The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1538 - 1538: Back to the Crime Scene

April wasn’t surprised by what Rex said.

She already expected this.

All of the things that happened inside the tower were a fantasy, and this is reality.

In reality, Rex has a lot of responsibilities, and she understands that.

But she couldn’t contain her chuckle from slipping out, pausing Rex mid-track.

Rex glanced over his shoulder and looked at April in confusion, he wasn’t expecting her to chuckle.

“Pardon me,” April covered her mouth, trying to contain herself from the unexpected chuckle. “But that is not what I have in mind. I don’t want to tag along with you, that’s only giving you more burden, and I don’t want that.”

“Then what do you want to say?” Rex asked, questioning her with his body facing sideways.

April smiled, a meaningful one.

“I wanted to tell you not to try to contact me or find me,” She finally said, clasping both her hands in front of her stomach elegantly, a resting posture of a noblewoman. “I’ll be the one to contact you when I’m ready.”

Upon hearing this, Rex paused for a second before nodding.

He understood what April was trying to say, and frankly, he wouldn’t mind her contacting him.

But only if she really was ready.

“I’ll hold onto that,” Rex said before he turned around, heading back into the ruins.

Soon, Rex made a trip once again, along with Viora and the remaining soldiers who survived.

Leaving the Mahkam Ruin was quite hard to do.

Most of the people wanted him to stay longer, but he refused.

He couldn’t stay longer, and the people finally let him go after a brief persuasion.

Out of all the Voidal Knights that he turned into his pack members, only four survived the horrendous battle, and Rex didn’t keep all of them. Even though their existence gave him a flat 5% bonus stats, he couldn’t keep them around.

It was mainly because their minds were noisy, animal-like, and it disturbed him too much.

Since the connection was still fresh, he couldn’t suppress their emotions, so he decided to let go of three.

Fortunately, there was an abandonment feature in the System.

Of course, his blood couldn’t be extracted from them, so the three Voidal Knights would still have the blood of a Werewolf, but that should be fine. All of them became lone Werewolves, separated from the Silverstar Pack.

One is the only Voida Knight he kept.

Rex thought it was going to be helpful to have a sentry in the sky, so he kept One as a pack member.

Other than that reason, One also seemed to be the most stable.

He bore no ill-feeling towards Rex, and that was enough to warrant Rex from keeping him.

“Where are we going, exactly?” Viora asked.

All Rex said was to assemble the soldiers and the carriages for departure; he didn’t say where to.

“Arbitgea,” Rex replied, looking out of the window. “I have something to do.”

Reaching Arbitgea took a little less than a day.

Rex and the others went back to the Aurelius Fortress, quicker now that they didn’t make any stops, and carried lighter weights with all the soldiers who died in the tower. Once they reached the fortress, Viora prepared the teleportation chamber to teleport them to Arbitgea.

Since Arbitgea is a hub bubble, it could accept teleportation like this.

Of course, Viora’s name helped have them be verified for teleporting there.

Like the teleportation formation back home, there was also a version of that here.

Considering that the Black Rift covered the whole entire world, Rex wasn’t surprised—that the Spirits had this kind of magical array too. Breakthroughs usually happened because the situation demanded it, so this wasn’t surprising.

Other than Rex, Amanir, Kraken, and Viora—the others were told to rest in the fortress.

Once the four reached Arbitgea, Rex immediately stepped out from the Nexus Hub with a purpose.

“Amanir, show her to our lodging. I’m going to go around for a bit,” Rex instructed.

Upon hearing this, Amanir frowned—he wasn’t aware of any lodging for them here except for the inn they were staying at temporarily back then. But he immediately got the cue. Rex wanted Viora to be here, yet he didn’t want her to follow him around.

Not that it would be fatal, but he wanted to play it safer.

“Come, Priestess Viora,” Amanir gestured to the side. “I’ll show you a place.”

Viora was skeptical, but she complied.

“Oh,” Rex took Kraken off Amanir’s back. “I’ll be taking him.”

Once Viora and Amanir disappeared around the corner, Rex immediately went to one of the many Life Veins connected to Arbitgea and traced over it while carrying Kraken. At the end of the vein, Rex turned to Kraken, “Can you help me with the Black Rift? Get inside me like before?”

Kraken tilted his head in confusion, but soon, he realized what Rex meant.

Seems like the rune Rex gave him worked wonders—he was way smarter than he normally would.

But that has its downside too.

Rex could tell that Kraken understood, but Kraken tilted his face away still, unwilling to help.

Having no other choice, Rex slowly morphed into his Werewolf form—becoming a lot bigger and also monstrous than his human form. As soon as he did that, Kraken clapped his tentacle arms excitedly and finally got inside him.

<Notice: the user has been influenced by the One with the Rift innate ability!>

<All stats had been increased moderately!>

Like before, having Kraken residing inside him gave him the One with the Rift innate ability.

It was akin to a passive skill that helped him recover his life energy, even while he was within the Black Rift, and also helped him ward off the Black Rift’s influence. Kraken has shown that he was capable of giving aid whenever the Voidal Metamorphosis started.

Now that Linthia was not around anymore, Rex needed to have Kraken by his side.

Being in his Werewolf form is quite dangerous.

