Chapter 1618: White Mount

“Just roll. I already have the Headless Mount.”

Lu Li didn’t have much of a reason to collect Mounts.

He usually didn’t even ride the Headless Paladin’s Steed. Most of the time, he would ride his leopard and transform into a Crow if he was in a hurry. The Headless Paladin’s Steed was just too conspicuous as there weren’t that many in the game. It wasn’t a secret as to who had that mount. If they saw that mount and noticed his profession, then it wouldn’t be too difficult to guess who he was.

However, racing Mounts were different, and almost all max-level players would save some money to buy one.

After all, time was money, and moving around faster would give them more time to make money. This was something everyone was basically forced to invest in, as a good mount was now a bare necessity.

With that being said, the players started rolling.

Hachi Chan rolled an 83, Water Fairy rolled a 62 and Remnant Dream rolled a 91. Azure Sea Breeze also shamelessly decided to roll, managing a 70.

Lu Li let out a sigh before rolling a 13.

Lu Li felt like throwing up and sighed again because of his weak roll. In his spare time, Lu Li would sometimes just roll on his own. Although his numbers were generally lower, he was definitely capable of rolling a number in the 90s or even a 100.

But why couldn’t he get those rolls in these critical moments?

Compared to Remnant Dream, his luck was completely useless.

“I don’t want it. Just give it to Hachi Chan,” Remnant Dream said.

“Don’t you like Mounts?”

Remnant Dream was always obsessed with her pets and mounts, so it was abnormal for her to give it up.

“I have made a sale,” Remnant Dream said proudly. “There are many people who want to work with me and I have been given these two conditions. If I haven’t collected two mounts, I am allowed to roll for them. Once I have collected the mounts, they will be sold for 200 gold.”

“Wow, when did you become so smart?” Lu Li exclaimed, although he was already planning to teach Remnant Dream about that business tactic.

“Hey, I just like day-dreaming, but I’m not an idiot,” the little Hunter said proudly.

“Dreamy, you have so much money,” Hachi Chan sighed sadly. “I need to do so many quests before I can earn 200 gold.”

“Then why don’t you sell the quest rewards that you have? Your warehouse is full. Stop asking me to lend you money to expand your warehouse,” Remnant suggested, spilling her business secrets. A lot of money that Remnant Dream had earned had been borrowed to expand her warehouse.

The warehouses in Dawn were just like backpacks, and the cost of expanding it increased with each expansion.

Although there was no limit on the number of expansions, each subsequent expansion cost so much more that it discouraged the players from buying them.

Hachi Chan was likely the person who had bought the most of these expansions, because she had acquired so many pieces of bizarre equipment in her long career of completing quests. She was also fascinated with her collection of gems and her Elf Dragon.

“Alright, let’s not forget we can still do this four more times. If we get a Mount each time, then we can have one per person,” Lu Li said, trying to encourage team morale.

However, he didn’t believe a word that he had said. There was no way that Dawn would be so generous with the Mount drops.

Sure enough, they didn’t see any mounts in the next four runs. Even though the little lucky girl was there, the best they received was Gold equipment. They were only able to get Dark Gold equipment because it was the First Clear. If they were ordinary players, receiving a Dark Gold item from this Boss would already be a dream come true.

Fortunately, you could farm this Boss once a day, so the team wasn’t that disappointed. They looked forward to farming the Boss the next day.

Since then, Remnant Dream became a resident in the Blackrock Abyss Instance Dungeon.

She was truly farming the Boss. She had grown so bored of fighting the monsters that she would just let her pets do the work. She just watched and waited for the Boss to die so she could loot the body.

According some incomplete statistics recorded after the event, the Mount dropped about 4 times after 500 attempts. This meant that the drop rate was less than 1 percent. Yet, with Remnant Dream’s help, they were able to acquire 16 of these Mounts.

The festival was quite a happy time for Remnant Dream. Early on, she managed to collect the Brewfest Kodos and Goats, and then she kept on raking in the cash. She was turning herself into a rich young lady.

In Lu Li’s team, Remnant Dream certainly didn’t need any mounts, so Azure Sea Breeze managed to get one. The next one was also given away to Hachi Chan.

In fact, Water Fairy had won the roll, but she preferred white Mounts. Not to mention, she already had a white Kodo, so she gave the Mount to Hachi Chan, who liked Kodos. The whole atmosphere was quite harmonious.

Remnant Dream and Hachi Chan both received two more Mounts from this festival.

Lu Li had started to think about what other white Mounts existed within the Dawn.

The Night Elf’s Mounts were white, which explained why Water Fairy would often ride the Mounts from that race. Lu Li initially thought it was because she wanted to keep a low-profile, but he now knew it was because of the colour.

However, the Night Elf’s Mounts were not pure white and would often come with spots or stripes.

The only pure white Mount was the legendary Spectral Tiger, but Lu Li had no idea where to find that thing. The other trendy and cool-looking mount was the Winterspring Frostsabre.

However, the Winterspring Frostsabre was even more sought after than some of the pure white Mounts. There were few items that were more in demand than it. The thought of trying to get one gave Lu Li a headache.

He didn’t know if Water Fairy would be able to preserver for long enough to get it.

If no one else could work out how to get the Wintersprin Frostsabre, then he and Water Fairy could ride it together as a couple. There was something very sweet about this thought, and Lu Li felt his heart stirring.

Unfortunately, there was little time. After Brewfest, the Stronghold Wars that had stopped now started up once again.

This time, new maps had been added, which caused all the major clubs to fight frantically. High-end Potion and equipment prices increased every day. The gold conversion rate had also rapidly increased such that it was like they were at level 40 again.
