The Martial Unity

Chapter 3146: The Integrator

Chapter 3146: The Integrator

“One of the reasons that I have not been able to make great contributions is because I am, in many ways, the jack of all trades,” Julian explained to Rui even as he was engrossed in his thoughts. “I haven’t been to pioneer the cutting edge of our understanding because I have not dedicated all my time to one field. Largely because I never felt great affinity with one field, whether it was Martial Science, potions, or esoteric material science or even the most recent MECHA engineering.”

He gazed at Rui with a pointed expression. “I have achieved the highest level of knowledge and skill in these fields in the past ninety years, and that was it. It makes me extremely versatile and extremely useful, but I still have not made the kind of defining contribution to human civilization that I have wanted to my entire life.”

Rui listened patiently as Julian explained his dilemma.

“Part of it is because I have had diverse interest,” Julian remarked. “Even as a child in the house, I have enjoyed learning about anything I could without getting too obsessed or immersed in any one thing. And the same was true even in university and later higher education. Not even spending time with the Divine Doctor was enough to make me consider dedicating everything to medicine and biology. However…”

He stirred. “…while being a jack of all trades can be useful for an innovator, I still consider myself to be a researcher and a scientist. Someone who is in pursuit. It leaves me somewhat stuck, unable to contribute while also sticking to my own inclinations. I had almost given up recently until…”

His gaze shifted to Rui.

“Until the true world unfolded.”

Rui’s eyes lit up with a hint of interest.

The public had slowly come to learn of the truth of the true world in the past one month after alien variants of human beings began colonizing and raiding the continent. Although the true explanation of what had happened and why was still not revealed, it had now become common knowledge that there was a world out there.

The uproar it had caused had been unimportant only of the actual invasion that the Panama Continent had been fighting off in the past one month. Regardless, it was hardly surprising that Julian, who work on the captured tekvorian aircraft, knew everything.

“The unfolding of the true world showed us that even conventional matter has infinite potential in its application,” Julian explained. “It showed us that regular iron and steel could be used to create technology that vastly eludes our greatest fathoming. It showed us that we have been far dazzled by esoteric matter and technology as a species and have disregarded what ordinary matter is capable of.”

Rui knew this, of course.

There were certain elements were Earth vastly surpassed Gaia in, such as information and communication technology, despite not possessing a single ounce of exotic matter. It had made greater progress even in space and space travel.

“That’s not to say we should abandon esoteric matter and rush to focus on non-esoteric technology,” Julian remarked. “The ideal scenario would be to merge esoteric and non-esoteric technology seamlessly into a vastly superior hybrid technology. To do this…”

He gazed at Rui with a serious expression.

“One would need to have mastered both fields.”

Rui’s expression lit up as he understood what Julian was going for.

“I am one of the very few people in the entirety of the Panama Continent who had reached the peak of virtually everything that this continent has to offer,” Julian remarked. “And while the Esoterist vastly surpasses me in esoteric technology by a great degree, he is not interested in learning convention technology. He believes in esoteric supremacy and will stick to it on principle and as a matter identity and ego. Which means…”

His voice grew more determined.

“Someone needs to step in and actively learn the technologies of the true world in a relatively short amount of time and fuse it with Panamic technology for us to reach the ideal hybrid technological scenario and…”

His gaze narrowed. “…I dare say that I’m the only one in a position to do that. The Immortal Sages are hyper specialists and have no intention of spreading themselves thin to take on this herculean task. I am perhaps the only person who has resolved to take this initiative and this…”

A small smile emerged on his face.

“This will be my great contribution to human civilization, one that I have yearned to make my entire life.”

Rui’s expression was amazed. “You do realize how absurdly difficult that will be, right? There are countless technological paradigms, fields, and sub-fields on both sides, integrating all of those into hybrid technologies will be an astronomically challenging task.”

Julian nodded with a determined expression.

“I know. I know how difficult it is. It will take me years and decades but if I succeed, human civilization thrive.”

There was no doubt about that.

Esoteric matter had limitless potential while true world technology had evolved for one hundred millennia, with much greater time than the true world. Combining the two of them could finally allow technology to surpass Martial Art.

It was a highly desirable result for Rui, who sought challenge.

“You have my full support,” Rui nodded with an eagerness. “I can authorize you to have a full security clearance for all intelligence gained from the true world by the True World Intelligence Organization as well as any deals for technology that the Kandrian Empire gets. I can also persuade all the Sage-level nations to share their gains with you as well.”

Julian was taken aback by those words, before smiling wryly. “Sometimes I forget that you are one of the most powerful men on this continent. To me you are and always have been my precious younger brother.”

“Hey, I got your back,” Rui flicked him a thumbs up. “Go all out and show the world what you can offer it.”

Julian smiled with confidence.

“I intend to do just that.”
