Chapter 3212: Heading For The True World
Later that night, Rui slept in the Quarrier Orphanage for the first time in a long time, for what would be the last time in a long time. His constant travel made this a very familiar feeling, one that he had experienced his entire life.
It grew easier after his mother passed away, of course.
It made his bond with the Quarrier Orphanage a little weaker.
As time passed and more and more people he had grown up with had passed away, his bond with his old home grew a little less strong.
Of course, he still returned every time.
He glanced at his side, at a dozing Amare.
Her arms and legs spread across the bed messily as she softly snored.
Rui chuckled.
Some things never changed.
He closed his eyes, heaving a deep breath as he too fell asleep.
The very next morning, the air was electric.
It was charged with anticipation.
The two of them made the final preparations they had to make for their departure from the Panama Continent and their journey to the West Genora. The Martial Union sent the items and the preparations that he had requested, packed into a single compact backpack.
It was too heavy for an ordinary human, but it was nothing for him.
Amare lived up to her word, simply carrying a small bag with the essentials that she deemed necessary.
Rui, on the other hand, had come prepared for almost anything.
He even took a healing fruit with him, just in case.
After all, that fruit was the only reason that he had survived his encounter with Sage Asmodeous.
It was almost superstitious, but he figured it likely couldn’t hurt to bring it along with him.
Along with material preparations, Rui needed to take the time to make more personalized farewells to the people he knew and cared about. He visited friends of old, as well as Kane and a pregnant Fae as Kane had requested, seeing them one time and apologizing for his absence during the birth of the baby.
He also took the opportunity to speak one last time to his grandmother after their slightly heated conversation at the Martial Union. He reaffirmed his commitment to find and kill Tokugawa Ieyasu for his crimes against the Silas Clan.
He also took the effort to revisit the Water Sect one last time, giving Master Minn a heads-up on his departure from the Kandrian Empire and the continent. She swore her fealty to the Water Sect and her commitment to see it grow in his absence.
He also took the time to personally announce his absolute protection of the blood children across the Panama Continent.
It was an announcement that sent waves across Panama as his message was heard loud and clear.
The blood children were not to be touched, not unless one wanted to become his enemy.
It certainly made rulers like Queen Linalia of the Solaris Kingdom break into a cold sweat because of the history of violence that the Solaris Kingdom had for blood children.
His greatest regret was that he didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to Julian, who had gone into deep, isolated research and development ever since he had decided on what his great offering to the world was going to be.
His project of trying to integrate true world technology with the esoteric technology of the Panama Continent to create a hybrid technology that was greater than the sum of the whole was a truly ambitious project.
Even for a prodigal genius like Julian, it would take a long, long time of pure dedication to this project to have any hope of success.
On top of that, their bond was more than strong enough to constantly require affirming. Julian was likely extremely engrossed as he commenced his journey, completely detached from the real-world happenings.
It was only after he visited everybody he ought to have from the Quarrier Orphanage and in the Kandrian Empire that he was finally ready to depart on his journey.
“Good luck and farewell, my son.”
Emperor Rael’s rich voice hung in the heavy air.
The bright light of the morning Sun illuminated the entirety of the world around them at the border of the Kandrian Empire.
The atmosphere was tingling with anticipation.
Emperor Rael stood at the southern gate of the Kandrian Empire with several Martial Sages behind him as he gazed deeply at Rui with intense eyes.
“I have faith that you will succeed.”
His tone conveyed the trust that the Emperor of Harmony had in him.
He truly believed that Rui would succeed in the missions and the responsibilities he had undertaken.
“I won’t let you down,” Rui promised. “I will forge friendship in my voyage through the true world.”
Rui looked particularly sharp as he took the effort to groom himself with a more fancy and ostentatious Martial attire with the crest of not just the Water Sect, but also the Kandrian Empire. He carried him with a larger backpack containing everything that he would need.
Beside him was Amare, who brimmed with excitement and anticipation as her amber eyes glistened with delight. She looked eager to jump into exploring the true world right away.
Emperor Rael smiled.
“I look forward to that. Are you sure you don’t want go by carriage? We can have much better means of transport for someone of your importance to the Kandrian Empire and to human civilization.”
Rui shook his head. “I don’t need that kind of extravagance. We are Martial Sages, we can travel by ourselves.”
“Very well then.”
Emperor Rael nodded.
“Goodbye.”
Rui and Amare took off for South Panama after they bade goodbye to the Emperor of Harmony as they took to the air.
“This feeling is the best!” Amare exclaimed as she cheerily skipped through the air. “I can’t wait to see what kind of wonders the true world has to offer to us!”
Rui’s smile was just as eager. “Neither can I.”
Forty days had passed since the Unfolding had unveiled the true world.
And now, Rui headed off to finally explore the mysteries of the six continents.
