Chapter 1740: The Grand Widow
The Splinter of Atiesh was material for the Legendary weapon ‘Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian’.
Naturally, the Guardian mentioned here was the Guardian of Tirisfal.
After Karazhan fell, the Kirin Tor Assembly dispatched a whole team of Mages to search the whole tower and collect all the important things. In the end, this staff was taken to Dalaran.
A whole series of unfortunate events had occurred in Dalaran. All those who had encountered Atiesh, even those who had just done some work with the Kirin Tor Mages, had all died strangely. It was like it was a sentient magical weapon. This sentience must have been granted by Sargeras. However, it was no longer the carrier of the Guardian’s strength.
After these people died, the Kirin Tor Sixth Assembly made a decision. They thought the best way to deal with this staff was to use some long-lasting magic to seal it up inside a prison.
Afterwards, Dalaran was practically completely destroyed by Archimonde. In order not to have the enemy lay their hands on this staff, the shackling circle activated numerous protective mechanisms that
crushed the staff, thus turning it into the Splinters of Atiesh.
This staff was one of the highest level weapons and it was one of the best pieces of equipment in the game. There was some info that revealed that the Lich King Kel’Thuzad in Naxxramas was secretly looking for this legendary staff. That was why it wasn’t unusual to find the Splinter of Atiesh here.
The best equipment in Dawn were Magic weapons, but there weren’t many in the whole continent. Because of this, Legendary weapons was naturally what everyone was chasing after.
When different roles used this weapon, it had different effects. You could even say that the attributes of each ‘Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian’ were different. Some of the staffs’ attributes might be mediocre, that is, compared to other Legendary equipment, while others had attributes that were top-notch.
It was said that the attributes of the best ‘Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian’ broke all the limits of Legendary equipment, turning it into a true Demi-God weapon.
This splinter had been previously thrown away, but now, it was still in Lu Li’s hands. Of course, it would be kept with Lu Li. He planned to assemble all the materials before deciding who would own this piece of equipment.
Alternatively, it could be made as a prize. Whoever was the most outstanding in the Shadow Cup would receive this staff.
There were many roles who were able to use this staff. In fact, Druids, Priests, Mages and Warlocks were all able to wield ‘Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian’. Because all the attributes were different depending on the role, they didn’t have to consider which one was most suitable.
The second Boss was called the Grand Widow Faerlina.
She was the top botanist of Naxxramas, responsible for raising and looking after those fatal spiders in the spider zone and providing the strongest venom for the Lich King.
Faerlina led the fanatics of the Cult of the Damned who wholeheartedly admired her. These fanatics would patrol both inside and outside her hall, both day and night, so that she could contentedly give her life for this cause. And so, it was said that this Boss had both looks and power.
Before her life had taken this low turn, this former aristocrat of Lordaeron relied on her own drop-dead stunning beauty and cunningness to conceal herself. She married six young aristocrats one after the other, like a black widow spider, getting rid of them all without any trace. By inheriting her deceased husbands’ estates, she was able to become one of the richest women in Lordaeron at the time.
However, the greedy Faerlina was a lady who couldn’t be satisfied. The real natural enemy of women was the passing of time. Faerlina’s ultimate goal was to have eternal beauty.
At this, Kel’Thuzad looked for her. Using dark magic, her chubby body and thick skin disappeared, and a Faerlina who would look forever-twenty came out. At that time, she became a member of the Cult of the Damned, a servant of the Lich King Ner’zhul.
The night before he was killed by Prince Arthes, Kel’Thuzad issued a new command.
“Go confuse that supernatural Nois! I need his strength! Make him be a part of Scourge!”
Faerlina, an expert in the affairs of the heart, finished the quest. She captured Nois’ heart, and made him willing to become undead.
Faerlina was not to be underestimated because she was a lady. Everyone who did so went to hell!
The designers in the game company really did put in a lot of work, making this Boss look sexy. Lots of players thought she had the charm of Queen Sylvanas, but from her appearances, she actually looked like a celebrity in real life.
This celebrity had a messy personal life, and in many aspects, there were a lot of similarities between her and Faerlina.
The company that managed her took Dawn to court and demanded all sorts of compensation. However, the game company actually managed to win the case, surprising everyone in a massive display of power.
Anyway, fighting with Faerlina really was quite a sight.
Lu Li had a serious appearance, not even looking at Faerlina, as if she were some ugly monster. But then again, with a girlfriend like Water Fairy, Faerlina really wasn’t much to look at.
When this battle started, Faerlina really let everyone know the heart of a ‘poisonous’ woman.
As a biologist and a potions master, compared to the previous first Boss Anub’Rekhan, the poison she used was on a whole other level.
Her rain of poison arrows blanketed half the hall. In normal circumstances, there was simply no escape.
Moreover, this attack was cast approximately every 10 seconds.
She also brought with her two followers and four worshippers, and they actually all used poison.
The followers would even charge at random. Those who were charged at would not only incur massive damage, but they would also be silenced for 3 seconds. This silence wasn’t considered magic, so Priests couldn’t do anything about it.
However, the worshippers were actually the key to defeating this Boss.
Unfortunately, Lu Li didn’t know how to explain it. What reason could he give to the Priests to get them to control the little monsters?
If the Priests controlled them, the players would realize that these worshippers had a skill. This skill would allow them to get rid of the Boss’ Berserk, stopping her from casting Natural magic for 30 seconds, and reducing her magic attack speed by 20%.
In other words, the little monsters that were controlled became the players’ helpers.
The Grand Widow Faerlina was a Boss which often went Berserk. She would go into Berserk every 60 seconds, and every time, it would last 60 seconds.
The damage report came in after the Berserk. Even the Main Tank couldn’t withstand a few rounds of this.
