The Great Thief

Chapter 943 Shameless

Lu Li saw his next opponent and couldn’t help but smile.

It really was Twilight!

When Stellar Union and Glory Capital fought each other, Twilight was no worse than Sorrowless at first. It was only after Sorrowless continued to improve that he began to leave Twilight behind.

With only 30% HP left, there was no way Lu Li could fight Twilight.

In a battle between a Thief and a Mage under normal circumstances, the playing field was even and it mainly depended on their levels and skills.

Lu Li was quite a well-developed Thief, but Twilight also had many crowd-control and damage output skills. He was also the first player in Dawn to have acquired an Enhanced magic shield skill.

"You might as well admit defeat; I want to fight Moonlight," Twillight said proudly as he stroked his magic staff.

"You’re so old, but you’re still trying to take the limelight from the young people. Your guild could never beat Ruling Sword; it’s time to admit that."

Twilight was certainly not old, but he belonged to the same generation as Unforgettable Maple. They were only considered ’old’ compared to the main population of players.

"Let’s see what you’re made of, number one player," Twilight grinned.

Lu Li immediately entered Stealth. In the same moment, an ice blast rushed towards him and almost froze him in place.

A slightly smaller Water Elemental appeared behind Twilight. It was supposed to counteract Lu Li’s Cheap Shot, but Lu Li was vigilant enough to notice its presence.

The battle had officially begun!

He had used Shadow Step, but Lu Li deliberately didn’t want attack immediately. He didn’t have enough HP, and if he was caught by the Mage, he could die with one rotation of skills.

Still, the Shadow Step on his Champion’s Boots gave Lu Li the initiative to make an opening attack.

Twilight didn’t expect Lu Li to be so aggressive, but he still managed to react in time, immediately using his Badge before blinking away and shielding himself right after.

He knew that the badge was not enough to cleanse the crowd-control. After all, a Thief had plenty of different crowd-control skills.

Lu Li followed up with Sudden Thrust, which helped him catch up to Twilight. He then used Kidney Shot to successfully crowd-control him. Unfortunately, he didn’t even break through the Shield, which mitigated all of his damage.

Champion’s Boots (Epic): Armor 80, Agility +100, Constitution +50, Movement Speed +25%, 2 Slots. Special Effect 1: Kick Skill +1. This has a certain chance of Silencing a target for 3 seconds. Special Effect 2: Shadow Step. Break into the shadows and appear behind the target. Within 10 seconds, your next Ambush or attack has 30% increased damage and your movement speed is increased by 80%. Lasts 5 seconds, 2 minute cooldown. Special Effect 3: Sudden Thrust. Cast to instantly move 15 yards in any direction. This deals 200% attack damage to all targets along the line, and the user is invincible while moving. 3 minute cooldown. Equipment Requirements: Level 60. Durability 375/375.

In fact, Sudden Thrust’s damage was still very powerful. Twilight was shocked when he saw that his magic shield had dropped by 400-500 HP.

The thought of finishing off Lu Li without taking a single hit was no longer assured.

Even though there was a shield in his way, Lu Li still continued to attack. Throughout this time, the Water Elemental was continually damaging him.

Lu Li didn’t attack the Water Elemental because he knew that he had to deal with Twilight quickly. His goal was the deal as much damage as possible. He probably didn’t have the luxury of killing Twilight, but he could give his teammates an advantage over him.

In the moment that Twilight’s Magic Shield broke, he decisively used Ice Barrier.

Lu Li sighed and immediately disappeared with Vanish after that.

The moment Ice Barrier expired, Twilight casted Frost Nova and ice rushed out from under his feet. If Lu Li had been lurking beside him, waiting to cast Cheap Shot, he would have been frozen.

Unfortunately, nothing was caught in the ice.

In other words, this Frost Nova had been completely wasted.

Even so, Twilight was not discouraged. He walked around with his Water Elemental almost aimlessly, but he was actually evading Lu Li’s Cheap Shot attempts.

"This guy can definitely see Lu Li!" Fat Monkey cried out. The players that weren’t on stage could see Lu Li, but Sorrowless seemed to understand what was happening.

"Now do you know how strong he is? This is the difference between you and the older players. Twilight is really experienced and must have studied many of Lu Li’s videos, so he knows about his walking habits," Cat Dad explained.

At this moment, Twilight emitted a shockwave and managed to hit Lu Li who was still in Stealth.

In response to this, there was a thunderous applause from the audience. They cheered for his accuracy and how he managed to hit this Thief despite the Stealth.

Lu Li immediately started a round of frantic attacks. His Gale Steps had already been used on the Paladin, so he no longer had a guaranteed way out after getting close to his opponent.

"Ignite," Cat Dad whispered, just as Twilight used his skill on Lu Li.

After being Ignited, Lu Li couldn’t use Shadowmeld to enter Stealth and had to use his Shadow Cloak instead. Twilight was forcing Lu Li to use skills that he didn’t want to. Of course, he couldn’t kite Lu Li, but eventually, Lu Li would be forced to attack him.

"If I let you attack me, will you be able to kill me?" Lu Li was quite injured already, and Twilight didn’t think that he could pose a threat to him.

Lu Li also knew that he couldn’t go on for much longer, but he remained determined. He had no concept of quitting, and continued to try to take more HP off his opponent.

Just when Twilight wanted to use a special effect to hold Lu Li at a distance, he suddenly found that his Magic Staff was gone. Without his Magic Staff, he couldn’t use his skills or even the effects of his equipment.

Lu Li’s Epic dagger’s special effect was Disarm. It had a 50% chance of stealing an enemy’s weapon, making them unable to attack for 3 seconds.

Lu Li glanced at his HP. He had a little over 200HP left and even if Twilight didn’t attack him, the Water Elemental could finish him off in three attacks. As such, he shamelessly decided to use the effect on his pants without thinking – Arugal’s Gift.

The effect cursed the target, causing the target to lost 100HP every 5 seconds for 300 seconds.

Twilight almost vomited blood.

According to his original plan, he was going to refresh himself at the start of the next game. It was possible for him to regenerate most of his HP, and that would have given him the confidence to face someone like Moonlight.

He didn’t expect that Lu Li would be so shameless as to give him a five minute curse.
