Chapter 236: Second Uncle
‘How did it come to this?’ Zhao Wuyang stood there, incredibly confused.
He was indeed careless and had forgotten about the CCTVs in the residential area. He had pulled off the same trick without any problems before.
He expected the kid to be bluffing but did not expect that he managed to obtain the footage and uploaded it to the Internet.
Things were a lot trickier when the footage got onto the Internet.
“Release him at this instant!” The deputy superintendent roared.
“Yes, yes!” The police officers immediately agreed. They urgently went over and unlocked Tang Hao’s handcuffs.
“Sigh! I’m so sorry about this!” The deputy superintendent laughed heartily and came over. “Our young friend, that Captain Zhao is indeed a hot-tempered person and he tends to run his mouth. I hope that you don’t mind him.
“Alright, everything is settled now. You can leave.”
The deputy superintendent was quite friendly. In fact, a little too friendly.
Zhao Wuyang was shocked when he saw that.
‘Is there a need for the deputy superintendent to be so courteous? Don’t tell me... the kid has a powerful figure backing him?’
Even Tang Hao was a little taken aback by how friendly the deputy superintendent was.
‘Even if one of his subordinates made a mistake... is there a need for the deputy superintendent of the Provincial City police station to be so friendly toward me?’
All he did was to ask Han Yutong to obtain the CCTV footage and upload it on the Internet.
“Come here, my young friend, let me send you off!”
The deputy superintendent smiled hospitably and gently bowed, showing him the way out.
Zhao Wuyang and the other police officers were dumbfounded when they saw that.
They had not seen the deputy superintendent being so friendly toward a suspect. Furthermore, the suspect was only a student.
Tang Hao found it rather unsettling.
“Well, I suppose this settles it!” He said and walked out of the interrogation room.
The deputy superintendent watched Tang Hao leave, then breathed a sigh of relief, as though a heavy burden had been removed from his shoulders.
“Phew! He’s gone!” He mumbled.
Zhao Wuyang was dumbstruck again.
He could not believe his own eyes and ears.
Looking at the deputy superintendent’s expression, he seemed to be respectful and even fearful of the kid.
How was that possible?
The deputy superintendent of Provincial City Police Station was one of the top-ranking police officers in Province Z. Why would he be wary of a teenager?
What was the true identity of that kid?
Zhao Wuyang became more and more doubtful than ever.
That kid had amazing martial arts abilities and owned a weird flying car. He felt that the kid was incredibly mysterious.
“Deputy Superintendent, that kid is...” Zhao Wuyang could not curb his curiosity anymore.
The deputy superintendent turned to look at him coldly. “You can’t afford to cross that person! Did you try to arrest him without any evidence? Are you tired of living?”
Zhao Wuyang was speechless as panic grew in his heart.
The deputy superintendent’s tone of voice made it sound as though that kid was a very important person.
Soon after, the deputy superintendent calmed down a little. “You remember the incident with Long Jiang Group not too long ago, right?”
Zhao Wuyang’s body trembled when he heard that.
Of course, he remembered that incident. It had sent shockwaves throughout the entire Provincial City police force. Even the Provincial Headquarters was involved in it.
The incident originated with a phone call.
When the police station received the phone call and went to the Xu family mansion, they were shocked by what they saw.
The elite bodyguard force of the Xu family was defeated and sprawled on the ground, while Xu Jianghai, the president of Long Jiang Group, clung to the police while confessing to every evil deed like a lunatic.
The evil deeds rendered the police officers speechless.
News of the incident was reported to the City Headquarters, then relayed to the Provincial Headquarters. From there, it went on to shake the entire police force.
The most amazing thing about the entire shocker was that the identity of the most important person was unknown. That was, the person who had made the call in the first place.
The police force should have been capable of tracing that person’s identity. Furthermore, there had been so many witnesses. However, the identity of that person remained a mystery, as though someone powerful suppressed that information.
Zhao Wuyang trembled more violently than ever. His face displayed an expression of utter incredulity.
He looked at the deputy superintendent with round, wide eyes, and said with some difficulty, “Don’t tell me... that’s the person?”
The deputy superintendent nodded grimly.
“That’s right. It’s him. I got the information from the Provincial Headquarters. Not many people know about this. To be frank, it’s one of the leaders in the province who had requested his identity to be kept secret.
“Now, you finally understand why you can’t cross that person! You can’t afford to do so unless you have concrete evidence!
“Remember, don’t tell anyone else about this. I’m telling you this so that you don’t act rashly next time.”
Then, the deputy superintendent turned around and left, leaving two figures standing still as stone in the interrogation room.
Meanwhile, Tang Hao left the building and gave Han Yutong a call, informing her that everything was settled.
He looked at his missed call notifications and found that Liu Bingyao and Teacher Jiang had called him.
Evidently, they were also visited by the police.
He returned their calls one by one.
Then, he walked out of the front gate of the police station.
He had just started walking when he remembered that his car should have been towed back to the police station.
He looked around and asked a police officer where he should claim his car.
He noticed two figures walking out of another building. They were a middle-aged couple who seemed to be in their mid-fifties.
Tang Hao glanced at them and was stunned.
He knew who those two people were.
The male was Shi Xuebin, his second maternal uncle. In other words, the second elder brother of his mother.
That female was none other than Tang Hao’s aunt.
He had not seen the couple for several years, though their appearance did not change much and Tang Hao recognized them at first glance.
Then, he became slightly uneasy.
He was not quite fond of his second uncle and second aunt. In fact, the two were not very popular in Dragonrock Village.
They had left Dragonrock Village many years ago to find their fortune in Provincial City. When their business succeeded and they became rich, their attitudes changed. They looked down upon Dragonrock Village and the villagers.
They have not returned to Dragonrock Village for a long time, even to visit their parents.
That was ingratitude!
That was why Tang Hao did not like those two people.
In his eyes, his second uncle and second aunt were materialistic and shallow. They sucked up to rich people and looked down upon the poor. After they earned their fortune, they forgot their roots.
It was as though city folk were somehow superior to village folk.
He furrowed his brows and prepared to leave.
At that moment, the two people happened to turn over and notice Tang Hao.
Shi Xuebin was surprised. He thought that the boy in front of him looked familiar, but could not recall the name.