Rex didn’t want anyone nearby to recognize him as the one who destroyed the Arcalen House, though it was unlikely, it could still happen. But if he argued with a literal baby, that’ll only make him the stupid one, so he’ll only have to deal with it.

I’ll change form later when I notice someone.

Once he was ready, he stepped out and quickly sprinted away.

His direction was clear—The Arcalen House.

Rosa made him realize that the most valuable thing in a negotiation was an Echo.

It was akin to elemental stones in the Mortal Realm—everyone wants them.

So, in preparation for his inevitable encounter with the Spirit Emperor, he has to have one at bay.

Fortunately, the Sunken King Echo—should still be in the Crypt of the Sea, and Rex wanted to get his hands on it. Of course, he remembered that he needed all three of the Nine-kindred Echoes. Going there right now would be futile, as the barrier seemed impenetrable.

However, the reason he came here wasn’t to go to the crypt.

He wanted the sweep the Arcalen House’s remains, to see if there was anything that could help him.

Since these Echoes seemed to be a part of their history, the house must know something.

Perhaps, they knew the locations for the other Nine-kindred Echoes.

It would be very helpful if they did.

Rex didn’t know exactly—where the Arcalen House’s bubble was, but a map he had passed earlier, stapled on the bulletin, showed him the way. Since he was kidnapped from Arbitgea back then and brought to the Dragna Sea, the place wasn’t that far.

He could reach that place in half an hour if he sprinted.

As he made his way, his eyes caught sight of a shadowy figure covered by the Black Rift’s darkness.

Naturally, Rex was on guard, but when he scanned the figure with the System, he realized that it was a familiar figure. It was Giga Skull Crusher, still roaming about the area, and approached when it caught Rex’s scent.

“Holding a grudge over that?” Rex shook his head. “Such pettiness is astonishing.”

Roar!!

Realizing that it was really Rex, the Giga Skull Crusher roared and charged like a wild animal.

Its steps shook the ground, and its massive hands dented anything they pressed on.

Despite the charging bulk abomination, Rex didn’t seem to be worried.

He kept sprinting forward, focused on reaching the Dragna Sea.

Crack!

As soon as the Giga Skull Crusher was near enough, it slammed its massive hands against the ground—and leaped skyward. Clutching his fists tightly, it swung down hard, aiming to crush Rex under its heavy weight and power.

Instead of what it expected, Rex caught the attack with one hand.

Upon impact, a forceful wind spread, and the ground underneath his feet cracked a little.

For a second there, the Giga Skull Crusher was confused, thinking that they might’ve missed Rex as it felt like hitting a rock, but he didn’t miss. Rex easily stopped the Giga Skull Crusher’s attack, treating it as if it were nothing.

About a week ago, that attack would’ve demolished him.

But now, it did nothing.

Naturally, the Giga Skull Crusher was shocked, and it didn’t take long before that shock turned to fear.

Rex glanced at him and muttered, “Kill yourself.”

He enhanced his command with the Dark Auctoritas Echo engraved within the Red Dawn of Kaiser.

As opposed to waiting around, Rex continued to sprint, leaving the Giga Skull Crusher alone.

Once he disappeared in the distance, the Giga Skull Crusher raised both of his massive hands and, with a disturbing motion, slammed them together at his head. Almost instantly—his head was squished, and he died on the spot.

An Immortal Spirit and a Master Immortal Spirit have a huge gap between them.

Since an Immortal Spirit has no Echo inside, they had no means to protect themselves against Echoes.

And without any means to protect themselves, they stood no chance.

Rex got one Yellow Nightfall Star from killing the Giga Skull Crusher, and he absorbed it instantly—a supplement for his trip. I need to start hunting, too, or else my power would regress. Shit, I hate to admit it but I really need Rosa’s help.

Gritting his teeth, Rex picked up the pace, eating up the distance with his incredibly fast speed.

Soon, he was finally able to reach his destination.

Of course, both bubbles were already ruined, but the rubble was still there.

“Eiran is nowhere to be seen.” Rex stood between what once was Dragna Land and Dragna Sea, scanning the area to see what had changed from his departure. “All of the corpses I lined up for Selvaris to see were also gone. Someone already cleaned up the mess, but I’m glad they had not taken care of the rubble.”

Now that the Obelisk of Life has died and the bubbles were destroyed, both lands were invaded.

From a distance, Rex could already see the Voidal Monsters inhabiting this place.

Garvain would certainly cry if he saw his home like this, but fortunately, he was already dead.

Rex approached Dragna Land, which was the main home of the Arcalen House, and stopped at the very entrance of the place. He placed both hands on his waist, looking at the Voidal Monsters that were busy doing nothing but bickering.

Swoosh!

Suddenly, Rex flared his life energy, catching the Voidal Monsters off guard.

His Master Immortal Spirit rank aura—scared most Voidal Monsters away, giving him space to search around for clues. Rex’s eyes glistened with a peculiar light—as he commanded the System to scan the Dragna Land for any item buried under the rubble.

On top of that, he also filtered the findings to only artifacts or maps.

As he waited for the System to finish, Rex’s body tensed up when he heard a voice from behind him.

“Hey, what are you doing here?”

Rex’s eyes widened when he heard the voice.

He had already made sure that there was nobody around, but somehow, this person, a woman, managed to get uncomfortably close to him from behind.

Fuck me, I forgot to revert back to my Human form…
