Chapter 1748: Toxin Injector
50 DKP wasn’t that much, but Azure Sea Breeze would also receive DKP from the Boss and for being a Main Tank. He was standing to gain 2-3 Bosses worth of DKP.
However, it didn’t seem like he had a real choice. It was likely that he would have to drink it regardless of whether he was willing.
Even after having his HP capped at 90%, Azure Sea Breeze would still have enough HP to face the Boss. It wasn’t that he was conceited, but that none of the other Warriors present were qualified like him.
As such, Azure Sea Breeze solemnly downed the potion.
After finishing the potion, he immediately chased it with fruit juice while crying out in disgust. It took a while for him to wash out the odour from his mouth; he was working hard for his team.
After drinking the potion, Azure Sea Breeze’s HP wasn’t full anymore. In fact, it stayed at 90%. This potion could actually be used to fight the Boss. For example, when the Boss had its mouth open, you could throw it inside. It would then reduce the Boss’ HP by 10%, which was a good start to the fight.
However, this was still a waste of resources. The first 10% HP wasn’t something that most teams needed help with.
Currently, there were no physical symptoms for Mages and Healers for using their magic for
extended periods of time. As such, it didn’t make a different to fight the Boss for 30 minutes or 40 minutes.
Lu Li bought this item from the Exchange Hall and had spent a lot of gold coins. Presumably, the seller didn’t know how precious it was, but noticed that it was quite rare. Only a fool would sell an item like that for 1 or 2 gold coins.
If there was no such item, then they would have had to just keep trying and getting wiped until one of the four Warriors had high enough HP at just the right time.
With this potion, the three-guild alliance managed to save a lot of time.
Patchwerk gave out a Skill Point, which was won by Water Fairy. The female tycoon was also usually quite unlucky, but she had a beautiful fac,e unlike Lu Li. Perhaps the System took that into account.
Beautiful girls generally had better luck.
There weren’t any particularly exquisite gems, and there was no Enhanced Skill Book. So, they all anticipated that the subsequent equipment would be disappointing too.
There was the Plague Bearer, which was an Ice Resistance Shield. Its overall attributes were not that strong, but as an Ice Resistance equip it was valuable. Azure Sea Breeze took the item somewhat indifferently as no one competed against him.
Cloak of Suturing – this was a healer’s cloak and was taken by Star Baby.
The next item was Severance, a two-handed axe. Deadly Gold Underpants was very satisfied with its special effects, and spent a lot of points to purchase it.
Another item was the Desecrated Pauldrons, a T3 item for Warriors or Thieves. Moonlight already had two items from this set, so the others respected that by not bidding too highly for it.
No matter what profession you were, unless you were Lu Li, you would always find yourself in trouble from time to time. When that happened, all you had to do was to call for Moonlight or Her Tears, and they would drop what they were doing to help.
Remnant Dream then looted two Desecrated Shoulderpads, which were for Priests, Mages or Warlocks.
This was already quite a lucky set of drops. If they had received three Paladin items, then they wouldn’t know how to split them up.
While they were dividing the equipment, the others began to clear out the mobs nearby. They soon came across the second Boss in the Abomination Zone – Grobbulus.
He was another giant made of flesh and blood guarding the Abomination Zone. Unlike his peers, Grobbulus had undergone a transformation where he had fused with the Scourge. In this battle, the adventurers had to be careful of the Oozelings and Deadly Fog that this monster could spit out!
Not all the Scourge’s experiments were perfect. Grobbulus could actually be regarded as one of the Scourge’s many failures. Of course, this bizzare creature wasn’t completely useless, but it was the Scourge’s first attempt at mutating live ogres with the Plague.
Human beings were no longer the only creatures that the Plague could transform into the Undead. Orcs, Tauren, Trolls and even Night Elves could now fall victim to the new plague.
Grobbulus’ fighting ability was far weaker than the other Abominations, and it wasn’t that much smarter either. However, it had a large amount of poisonous liquid stored within it. What was more amazing was that the Plague within it was constantly evolving. This was why Heigan decided to keep this failure, and use it to create new plagues.
Inside Naxxramas, Grobbulus slowly moved about and produced a variety of new plague variants for the Scourge scientists to study.
One of Grobbulus’ arms was eventually replaced with a syringe through which he could inject Ooze into his enemies.
When players saw this character, it was likely that they would be reminded of their childhood nightmare of a doctor’s injections.
Although he looked formidable, Grobbulus’ combat power was not that strong. His normal attacks didn’t do that much damage, nor did he attack particularly quickly. This meant there wasn’t much pressure on the healers.
Every 10 seconds or so, he would put out a poison cloud. This cloud started at the size of the Boss before gradually spreading out. It would spread until it had a diameter of about 20 yards before vanishing.
The time from the appearance of the cloud and its disappearance was about 1 minute. Anyone who came into contact with the cloud would lose 2000HP per second.
However, as long as the Main Tank could pull the Boss away, this wouldn’t be an issue.
The second skill was Spray, where the Boss would spray his current target. This skill inflicted 3000-4000 Nature damage to all targets, even if they were only hit by a few droplets.
This was again solved by just pull the Boss away.
Grobbulu’s needle-shaped arm wasn’t just for looks either. It could give the player an injection of a Plague variant. This would then infect the person with a ‘plague variant’, which would either disappear after a while or could be dispelled by a Priest or Shaman. The plague would then cause the player to unleash a poison cloud around them, which had the same properties as the Boss’ one. It would expand until it had a 10 yard radius and then would explode to deal about 3000 damage (with Armour Pierce).
If a person with the plague died within 10 seconds of releasing the poison cloud, it would also trigger the disease effect.
People affected by this would just have to run off to the corner so it didn’t spread to anyone else.
This Boss would go Berserk in the 20th minute of the battle. If they defeated it within 20 minutes, then it wouldn’t go Berserk. However, even if it did, it wouldn’t necessarily wipe them.
After wiping Lu Li’s group twice, they worked out the strategy to combat the skills. In the third attempt, they defeated the Boss in 17 minutes.
There were no Skill Points awarded. There was a valuable gem for healers but no Enhanced Skill Books.
Midnight Haze – this was a dagger for Mages, which didn’t apply to many people. Its attributes were rather ordinary, so no one was willing to spend that much on it, even though Magic equipment was generally quite popular.
Glacial Mantle – this was an Ice Resistance Mage item, so Lonesome Flower took it.
The last item was Toxin Injector, which looked like a large needle tube. Remnant Dream needed this equipment because it was actually a rifle for Hunters.
“In the future, if anyone bullies me, I will be giving them an injection.”
The little Hunter was very satisfied as she held her shiny new rifle.
