Chapter 669: Fighting For a Room

Lu Li hadn’t stepped into the Arena for a long time.

The current Arena didn’t give any rewards, not even experience. Only players who were into PVP would spend their time in this place.

The reason why Lu Li entered the Arena instead of the Battleground was because the arena didn’t have too many outer influences.

When he chose an Arena channel, the System asked if he still wanted to use his previous ID, ’Unknown’. The name still kept his previous record of 23 victories. This record had caused a ruckus back then, but now, it was just one of the many records in the Arena.

Currently, amongst all the players, Elevenless from Wings of Dawn had 1456 victories and 72 defeats, while Gaze from Gale Legion has 1127 victories and 66 defeats.

Most of the top players among the rankings were mostly Warriors, Thieves and Mages. There were players from other classes who were scattered in between, but these three classes took up the majority.

Paladins weren’t too bad either, but unfortunately, they took too long to finish a battle.

Players had to focus on leveling and the arena didn’t provide anything besides a small amount of money, so no one would spend all day long here.

Besides those who were passionate about PVP, players would only come if they really had nothing to do.

After Lu Li entered, what appeared before him was a large, grand hall that resembled the Mercenary Hall.

This was called the Honor Hall. It was a folded space, so although it only looked normal, you could never reach the end of it. There were also hundreds of mini portals; the area was large enough to contain up to a hundred thousand players.

The Horde also had a similar area called the Honor Valley.

This was the first time that Lu Li had entered this place in his current life. It had been a long time since he has stepped foot in the arena and his fake ID had probably been long forgotten.

This place was as messy as it had always been. There were bars and dance floors, with some people even beginning to strip in front of others.

The Honor Hall and Honor Valley were both areas that required players to be of legal age for entry. Since all the players here were legal adults, there was no way that this place would be innocent like a library in an elementary school.

Lu Li dodged past two women who tried to ask him for drinks.

These were players who relied on this kind of work for a living; their alcohol weren’t cheap. The best ones could take a few-days-worth of income within half an hour.

Materials and equips were being traded on the black markets, and apparently, the alcohol business in this area alone was worth up to millions of dollars in real life.

Lu Li had traded herbs here for a period of time in his previous life.

He found a table for himself and ordered a cheap wine, then took out the number plate he had received after he entered the Honor Hall and pulled out the menu.

Next, he randomly chose an arena room to enter.

As long as there was a number plate on the table, no one else would take the spot.

After Lu Li entered the arena, he found that the owner of the room was a Warrior. The Warrior wore a silver-white Chestplate, which made him appear strong and elegant, but Lu Li could tell from one look that it was only a Silver grade equip. It probably wasn’t even level 40 either.

"Bro, why are you hiding your face?"

The Warrior saw that his opponent was a Thief and he was relieved. Currently, Warriors had the best win rates in the Arena, with only extremely skilled Mages being able to kite and defeat them. Thieves were often easy targets for Warriors.

"Just start. Don’t waste time." Lu Li really didn’t enjoy chit chat before battles.

After the Warrior heard Lu Li, he misunderstood. He cracked open a smile and said, "Don’t be in such a rush; you might run into another Warrior too after I send you out. A lot of Warriors have opened rooms lately."

"I want to quickly send you out," Lu Li sighed.

Did he really have to make him say things so bluntly? He really didn’t want to be so straightforward. It would have been better if they quickly ended the fight and parted ways.

"Geez, damn. Did I run into a master gamer? So shameless," the Warrior laughed, thinking that Lu Li was bluffing.

Lu Li saw that the Warrior was about to waste more time, so he forced the battle to begin.

This function wasn’t available the last time Lu Li had come, but if he lost, he would have to pay double the price.

The Warrior’s expression changed; he held tightly onto his double-hand axe and stood on guard.

There was no way he would be a bad player if he was brave enough to spend money on a room. He definitely understood that it was important not to underestimate his opponents.

Lu Li also understood the same rule, but even if he didn’t go into Stealth, he was still almost certain that he could beat his opponent.

After the Thief went into stealth, the Warrior didn’t panic. He seemed to be satisfied with the situation. Even if he got Stunned by a Thief, he was still confident that he could tank a whole rotation of skills. Most Warriors wouldn’t lose more than half of their health from this.

The battle unfolded faster than expected; Lu Li didn’t even bother with kiting.

He was here to practice his techniques and become more accustomed to battling against players. He wasn’t interested in players who were significantly worse than him. After his Cheap Shot landed, his dagger danced through a set of skills. His last Eviscerate cleared the entire health bar of the Warrior.

After his victory, the room became his.

Lu Li’s real goal was to take over this room. Creating your own room only costed one gold coin, but it would require the player to use their own ID. He wasn’t interested in attracting too much attention from other celebrity players.

After he became the room owner, many other players entered to challenge him.

Lu Li didn’t say anything, nor did he wait for these players to make any remarks either. Instead, he chose to use the force battle function immediately.

The new challenger was caught by surprise – he had only selected this room by random and didn’t expect to run into someone who was so impatient. Couldn’t they have a good talk first before they began to fight?

Lu Li waited for the battle timer to finish and immediately entered Stealth.

The Warlock player had brought a Succubus which was wearing leather armor that barely covered anything. Every single action of the Succubus would reveal a different part of her body. Her whip not only dealt a lot of damage, but her skills were decent as well.

The Warlock player had lately been doing well in the arena, at least against average players.

He didn’t expect to run into such a tough opponent this time. Lu Li Sapped him first then quickly killed the Succubus – it was only a summoned pet and couldn’t take more than a few hits from him.
