken skulls.

Below for the first time since the Supreme Era was created, the Great Darkness was open.

Within Doom Star, the vanishing book caught both The Eye of Time and Gothran'Inul by surprise. They had both felt the power of Primordial Essence building inside those books, and there was not just one droplet of Primordial Essence, from the Aura they were sensing if combined then there was a possibility for there to be three droplets, maybe even four!

To push Gothran'Inul to the height of his powers, he would only need a single droplet of Primordial Essence, and although he feigned before Rowan as if he did not desire this power, that was simply a facade, only his staunch mind had kept him sane and stopped him from tearing Rowan to pieces in an instant and seizing the Primordial Essence for himself, only the knowledge that this process was being achieved by a Singularity that he had no control over stopped him from taking any actions.

If impatience was the cause for his losing this Essence, then all the time that Gothran Inul would have lived would be considered a waste. Everything he had been telling Rowan was simply manipulated truths to further his agenda, before the greatest power in reality, how could he not crave it?

With a single droplet of Primordial Essence, he could simply create an endless circulation of power inside his body, ridding him of the weakness of ever searching for a dimension outside the Primordials that could carry the weight of his existence and still allow him the chance for growth.

With two droplets of Primordial Essence, he could begin crafting his path to a Supreme Road, with three?! Oh, the things that he could achieve with three. Manifesting his dimension in reality would no longer become a mad dream. He could create his Eternal realm!

His body appeared loose and he seemed carefree on the surface, but beneath, his entire power was poised on the brink, the moment. Rowan completed his gathering of the Primordial Essence, he would rip this ludicrous mortal to pieces and take everything for himself. He would flee this realm and venture into the Nothingness where even the gaze of Primordials could not fully penetrate, and there he would rise. Why remain under the domains of the Primordials when he had the power to create his domain?

The light of greed and madness behind the eyes of Gothran'Inul was threatening to burn out of his skull, when the light of his fascination vanished, taking his prize with it.

If the titan was in this state of maddened greed, then the Eye of Time was even in a worse one.

The only reason the Eye of Time had to struggle through all these eternities, making deals and imposing its will through the hands of lesser beings was simply because it was empty. It lacked the fuel to display its Primordial Might, and so it had to make do with inefficiently wielding the memories of his powers.

The entire basis of Reflection was born out of enlightenment gained when it began to use the shadow of its once invincible might to exist.

All the battles it had fought, had been done with simply a memory of its powers There were no words in existence to describe the thirst in the heart of the Eye when it detected the build-up of Primordial Essence in front of Rowan. It had shut down the cry of his death from Gothran'Inul so fast that if it had a tongue, it would have bitten it off.

If it had known of the possibility that the World Stele could reclaim Primordial Essence, then it would have made searching for this Singularity its entire life's goal.

How could Rowan, a more mortal, or any of the riffraff, in reality, stand against it in combat when he was basically wielding what amounted to nothing against them?

If the Eye of Time could gain access to a single droplet of Primordial Essence, then except for Primordials, it would be matchless, and there was a great possibility that with this Essence, he could begin to slowly resurrect its main body that had been shattered across all of reality.

This was a far-off goal, but the possibility was there, and it was one that it had never considered until a moment ago. There was an extremely small part of the Eye of Time that felt a bit of regret that it had not used other gentler methods to lure Rowan into its service.

This was the first time in its existence that it was considering such an action, but the price he could have gained was well worth the humiliation.

However, this thought was flung to the side before it fully formed. It did not matter the price it was going to pay to acquire this power, the Eye would call upon everything inside of it to gain this Essence.

And so, from the moment Rowan unveiled the culmination of nearly a billion years of planning by him and the World Stele, the focus of this battle had suddenly changed from one where he was to be slaughtered to the greed before the resource that was being gathered here.

When the light from the six books vanished, Gothran'Inul stumbled back in shock, the weight of expectation suddenly vanishing from his soul nearly made him lightheaded, and the cry of anguish from the Eye of Time was able to shock the titan from his muddle-headedness.

"MY ESSENCE!!! ROWAN WHERE THE FUCK IS MY ESSENCE?!"

The mocking laughter of Rowan nearly drove both parties to madness,

"Oh, I did not know your name was written on it."

This time it was the Gothran'Inul who made his move, one of his hands effortlessly tore through the barrier of telekinesis around Rowan and seized him by the throat,

"Where is the Primordial Essence?!"

All mirth vanished from Rowan's eyes as he regarded the titan with an extremely cold gaze that could freeze the soul,

"So, this is your true face, then why waste my time sniveling like a coward? Tell you what, I will answer your question if you grovel on your knees like a dog."
