Chapter 3126: The Way of the Magician
The sheer impact of Anthea’s power ravaged his guard, leaving a dark bruise across his arms. Rui could scarcely believe that Anthea could adaptively evolve to Temporal Disharmony this quickly and catch him off-guard despite his foresight.
And yet, Anthea was just getting started.
BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!!!!!
The great intensity of the ensuing attacks was extraordinarily intense, even as he struggled to evade them. Despite dodging before the attack even ensued, he found the impacts converging upon him nonetheless.
STEP
He shifted in anticipation of an attack, moving out of the way of the trajectory just a nanosecond before the attack commenced.
And yet, it struck him nonetheless.
Almost as if the attack was drawn to him autonomously.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!
“Rgh…!” Rui grimaced as he barely managed to disperse the sheer impact, immediately ducking to evade a powerful sweeping kick he foresaw.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
His guards barely flew up in time as the attack magically shifted towards him midair, without any intervention from the evolutionary. A flurry of attacks emerged from the evolutionary, blasting Rui in rapid succession despite his best attempts to evade them.
The air was charged.
Literally, it was electrically charged.
WHOOSH
Rui surged to his side, predicting a powerful straight blow to his chest.
CRACKLE CRACKLE CRACKLE…!
His eyes widened as sparks of an electrical current burst between them.
As though there was an electric field.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
A devastating attack blow found its mark on Rui’s guard, blasting him away, even as his eyes lit up with understanding as to what Anthea was doing.
“You’re using an electromagnetic pull to ensure your attacks land.”
Anthea surged forth with intense eyes.
“It doesn’t matter how great your foresight is if the future is inevitable.”
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!
A myriad of powerful blows of great speed and momentum converged on Rui with unerring accuracy despite his attempts to evade them, leaving him forced to rely on Anti-Spiral and Body of Water to disperse the impacts as well as he could.
CRACKLE CRACKLE CRACKLE…!
The air grew increasingly charged between them as Anthea continued heightening the electromagnetic force between them, allowing him to nail Rui with each strike despite Rui’s formidable foresight. With each attack, he relied on an exaggerated and enhanced version of simple static electrical charging methods, each time his fist made contact with Rui’s guard.
By doing so with a special superconductor substance, he was able to build up a tremendous electrical potential between himself and Rui.
BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!!!!!
A tremendous tsunami of attacks converged on Rui with a powerful surge of destruction, ravaging his guard with great force. The sheer amount of power that Anthea was able to output was truly immense, especially so given that he couldn’t tap into the power of materia prima through Martial efficiency like Martial Sages could.
Instead, the evolutionaries copied technology, and especially biotechnology, from other civilizations and figured out a way to integrate it into their biology. In particular, they had copied biotechnological cold fusion from the elves and the therianthropes, which turned the mitochondria of each cell into a nano-nuclear fusion reactor.
The power level of an evolutionary thus depended on what proportion of the cells in their body they had converted into a nuclear fusion reactor. What was especially incredible was that when the nuclear fusion had proceeded long enough and the elements they created were too heavy to be stable, they could, in turn, create unstable radioactive elements into fuel for a nuclear fission reactor.
Not just that, Rui suspected that this was how they created invintium.
In the depths of their own cells, they pushed nuclear fusion to the very limit until their cells created nuclei with one hundred and twenty-six protons in the nucleus. Thus, another measure of how strong an evolutionary trait was likely how much invintium they had in their bodies.
And in that regard, Anthea had had enough to replace all his exterior flesh with it.
It was a truly impressive display of power.
BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!!!!!
Even as Anthea bombarded him with a storm of tremendous attacks powered by trillions of nuclear fusion reactors, Rui couldn’t help but smile.
A smile of pure ecstasy and bliss.
A smile of excitement and anticipation.
Like a child who had been gifted his favorite toy.
A single remark escaped him.
“You have my gratitude.”
It was the sheer sincerity of his words that sent chills down Anthea’s spine.
BANG!
Anthea staggered with a stunned expression as Rui’s fist slammed into his face.
It came out of nowhere.
BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!
A flurry of short, swift blows found their mark on his body before he could even react, having already retreated by the time he responded.
BOOOOOM!!!
A heavier blow crumpled into his body out of nowhere, defying his awareness.
And yet, try as he might, he was unable to draw his attention away.
He was unable to draw his attention away from the blood-red glow.
BOOOOOM!!!
A heavy kick to Anthea’s ankles destabilized his balance.
BANG!
Rui’s jab rocked his jaw before he even realized it.
POW POW POW!!!
A series of swift and furious blows blasted his solar plexus, leaving him unable to breathe for a moment.
BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM!!!
What followed was a beatdown of great proportions.
Each blow Rui blasted him seemed to strike him before he even realized it.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
A flash of pain emerged on his face as Rui’s knuckles crashed into his sternum, cracking the bone with the sheer pressure that Rui put into the attack.
“You…” Anthea’s ethereal eyes remained fixed in the blood-red glow of Megamind in Rui’s eyes. “What have you done to me?”
A small smile emerged on Rui’s face.
“Awareness is a funny thing, isn’t it?”
The blood-red glow in his eyes drew every ounce of Anthea’s attention.
Every ounce of his focus.
So much so that there wasn’t enough attention to focus on the incoming attacks.
It was a technique that Rui had spontaneously created with the evolved version of the Forge of Creation.
Rui wound his fist back tremendously even as his eyes remained fixed on Anthea’s, before launching an incredibly powerful blow.
“I call this the Way of the Magician.”
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
