Chapter 3210: Tale Of The Past

He spoke some more about a variety of important topics with his father and siblings, finalizing several more matters before eventually departing from the Royal Palace after bidding the royal family goodbye.

He headed back to the Quarrier Orphanage as he drifted through the dark skies of night.

He had spent the entire day running around the entire continent and even beyond it, contacting the Elder Tree, Jormungandr, and other people he needed to speak to one last time before departing.

STEP

He stepped into the cozy home, finding Amare in the living room, sitting on the couch with Arastia sleeping soundly on her lap. fr\eewe.bn(o)v\el.c(o)m

Rui gazed at the little girl dozing off with a gentle expression while Amare gestured with a finger to her lip.

“It seems she has tired herself out,” Rui remarked, manipulating heaven to ensure that the sound didn’t reach Arastia. “She is a very energetic child.”

Amare smiled affectionately at the little girl.

“She truly is. You never told me you had such an adorable niece.”

“I mean, I didn’t even know about her until I woke up,” Rui shrugged. “Hell, she didn’t even exist before you were reborn.”

“Ah,” Amare murmured. “I suppose that’s true. My timelines are messed up. It is not easy to reconcile the time I spent in my mind with the time that has passed in the real world.”

“…I imagine the real world feels surreal after everything you have gone through to get back,” Rui remarked.

“It does,” Amare admitted. “I dreamed of returning to the real world for thousands of years.”

Rui winced at those words. “That sounds nightmarish.”

“…It wasn’t easy,” Amare remarked. “Still…”

She gazed at him with a small, genuine smile.

“I’m happy I made it back.”

Rui simply gazed at her silently.

The mood in the air grew thoughtful as the two of them simply relaxed in silence.

Rui glanced at his commpad knowingly.

“The preparations I ordered to be done are basically done,” Rui remarked. “All the potions we might need. Food pills. First aid. A bunch of other stuff.”

Amare raised an eyebrow. “How much are you packing? Last time, you had very little with you.”

“Yeah, well, last time, I was just traveling the Panama Continent,” Rui replied. “This time, we’re traveling beyond it into totally unknown territory. I need to be more prepared for any eventuality. What about you?”

“Clothes. Pads. Basic necessities?” She scratched her head.

“You’re still as easygoing as ever,” Rui huffed. f.re(e) w.e(b)nov el.c.om

“I will have you know that I traveled with less when I traveled the Panama Continent.” She folded her arms. “I am more experienced in traveling the world than you are, you know? Back then, the Panama Continent wasn’t explored.”

Rui smiled bittersweetly. fre/ew.ebnovel.c om

He still wasn’t used to her talking about herself as the Progenitor.

“Tell me about those days,” Rui said with a curious tone. “I was always curious how one woman could travel on foot across such a massive continent and spread Martial Art to all corners of human civilization. It sounds far too hard to believe, if you ask me.”

“Well, it wasn’t just me and it wasn’t just one lifetime,” she replied as she recalled memories of old. “I had undergone a lot of different soul transference rituals. So I actually only had to cover a portion of the continent in a single lifetime. Not to mention, I had the Beggar’s Sect help me pass on my teachings, although it wasn’t as capable back then as it is today. I also had my disciples who successfully broke through to the Apprentice Realm, also spread Martial Art to whatever extent they could, even though I spread the bulk of it.”

Rui stirred at the recounting of that process.

“Even still,” Rui shook his head. “The Panama Continent is huge. It’s unfathomable that you succeeded in spreading Martial Art so far in such little time. Like when you consider how long it takes to actually master even the foundations, it is truly astonishing that you succeeded as well as you did.”

She smiled. “When you teach people through the heart, they can learn quickly. Everything is Martial Art, and thus, teaching people how to harness Martial Art has always been easy for me.”

“…That actually came in conversation when I was discussing with the Martial Sages about the future of the Martial Path with the blood children.” Rui proceeded to explain the conversation he had with the Martial Sages.

Amare’s eyes widened with horror. “You’re telling me that they intended to genocide the blood children just to preserve the Martial Path?!”

Rui nodded, heaving a sigh. “Rest assured, I have ensured that it won’t happen.”

“That’s so horrible!” Amare exclaimed with disgust. “You should have beaten them up then and there!”

Rui huffed. “Relax. Point being, I have promised I will integrate the Blood Path into the Martial Path to create a superior Blood Martial Path. And the way I’m planning to do that is to try and steer them towards Martiality by affecting them through their environment, upbringing, and experience.”

He directed a pointed gaze towards her.

“This is where you come in,” he remarked. “You spread Martial Art in an era where there was none. I’m wondering if you can reinforce it enough to ensure that all future Paths that emerge in people are largely Martial, with blood simply enhancing and evolving the path. If you can do that, all our problems will be solved. We will be able to preserve our foundation and all the effort that has gone into developing the Martial Path while still benefiting from the boons of the Blood Goddess’ fertility.”

Amare fell into thought.

“…It would require a lot of reinforcing,” she remarked knowingly. “However, I am a Martial Sage now. A strong one at that. I can do far more than I ever did in the past. I just don’t know if it will be enough to preserve the Martial Path. I don’t have a strong sense of whether that is something that I can accomplish.”
